*TRADED*MIA Fender Precision Bass swap with EBMM *TRADED*

Plus one to TC to be fair. Matt Davey is the chap to contact at Fender GBI, btw. Nice helpful chap. I still didnt get to the bottom of my first Streamliner 900 which I sent back. I think everyone thought I was mad re: the power cable that always came lose. It seems a few other had the same issue, tried other cables, and they still didnt fit tight. This is even when putting severe force onto the power cable, which shouldnt be necessary. Anyway, I know I was right because the new one I received fits and sit perfectly. Doesnt budge. I will say this though, Genz Service is top notch, but obviously much easier if you are USA based.

Crazy! That's quite scary. I must remember to always check that switch. I hope it gets sorted. Thing is, they aren't that expensive here (around £650+) and for some reason the Shuttle 9.0 is more money?! I have thought about importing but stories like this stop me.

I assume you mean a 5 string Stingray? Well, these things have changed over the years. Pre-2008, it USED to be a series/parallel switch, and one selection also gave you the bridge coil of the humbucker. The newer 2008 onwards Ray 5s are now different. There are schematic on their website, Basically, I don't think you get the option of a single coil at all on them, you only get that on a Stingray 5 HS....or if you go for a Sterling 4 or 5 instead. Stingray 4 H basses dont have the toggle.

Complete loss of use of plucking hand - eek!!
Musicman20 replied to thepurpleblob's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like it was just a night of overdoing it! I have only started to play long sets and with my fingers entirely, and once Im warmed up after 20-30 mins, my hands 'catch up' with how fast I want to be. Ive played with a plec since day one, and took up playing 95% finger style about 12-18 months ago. Ive definitely improved and Im glad I can finally do both, but my plec style is obviously much stronger at the moment. I do sometimes feel im working too hard with my plucking hand, but this tends to be when I get worked up in a song and me and the drummer really nail it...adrenaline makes me play harder. -
On my home Mac, my iPhone, and works PC, its still lagging and slow. Nice site, but a lot going on!

The difference is mainly due to the fact you have another cab...when it comes to 'how loud', if they are vertical, it appears louder than a normal 4x10. I rarely use them vertically, only when its a good safe stage. Otherwise, I put them horizontal like a 4x10. I can get away with one RS210 for quite a lot of gigs I currently play, or just DI and no amp!
SNAP! Bought one of these yesterday, although a little disappointed with how noisy it was at last night's gig - opened up the control cavity today and I don't at all agree with Guitar and Bass Magazine's 'Well shielded' comment. Also, had to shim the neck as couldn't get the action low enough and one of the screws fell apart. Seriously. Oh yes, and without the strings on, the bridge saddles fell off and the nut doesn't seem to be glued in place, so is able to move from side to side! I think these are well appointed basses, but so far I'm not impressed with the build of mine. Friday effort?
I would contact Overwater and ask for a replacement or at least some help with it. Not good. Hope you get it sorted.

Good idea!

My picture is squashed! Ive tried putting a smaller one up, but it didnt help. What size do they need to be?

I can vouch for the LM3 as well as the TC amps. The LM3 is a classic, but the RH amps are game changing for me.

The Rh450 does have the Spectracomp compressor, its on the gain knob I think. You have to click the shift button to get to it.

Id opt for the RS212 cab, and the RH450 now its down in price.

Mic and mic stand - decent backing vocal mic

Thanks chaps. Are the Hercules mic stands any good? The guitar/bass stands certainly are! -
As for my favourite bass tone of all time, it'd be this:
Great tone, but for me with Paul its more about his technique and melody. I bet around 5 years this tone wasnt as popular, but Ive noticed a major shift, even from non-P players, to a more 'woody' old Fender P bass tone with flats. Granted, a lot of players on here etc have been doing it for years, but it seems to be stretching back into the high popularity stakes. Its good to know as long as you can play, you can get that tone with a decent P bass and flats.
I think what happened is that a couple of them decided that they are going to be famous, and so they are using the rest of us to push that. (I.e. didn't try at school, have no qualifications, and just wanna play guitar all day).
Youve hit the nail on the head there. Plenty of bands Ive been in have average guitarists who think its their last chance of having a 'life', because they didnt bother with a career as that 'aint rock n roll'. My career comes 100% before everything because ive spent 5-6 years studying, waiting, applying for work in the field, and being patient. If people make good money being a session player, good on them I say! But, it would have to be super regular work for me as Id worry about money. Enjoy your PHD...perhaps join a good covers band who barely need to practice because they are ready to gig now.
