1. Hi Nigel Im truely disappointed that they didnt just lose their 'cost' on this item and refund you. I actually think they have sold you a faulty item, and I would contact Fender UK asap. They have an email address on their website. Make sure you tell them who sold you it for a start, and then say you want something doing about it. I mean, whats £20-30 for a business compared to 7000 ppl on here never going back to them. Disgusting. I am currently in dispute over something at the moment and Im hoping it gets resolved, otherwise I will be doing the same and putting it on here. I dont think its fair for the customer to lose out of faulty goods....EVER! Cheers
2.
P w/ Orange.
YESSSS
3. Looks great! Seems Clarky loves the Oly White + Black guard....
4.
go down the route....go down the route the 2 DB112s sound amazing!!
I almost did! But I realised my DB212s are already more cab than I need! I recommend DB cabs all the way
5.
Thats an Ampeg he's using there tho, with orange cabs. Innit
Whoops...I only saw the cabs and presumed. Plus id seen him with the AD200b before. Perhaps he has both?!
6. All my new Fender's came with silica gel in the case. Should I take it out or leave it in?!
7. The great thing ive really been impressed with is the the weight. These basses I have are very consistent weights and brilliantly light. Basically, a P bass is an essential bass for any bassists setup! Everyone needs a least one.
8. I have 2 x the new 08/09 series. Fantastic. Just try them out before you buy. Certainly are the best 'new' Fender basses for a long time. The new case/bridge/tuners/fboards/neck are very very worthwhile.
9.
Yeah but that's the same with any bass guitar, or instrument in general, that isn't a vintage Fender lol Si
I know we all loose a fair bit, but with the high end custom, especially the more bizarre types, the sellers seem to lose a hell of a lot. More than id expect or want to lose.
10. Ive decided to steer clear of custom. Purely because I get what I want with stock instruments once Ive found one I like. In addition, I take a long time to decide, so Id be forever changing my mind. Shuker JJB seems awesome though...but thats more of a boutique signature instrument. Im sticking with basses I know I like. My next will be a Fender American Reissue, but not for some time. My other issue is that if you sell a custom...you never usually get the value back that it should retain.

gone

Awesome setup!
12. These guys might be a bit much for some peoples tastes, but I actually think they ain't bad. I not listening to much really heavy stuff recently, but these chaps do it very well. 13.
Sold Gareth my MIA P-bass (to pay for dave_bass5's lookalike Oly white P5). Gareth was a pleasure to do business, very straightforward and accommodating. We exchanged the bass in a pub which is always a good thing! Cheers Gareth and good luck with the flat-hunting in London

I was in the pub at the same time, to pick up Gareth's 1996 MIJ '62 RI Precision. The bass was in amazing condition as he had owned it from new and REALLY looked after it. He's a top bloke to do business with. A total gent and completely trustworthy. Thanks G, I'm really enjoying the bass All the best, Nigel
Cheers chaps!
14. Just bought Clarky's 2009 Fender P and it has TI flats on it. I LOVE how they feel. I have yet to amplify this bass properly as everything is in different rooms! I will no doubt miss the bite, but I wanted something totally different. Are they normally a little fatter in the low end? I noticed when I had a brief 5 mins at very low volume through a friends Marshall guitar combo that the tone control is much better for flats...eg roll it back and 'whump'...half way and its perfect!
15. Nigel is a top fella! Met in a pub near Oxford St Tube, and gave over my old faithful bass, a MIJ 62 Reissue Precision. Im glad that you like the bass Nigel, and thanks for the help and the coffee! Im very happy to meet fellow bassists, and Nigel is one trustworthy guy! He even paid for the bass 1 week in advance! Im sure we will have a few drinks and a bass update when I move down. Cheers Gareth
16. Oww Nigel! Im also annoyed this hasnt gone right as I was looking forward to the modded version! I think you have every right to send it back, and I cannot believe they have tried to 'get out of it'. Its not like an £800 bass....its a pickguard. Why they cant help out is beyond me! I think a firm phonecall is in order. Anyone else?
17. £679! Seriously?!??! Right...im am skint. But I really want one! Dammit. C card?! I never use it. Perhaps I have to now
18. + 1 DB cabs are great...the 12 cabs are definitely my favourite though.
19. I picked up a DB112 and they arent that bad a weight at all. Id probably carry one at once if I went down the 2 x 112 route.

8x10s

I heard an Aguilar DB 8x10, and all I can say is....wow. Very well made cabs, basically its a modern 8x10. Too big for me though.
21. Thats a looker!
22. I have 3 new Fenders. I shopped around for years for a decent 'modern' Fender and gave up for a few years. I had a 2000 ish USA Jazz for a week and it was awful. I was so disappointed. I swapped that at the shop and they sent it back, and I ended up with the 2nd Stingray as in my sig. But...Fender has always been right for me. I have a 2003 ish Telecaster and its a beautiful guitar. When I moved home and had more cash, I realised the new 08/09 American Series was getting rave reviews. What I liked from the write-ups was the new case, new bridge, rolled fingerboards, glossy fingerboards, colour scheme, and a sound that was miles away from the poor Jazz I tried in 2000 ish. Now? I have 3. 2 P's and 1 J. Fantastic for the price. All three of them thump exactly how I wanted a Fender to! Plus, the necks/bridges/cases are fantastic for a mass produced instrument. There are still 'bad versions' out there. But the good ones are EXCELLENT. Yes there are minor 'niggles' with each instrument, but I would be picking at 'tiny' little things that most instruments under £1.5K would have, like very very minor flaw in the paint, you wouldnt see it unless you looked it up and down closely. I am extremely happy with my 3. Plus...all together, they cost less than a US Sadowsky. Ive not played many other P's apart from Fender P's, but my Jazz, IMO, sounded and felt better than a Sadowsky Metro UV, and was less than half the price. The P's thump and punch like crazy. You need to try another!
23. Clarky and I had never met until I picked up the Fender Precision that he has just sold to me. A thoroughly nice chap, and definitely on the same wavelength when it comes to music/bass tone. Precision/Jazz and punk! Clarky kept in touch right from the go with information, pictures, and honest information. After knowing how trustworthy he was, I sent the payment for the bass via bank transfer without seeing it/playing it. I met him in a pub near Oxford Street tube and picked up my new Precision! Its exactly the colour and spec I was after. As I had already seen in the pictures, the case was virtually unused and the case candy was still sealed up. I even got the tag that Fender put round the tuning pegs! I also got an official black guard thrown into the deal, and it’s fitted with TI flats. Ive always wanted to try flats, so this was a perfect buy. This is now my main bass that I will gig with. Clarky is a truly trustworthy and decent guy. Quick and successful sale! Im looking forward to using the bass for the majority of my gigs. Buy/sell with Clarky with absolute confidence. This bass was in perfect condition. He looks after his gear just like I do. Cheers Gareth
24. Recently sold my as new Line 6 DL4 + Line 6 Mains Adapter to Josh/Clam. Josh kept in touch all the way through the transaction. I was paid very quickly, and sent the pedal + mains adapter out the very next day Sell to Josh with confidence; another genuine Basschat member! Thanks Josh! Gareth
25. I have to say these are very very good cabs....especially in that colour!
