1. For me, i got a great deal on the 900 so went for that. REALLY good amp. I was tempted to sell as I needed something more 'flat', but, the amp is that good I had to keep it and just get another amp! Sounds crisp, warm, and punchy. LOTS of low end thud.
2. Thanks Roger, appreciated! Same goes for Roger, nice easy transaction.
3. Roger is a great and trustworthy guy! Fast communication, and even paid a little extra when the postage increased. We used parcel2go.com for a delivery from UK to Portugal. It took less than three days, very impressed, (although not cheap!). Would glady do business with Roger again. Cheers
4. Hi! Thanks for the offer, but I dont think its something I would use, sorry! If anyone has a new TC Flashback Delay I would add cash plus this, otherwise straight sale. May end up keeping it as these are amazing tuners.
5. Personally, I would enjoy it and keep it. Nothing, IMO, is like a good Ray. My current H 3EQ is the best i've owned when it comes to that configuration. It's probably a normal weight, but the neck figuring and the feel/tone are just perfect.
6. If the HD112 is the same (almost) as the HT112ER (eg smooth, almost PA like flat quality tone with a massive amount of low of capability) then I'll be interested.
7. Sorry to hear that Clarky! Hope all gets sorted soon for you. Nice basses!
8. Probably for the best!
9. Yes, the 2x10 looks great! The DB212 is 70lbs and has casters, so another 10lbs without casters is probably a no-go for me. The 1x12 and 2x10 though....hmm!
10.
Have you seen this Gareth?... http://basschat.co.u...rgie-delight-2/ Eude
Tis lovely! However one Sterling is enough for me (for now hahah!)
11. Nice! Great aesthetics. The 2x12 is one heavy can though! Quite a bit heavier than my DB212! I'd like a 1x12 or 2x10. Bass direct has the 1x12 at £550.
12. I have come to own two of these, and obviously only one is needed (unless I use this one at home and the other at gigs). It's literally brand new, not used once. They are around £69.00 - £75.00 new plus delivery. I would like £60 all in (that includes about £5.00+ worth of delivery) Cheers...pics soon...although not needed as not used.
13. They have it in...a few I think. Natural / birdseye maple. Yum!
14. No yet, EBMM are aware and are investigating. Problem is, I can't fault it when they are right. I love their basses.
15. Is this the vertical redesign?
16. 11 pages lol. Well, the conclusion may well be an upgrade to a Classic Ray.
17. I wouldn't do it, personally. But, I'm sure it can handle a fair whack.
18. I know a lot of bassists really dislike the Musicman Big Al, but I seriously LOVE the shape. The Bongo took time to grow on me, but the Big Al immediately screamed 'buy me' as soon as I saw it.
19.
So because they sound good and are aesthetically pleasing, that makes the build quality good? What odd logic. The AD200B is just a printed circuit board based amp, differing little inside from a mass-produced far-eastern made example yet it's astronomically priced at around £1400. At least something like the Marshall VBA 400 which is also PCB based, gives you twice the output, proper wired output valve bases away from the PCB and is around £200 less. I'd happily consider the view that if the tone is right, perhaps the above doesn't matter too much particularly if you look after your gear, but the price should reflect this and the volume of returns and faulty orange valve gear I've experienced in retail and in bands suggests otherwise. Sadly Orange are very expensive cheap amplifiers.
Virtually all modern all tube amps are PCB. I know purists prefer the 'real thing', but the tone difference is ...what...nothing? The Ampeg CL is horrendously expensive, and yet its built overseas, with the same technology as the AD200b. Difference is, the AD200b is noticably more 'distinct' in its drive, and certainly better for my tone goals. No offence to Marshall, but I wouldn't touch a Marshall for bass, ever. Don't really like Marshall guitar amps if im honest. Watts and volume are not a concern for me with a full tube amp...especially anything over 100W. Yes, Matamp can build great PTP high quality tube amps, but is the tone exactly what Im looking for? Not sure, but I'd only look at Orange and Matamp from now on. The Orange cabs are big heavy tone monsters. They are built like a tank, heavy, but excellent tone. Very well finished and constructed. The attention to detail is excellent. I bought my Orange gear 2 years or more ago before they became very popular again, and I didnt have to pay £1300-1400 for the amp. I would still think £1300 for the AD200b is reasonable, especially compared to the Ampeg CL. The customer service is another major point. Orange (particularly Neil) have an excellent reputation in this country.
20. I would 100% disagree with any comments regarding Orange and 'cheap build'. The British made equipment not only sounds stunning, (and quite 'original' as in has a tone Orange are becoming quite famous for)but the aesthestics and quality are hands down brilliant, even for the price point. I don't own a Bass Terror, but I do have a guitar Dual Terror, and despite it being a low-priced low-ish wattage guitar amp, the construction is great. Sure, the decal might (I cant remember) not be 'printed' onto the metal, but at least the design is there. The Terror series have been massively sucessful, for guitar and bass, and it is because they are so simple, and with a great tone. I would always, on another point, pick Hartke over Ashdown. Great price, great tone.
21. I know TC took a bashing on the 'real wattage' on a one off bench test, (and volume has never been an issue with their gear) I wholeheartedly agree that the TC marketing comes across very professional.
22. I like it...which is unusual for me. I must admit, the Sadowsky 'quality' really does seem to trump all the other Superjazz manufacturers. He really does have an eye for clean fantastic quality. The Dingwall basses are great, but I can't personally see the need for me to move over to the fanned frets.
23. Indeed, when I had a Trace, Ashdown were lurking and started to become very popular. I never liked the VU meter...ever. I think with their knowledge, they could dominate the UK market because we wouldnt have to pay higher prices with them being based here. Orange seem to have mastered it. Simple, loud, toneful bass amps. There is always the nod towards 'british tone' when it comes to crunch and valve tone, so they should just play on this. Scrap the old image, leap into 2011 with a new concept. The Mibass amps again seem to need a makeover/design facelift.
24. The courier came but must have missed my girlfriend (who isnt well and off work)...unless they knocked super quietly. She is home today and tomorrow, so it should be ok. Currently negotiating an outcome. To be honest, even if I go for a refund, ill still be hunting for one. ARGH
