Wow...!
-
They may as well do another load at £199 for early adopters.
Looks like the first ten have been snapped up already!
That is me out then...that was quick.

I don't need bass gear now, I have enough, but in terms of super light/small, that kills it. I might even just try one. I'm sure I could sell it if I didn't use it.
In the USA Mesa probably sell directly to their dealers and provide support. In other countries, like the UK, there is a distributor and their dealer network all of whom have to make a profit margin and pay the cost of warehousing and distribution, local warranty support, in-country advertising and product promotion, exhibitions, etc. on top of the cost of buying and importing what is in effect a low quantity product. Bergantino seem to be different in that they sell directly to their in-country dealers.
I'd much prefer it if most manufacturers just sold direct to stores. I've barely ever seen an advantage (in my personal experience) with having a dealer. Depends if you've ever needed a lot of after sales care. When I mean discounts, I don't just mean MESA, I mean all brands. Sweet water etc often hand out 15-20% codes. We barely ever see such things over here. I've seen examples of profit margins with gear, even from dealers, and some of them are quite interesting to say the least.
I appreciate that there's additional costs getting to into the UK, but that's just unfair. If I was able to afford a new amp anytime soon, I would've been interested in this, but not when it's such an obvious rip off. I appreciate that Mesa stuff could come with a premium, but why only to us chumps over here? Eude
Actually you are spot on. Plus the U.S. get a five year warranty. Don't get me started on the fact we barely ever see any kind of discount code/offer, which in the U.S. is a normal way of buying music gear. Greed.

Music Man announces discontinuation of some colours/models
Musicman20 replied to Meypelnek's topic in Bass Guitars
Unfortunately I don't really like black guitars (I wouldn't say no if it was a great instrument, but I'd not choose it). So, a shame in my opinion. -
What have you got GAS for at the moment? ... Guitar version.
Has anyone ever heard or played a Strat with three P90s? I bet that would be a very interesting sound.....
Interestingly, Musicman make (and are about to discontinue) their Musicman Albert Lee 3 x MM90s. The original Albert Lee SSS is very Strat like. I have the HH model, and it is absolutely superb. Top of line quality IMO. -
God!
Which one?

How are they so cheap??!

Strat owners of the world! Pickup options... how many do you use?
Musicman20 replied to Ajoten's topic in Guitars
I love Strats. Despite their huge popularity, I grew up with many guitarists who didn't use them, as they weren't cool or didn't sound heavy enough. I think the Strat tone is something every guitarist needs to experience. Clean Fender amp, reverb, delay, and play about with the excellent clear as a bell tones. Alternatively, crank an amp, or use a pedal, and a Strat will sound fantastic. I don't really use high gain/heavy tones, apart from added distortion from pedals. I am much more of a clean to low gain guy, then add fuzz when needed. All the positions are great, but I currently use neck, neck and middle, and bridge the most. -
Have you tried your bass through the 68 Deluxe Reverb ? Do you think it would work at as a low volume Bass & Guitar amp (out not in house) ? Brendan
As in at a low level practice with a band? Certainly with the guitar; wouldn't dare try the bass! As fas as guitar through it at home, it is quite hard to get it really quiet. Those watts are LOUD!

Do they still make those angled versions?
22 watts for guitar isn't small, especially when you're looking at valve amps.
No, definitely not. I wanted under 30, preferably under 20, but the 22 W Fender 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb sounds SO good, and received so much praise, that I had to get one. I used to have a much larger/higher wattage Hot Rod Deville...and it sounded nowhere near and good as this 68. I think even my Dual Terror at 7W is too loud through its matching 2x12 cab. The two practice amps noted are both solid state and are both 10W....and smaller speakers, (especially the Yamaha). We are talking a volume that isn't intrusive at all...
I have the 10, not the 10C. For practice it is absolutely brilliant and I use it both for guitar and bass. In fact I don't use anything else now at home and I'm playing the 'holy trinity' of LP, Strat and Tele. Connecting to a PC via USB means there are loads more parameters (compression, reverb and delay settings) you can adjust and send to the presets on the unit. It's great to be able to adjust the level of the guitar and aux input independently. The bass sound is remarkably good too and the effects apply equally as well to the bass sound. And, aesthetically it is very pleasing also it looks nice sitting on a shelf in my office! Highly recommended. steve
Great, thanks!!!

As my foray into the world of guitar gets more and more interesting, I've realised that even a small 1x12 22w Fender combo is just TOO loud for the house. I am still practicing before getting into bands with guitar, so home is where I play the most. Most high end bass combos for home/very small gigs are hugely expensive and probably not something I need. However, after checking the market for small low volume guitar practice amps, that still have good tone and more importantly allow me to test pedals and practice, it seems these two amps have bass functionality: Roland Cube 10GX, Yamaha THR10 (I'd opt for the 10c). Has anyone attempted bass through these on the bass setting? I'm not expecting any kind of miracle, just a half decent very low volume bass sound that sounds like the bass, for low volume home practice etc. Both amps, more so the Yamaha, have got very good reviews. I wouldn't ever need a Phil Jones or micro Mark Bass amp; just too much money for such a small item which is only of use for me at home, (and I have other small options for small gigs but at the mo, even a 2x10 is proving pretty loud and transmits bass through the floor!).

Fender 'dark green' finish - can you identify it?
Musicman20 replied to JapanAxe's topic in Bass Guitars
Sherwood Green is gorgeous. That's my input. I had a Fender Jaguar 'Marrguar' which wasnt finished well at all, but the colour was great. -
Music Man announces discontinuation of some colours/models
Musicman20 replied to Meypelnek's topic in Bass Guitars
Wow. That's a huge cut of colours and a shame to see the Big Al go (absolutely love mine; just seen a similar one in PMT Manchester which is a beautiful!) -
I'd just get a USA Stingray instead of wanting one, going for a cheaper model, then eventually going US anyway!
