  1. True story - I occasionally dep with a local functions band i used to play with for several years. The mainstay drummer is a lovely chap and excellent well known drummer in these Devon areas. He noticed me gigging a Squier CV jazz at a dep gig earlier this year. He asked something along the lines of 'what happened to that beautiful 70's P bass? ' (which incidentally was actually a Limelight P that i used a lot in the functions band). I told him i eventually sold it to which he replied with a cheeky grin 'i can tell times are hard gigging a Squier'. Now of course I gave him the usual spiel of how great CV's were and Squier being a lot better these days....but nonetheless i felt briefly judged for not having name on the headstock...i was amused though.
  2. Now on FB marketplace - Collection is very much preferred from Plymouth UK but happy to look at couriers at cost to the buyer. I will be in Birmingham 24-27th Dec so traveling M5 from Devon 24th and Birmingham to Bournemouth M40, A34 around the 27th if of any help. 4x10 now gone
  3. Pretty confident these basses need little introduction. I bought this beauty before the Thomann deals that witnessed a Basschat frenzy in buying these up...i think simply because they're very excellent basses....in my view probably the best basses Squier have released to date! I paid a bit more than the Thomann prices from Peach guitars early in July this year, quite a bit more in fact as i had the bass plekked also, making this bass very much perfect. Selling as i have another P incoming with a preferred Jazz width neck and its a bit of a Xmas present upgrade from the Mrs This bass is in excellent condition and looks stunning - couldn't find a mark on it, plays amazingly smooth, sounds fantastic (Tone is very effective across the spectrum), and weights only 8.1lbs making it easy on the back. I am sure the buyer will be very contented. £250 + postage , happy to courier at cost around £20 ish, £40 ish if wanting insure (wifey is legendary at her packing!).
  4. Forgot to mention, on the LMT head only the top input works. About 2 months ago I had an oddity of a cheap jack tip breaking off and upon getting it out the input jack gave up the goose! Thankfully they have two inputs so apart from input one it functions fine. I bought it new about 18 months ago, barely used to as I mostly gig my heavy Edens.
  5. This I’ve got a XL 15” speaker knocking around. I put deeper 15’s in the 2x15 XL cab for some reggae gigs years ago. Happy to hunt it down if interested.
  6. Still here, more open to trade ideas +/- cash - Basses, Ashdown gear, Trace Elf gear, can add cash for a Stingray.
  7. Thank Lordy for that! Almost pulled the trigger being such a bargain…yet in battle whilst trying to reduce my gear 😂
  8. Funny enough I’ve just made one of my favourite Stingray types over the last week. I bought an original US Pickup & a 3 band Pre on here recently for I think £60 ish…bargain! I actually bought this before I had a bass to put it on…GAS in action right there!!! Then I hunted down a mint green Ray4 with a maple board on Reverb, something I had been thinking about for a while. Sadly after purchase it sustained a knock in transit (thanks UPS) so we agreed a £50 refund…I was happy with that as I planning to mod it anyhow with the new US electrics. Skip forward to this weekend and I now have a superb Stingray esq on a budget, all in less than £280! I even had a flat top pick up cover for those pesky razor shop pickup poles on the USA pickups. I’ve owned several ‘real’ rays over the years and this sounds, and plays just as good - no weak G either 😂. I’d like to upgrade the bridge one day but for now I’m in no rush. Very happy on a budget, and no desire to change the decals…quite proud of my Ray4.
  9. Thanks, it’s a real tough choice as I love the sound of the Spector and the playability of the Zon. Whilst one has to go (according to Mrs Raslee) I’m not too bothered if both stick around…for a long time 😁
  10. That could help me, could always do a winter trek from Devon to Bournemouth way.
  11. This is not helping my G.A.S.
  12. I do try to make my offers appealing! I guess quite a good deal on the face of it with the excellent MB LMT amp added …I’ll still have way to much MB gear even if this lot goes 😊
  13. Zon Gone! So one of my top 2 is up fr sale to free up some saving cash and space. First up: 1998 Zon Legacy Standard, Glass over Burl - Excellent condition, polyfusion ZP2D active system, Seymour Duncan Custom pickups, superlight 7.4lbs weight, D-tuner , low action, a dream to play & Ooozes groove! Plus Zon gig bag...probably the most 'perfect' bass i've ever played. Spector Euro 1977 Limited Edition - Upgraded with a Sadowsky preamp system and Sadowsky pickup. The unused blend pot has been left inside the cavity. So much better tone and versatility compared to with the standard Spector Tonepump and Dimarzio, It can now do passive with the SadowskyVTC tone too. Tonepump Preamp included but no Dimarzio. Just like the Zon this bass is in great condition, sounds and feels brilliant, i love it! 8.4lbs , brass nut, low action, pickup poles never align on these basses no matter what pickup is used - it's totally fine if you're not on ocd spectrum, Looks sexy as hell! Spector gig bag included One has to go, which ever sells first then i will pull the other. No trades on these. £1200 each, happy to discuss courier options.
  14. Thinning the rig heard as 5 rigs is a little too many and i could do with the space so this one is up for grabs. I got the CMD102 without a head as the previous combo head had died which seems quite common from what i can gather. My plan was to retro fit my Markbass LMT500 which fits in rather snuggish by pushing inwards and without the inconvenience of removing the top plate - very handy! Simply push out from the rear. The Previous owner of the cab also had retro fitted a tweeter controller which is also super useful. Of course the head can be used on its own too with other speakers and has a MB amp bag. I would be willing to sell the combo with the LMT head (bought brand new about 18 months ago and barely used as I mainly use my Edens for gigging) , complete with newish CMD102 Markabss Cab cover. Or I would sell the cab without the LMT head for £200 - i will not sell the LMT without the cab as i'd rather keep it. 15" cab now sold. Also selling my barely used 4x10", see below for pics. Happy to discuss courier costs or collect from Plymouth. In Birmingham 24-27th Dec, Bournemouth 27-28th if this helps. UPDATED: May trade a Yamaha BB bass under 9lbs, or a Musicman type bass, + cash only for cheaper basses, possibly Ashdown ABM head 500W++, Elf head/cab.
  15. Thanks. I have to admit I’ve been pleasantly surprised and quite smitten with my BB1100S which is now seeing a lot more action over my more expensive basses. Just seems to sit right in the mix, albeit I’m most playing the P pickup in passive. I think I got lucky as my 1100S is only 8.3lbs. I do like the active for a bit of boost, especially Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Chain’ outro which of course demands a bit of bass attention 😂 Does the BB734A have a passive tone option like the 1100?
  16. Are the BB734’s heavy? Since recently getting my BB1100S I’m starting to get BB GAS….first time in a long time!
