Ive got a good contact at S&T now who is going to personally check all order dates, spec, QC, on everything I order in the future, which hopefully should work out.

Now im on the hunt for another. Very tempted to order either a HH again or H 2 EQ in the Sky Blue or Tangerine Pearl w/rosewood.

I want the HH Reflex in White/Rosewood.

Hi Daz. Unfortunately I have no idea where or when it occurred. EBMM are aware and are looking into it. Sterling Ball mentioned he was concerned about the dates and where it occurred. Very confusing situation. It has given me a huge headache

Don't get me wrong, I like the proper Ampeg tone (although I don't like their EQ) especially in their tube amps, hence I like the Sansamp BDDI and VT Bass pedal, but, Id much rather use a Markbass or Genz amp + the pedal. Genz have amazing customer service, and excellent guarantees. Even outside the gurantee, they will help you get it sorted. Another option is the TC RH amps. The RH450 is quite a low price now, and beats Ampeg at their own game.

When we are talking Dingwall P...is it the 51 slab style P bass body (probably minus slab) or the more modern standard P bass shape? I highly suggest getting a J at the bridge w/sunburst + tort! Classic P bass with a twist, although your J is almost the same pickup arrangement. As much as I cant see myself using a Dingwall, I must admit his work is incredible.

So this Fodera is made in Japan?! I don't see how this costs less to build, and same applies to Sadowsky Metros. Then again, I have no idea what productions costs are anyway.

Wow, that is 'out there'! I agree as well, you can't take it with you. A colleague at work (mid 20s) has just found he has a brain tumour. Makes me realise just how lucky I am. The lad comes in still, acting like nothing is wrong. Brave kid, full respect to him. Don't worry about savings....as long as you are comfortable, enjoy it!

NYC Sadowsky, Genz Benz amp / Begantino cabs.

Ampeg, and no offence to users, have really gone down hill recently when it comes to reliability. If you read on Talkbass, there are failures left right and centre. Then, if you check something like the Markbass thread, virtually no failures. The Pro 7could have been there comeback. Light, powerful, apparently great tone. It is a big shame...if I were you..check the Genz Streamliner 900 as well as the Hartke. Good luck, and im glad you have Dolphin sorting you out, By the way, the Sterling 5s are lovely. I have a 5 HS and it is a wonderful instrument!

It does cover a LOT of ground though. That is one beefy rock n roll cabinet! Compared to the Ampeg 410E, it sounds much 'fuller', almost 'louder' in a sense. I find mine to be a good one cab solution. If you stack it with another OBC cab it is living the rock n roll dream!

Apart from the weight and bulk, I love it.

Thanks guys, and yep, Im happy that Sterling Ball is aware of the issue, and as mentioned above, on the EBMM forum, he is now looking into it. Yes, completely agree also re: refund. I'm not doing a thing until that hits my account, which should be any day now, (2-3 days processing). I am hoping there is some resolve and explanation in a few weeks. Strings & Things are now in touch with me via email, which I appreciate. WOT - completely agree with you on that. It would happen to me wouldn't it, haha! Now I know that things aren't always so simple when it comes to buying new, and in fact, second hand can be a good option. In the near future, I will be using GAK and Bass Direct for future business, Its quite exciting having the prospect of a all this cash coming back and being able to start from fresh. Im looking forward to putting this all behind me. The thing is, as much as Im a fussy buyer, when you are spending £1400+, I think you have a right to be. Because I class myself as having a keen eye for attention to detail, I spot things almost instantaneously, then I investigate, hence finding the wrong spec on the box and with the serial records at EBMM; I don't mess about!

Love his playing. Really like him on a P bass or Ray 5. Ill look forward to hearing this Fodera.
