  1. Schaller 471. I think they are similarly priced to the one you've linked but it might be worth searching. There's a second hand one on Reverb (it's not mine).... OEM Schaller 471, 8 String Bass Bridge, Gold, Top Loading, Intonation/Height Adjustments https://reverb.com/item/33250093-oem-schaller-471-8-string-bass-bridge-gold-top-loading-intonation-height-adjustments?_aid=pla_uk&utm_source=android-app&utm_medium=android-share&utm_campaign=listing&utm_content=33250093-oem-schaller-471-8-string-bass-bridge-gold-top-loading-intonation-height-adjustments
  2. Also gutted. I'm a big FoW and Tinted Windows fan. A talented guy. He was an Emmy award winning songwriter and renowned producer as well as being 'just' a bassist.
  3. It clearly knows that 4 strings is enough
  4. La Bella Deep Talkin' Bass for Beatle Bass sound great, if you want thumpy. I've had my set on for 4 years, and they still sound great. You can even here them here: https://open.spotify.com/track/5cHjmjA5cY22kswjwuZOcy?si=yjQguQXKQdO9FLmglJxnMA
  5. I highly recommend the Roland Microcube Bass RX. Don't be put off it's 3" speakers though.
  6. It's a repeat (unless it is a part 2). It's a good show and is about bass as much a just bass guitar, if you see what I mean
  7. I've found that I get the best results with my Hofner Club putting the bridge saddles in a straight line and angling the bridge. Here's a pic... (I'm sure different string sets will make a difference to the best way of setting the bridge so, for the record, mine are La Bella 760FHB2)
  8. You need to adjust the intonation.
  9. Could this be the 4005 copy he played in the early years? Shaftsbury?
  10. I'll be watching this thread with interest. I've had a similar idea myself, with the intended use as an emergency back up bass which takes up minimal space.
  11. Hi I've been listening to quite a bit of Colin Grigson's 80s output recently. IMO, he's a pretty underrated player. Does anyone know exactly what equipment he was using at the time? I'd love to try and nail his tone. Cheers
  12. The simplest solution to achieve the same electronic circuit would be to put a splitter on the input of one amp, plug your bass onto one of the "outputs" and connect the other "output" to your second amp. One of these ought to do it- https://cpc.farnell.com/pro-signal/psg08553/6-35mm-jack-adaptor-2x-mono-to/dp/CN21098?mckv=s4LrgMuDw_dm|pcrid|224689766569|kword||match||plid||slid||product|CN21098|pgrid|49729733449|ptaid|pla-838930841252|&CMP=KNC-GUK-CPC-SHOPPING&gclid=CjwKCAiAu9vwBRAEEiwAzvjq-xPcZjc5gxtzlNnO5t3IhJ2Ih__vnzH7spXhJBJU9SDvA0HMOKisARoCvuUQAvD_BwE
  13. Same issue here. Android phone, Google Chrome app
  14. Very nice, including the Ps.
  15. Looks lush. Out of interest, what's the difference between an EB0/EB3 and an SG?
  16. I've successfully used wood glue and cocktail sticks or kebab sticks (for larger holes) on several bridges.
  17. I take spare everything except amp and cab (I'd use one of our power monitors in the event of amp failure, plus I carry a DI box for pa connection). I can't think of an occasion in the last 5 years where I've required a spare anything. My spares have been used to get everyone else in the band (including the drummer) out of a fix though quite regularly though.
  18. It could equally be called the Stringed Tuba
  19. Can anyone shed any light on what this bass might be? Woolworths? (Sorry, only the one picture)
  20. Spinal Tap. But they can go to 110%.
  21. Oh, yes. That looks lovely.
  22. Gibson Krist Novoselic Signature RD?
