1. Yep, thanks for checking guys! At least I know I'm not being fussy. Pete, it's the same I think....has a power switch and the plug socket in a black casing...that whole casing moves! I wasn't even going to check the amp over, I trusted their QC. I noticed it by accident, twice Thing is, the Genz service is great, but I aint gonna get a new amp shipped to me right away like Ken, I'm going to have to wait until my store gets Fender UK to send a new one, then to them, then to me, and I have to be in pickup and delivery again. Not a happy chap!
2. Virtually all cabs have various inputs, well if they don't they should have!
3.
Ah!! That makes more sense. Could compare it to say the VLE filter on MB heads Gareth?
Yep! Probably close! I think it basically lets you have the modern sheen!
4. Ok, I've had this before. My Ray5, same settings ish, same amp, same cable is almost totally silent. The virtually brand new Ray 2EQ H has that annoying static noise that goes when you touch any part of the metal on the bass. Changed the battery, cable, amp, power supply, same thing. Is this normal? Note the Ray 5 HS is silent, well almost!
5. I must admit though, it still sounds ace despite the fact I'm going to have to get another. Even the headphones sound good...like, as Ed F says, a tube preamp.
6. Yep, to update, the actual black plastic housing for the switch and the power cable moves away from the chassis. Only been on for an hour, and went to move it, turned off. Thought it was my fault, put another power lead in with a little more force, went to turn the tweeter down, knocked the cable EVER so lightly and it went off. Checked it and if you move it up the amp flashes as the lights are fed power then the connection breaks. Not good. Fab sound, not happy though. I always end up with a problem, and this isnt exactly me being picky, its probably not that safe!
7. Yeah my friend had the hot rodded P...nice bass. Shame they dont still do them!
8.
It's almost certain that it's just a dodgy lead causing that to happen.
Tried another, same thing. The whole section where the lead goes in moves! Away from the chassis!
9. For crying out loud, why me?! This amp sounds great...I really like the mids im getting and the treble is there but not overly clacky. But, and this is a big but, is anyone else finding the power supply input at the back moves a little?! I was happy playing, then I moved the amp a tiny bit, and it crackled and went off. Then, I tried putting the power lead in as far as it would go, hoping it was merely my error, and it seems even the SLIGHTEST touch to the power lead and it all shuts off and crackles. Why me indeed! Dont get me wrong, it sounds amazing, SO much bass its unreal! But, Im guessing im in for yet another swap over.
10. Just seen the Yammy BB1024x for under £800 new! What are they like?!
11. It's like a lo pass filter selector. Bright/Grindy to warm/vintage and in-between.
12. I know gaf had two units go wrong. I'd still like one. Thomann had a deal at £499 with delivery for the 1x10 combo plus the gig bag. Anywhere else close?
13. No tone on the G&L?!
14. Seriously tempted to get one...love that colour.
15. My word no wonder the Squier CV P sells so well. What a lovely example!
16. Totally love this band. Brian is just as good live!
17. Last I heard SHX dont import Schroeder anymore. Bit if a shame as the 1212L seems likes good one cab solution.
18. I know Fender used to make a P/J bass, my friend has one. Who makes a P bass with a P neck, P body, P pup and J pup. Nothing fancy.... There is the TF Fretted, but Im interested to see what blend controls are available (if they are!).
19. Ive only been once and it was amazing. I will definitely go again in the near future. I can only wish to play such a good festival.
20. Thats it, the cab on the floor radiating part. Hence why some people dont like casters on 4x10s, but are they wrong, or just using their own ear? Anyway, it doesnt matter. I dont think a 1x15 is a good idea for a 'do it all' standalone cab.
21.
I'm certainly a GG fan after their TecAmp clear out
That WAS good.
22.
I might be wrong, but I am sure that AV 810 has been sitting in the Glasgow shop for a couple of years. I would guess that they just want rid of it.
Probably very rarely sell them.
23. Just noticed the Laklands now seem to be a better price because of the Fender hikes. £1100 for a USA Jazz??!??!?! They were £830 about a year ago.
24. That cab, IMO, is VERY bass heavy! I have heard some call it a bit muddy. Something doesnt seem right though.
