  1. Having fully embraced the Helix steep learning curve (and will always be learning), I now have a few pedals up for grabs: Seymore Duncan Studio Bass Compressor (SOLD)- have the box) Boss Loop Station RC1 - simple looper £40 Dyna Compressor - simple but subtly effective - £15 SOLD:Zoom B1Four - Will miss this; great multi FX - SOLD SOLD Boss SY-1 Synthesiser pedal - Great pedal - SOLD Boss RC-3 - SOLD More sophisticated Looper; (SOLD)- have the box) Boss FS-6 Dual footswitch - £30. Some have boxes or possibly velcro on the base. Add £5 if needing posting (UK) or collect from Plymouth. I'm happy to do deals on multiple pedals.
  2. My Hohner B2A 5-string, also known as the Cricket Bat by some. These basses defy science, particularly if you're primarily a reggae player like me as these basses provide thunderous dub tones. That said, crank up the treble and you have a perfect 80s slap monster with all the tone spectrums in between, I even did a Motown gig with this - they truly are rather versatile basses. It's not getting much use due to using ultralight basses so this could do with finding a new home. It has been modified with a homemade hook, kindly donated by a fellow bass chat member, which helps the bass sit better for me - much like the newer Steinberger Synapses had. It is easily removable, though, if it’s not to your liking. Overall this is a very well-built solid bass, lightweight at just 7.54lbs, with great action; the preamp works well and it has a passive option, EMG select pickups are great too. Comes with a functional but tatty Steinberger bag. A bargain £325 collected from Plymouth or can be posted at the buyer’s cost.
  3. Since acquiring my ultralight Sandbergs due to back issues, this beauty has sadly seen little action. It really needs to be played and not become a wall ornament. Plus I need to rebalance the credit card since my Sandberg Bass purchases. This Corvette is by far the best Warwick I’ve ever owned and really is a cracker of an early 90s Warwick with a slim neck to die for with a Wenge fretboard, and the bass is lightweight too at an accurate 7.9 lbs on my digital scales (main reason I bought it). Not being a fan of the MEC pickups, I fitted some fantastic Villex pickups (quite rare now) and a Glockenklang Pre, which also has the passive option - a brilliant modification in my opinion - still retains that Warwick growl but has a much wider spectrum of sounds. I do have the MEC active pickups, which I can add to the sale, although the MEC pre has seen better days as the stacked pot had died, although I may have a spare potentiometer. As I say it has a lovely neck, low action, brass adjustable nut, Dunlop strap locks, Warwick gig bag, and a lovely lightweight body in a rare colour Antique tobacco satin. The original BC sales add from last year is HERE £800 - Collect from Plymouth or willing to post at cost to buyer (have box and a legendary wife who oddly enjoys packing bass gear!).
  4. Ahhhh, that sweet relief moment when the luthier diagnoses a dodgy string rather than an issue with the bass itself. Back on the road 😊

  5. Do you know the weight of the bass please? Thanks
  6. Fantastic set up. I used that set up in a reggae band years ago - loved it.
  7. Been jamming on a few Chronixx tracks which my band are considering. Love this, repetition and firm ❤️💛💚
  8. ***old thread resurrection*** Did anyone ever find a resolution? I've got a Cal2 and need a d-tuner!
  9. Nice bass, do you know the weight please?
  10. Lovely colour! Do you know the weight and string spacing perchance? Thanks.
  11. Brilliant compressors these. Love mine.
  12. Ahh probably nothing in your context, although I will be selling my active Hohner B2A V (brown) fiver at some point. Has a hook so it sits nicely (cricket bat & light), probably not your thing but if so would add cash.
  13. What trades ate you looking for?
  14. Shame you’re not Devon way. I have my redundant ‘Fartke’ cab sat collecting dust in the garage. It was a 2x15” Hartke with the aluminium cones. I ended up putting 3015LF speakers (Eminence I think) inside which worked well. It even has castors and painted red, Gold & green…it would cause Jah Earthquakes!
  15. What is the weight please?
  16. Sacrilege this hasn’t been snapped up at this price. If I hadn’t moved over to ultralight basses due to a glass back I’d of snapped this up in a heartbeat knowing what great workhorses these are.
  17. Bland NYE gig in Cornwall. I did think it was a tad risky doing mostly ska & new wave originals in a pub full of partying young locals, especially as the majority of the material isn’t known or released. No surprise that the covers went down well. Obligatory rig pic, loving my lightweight Sandberg - no back pain!
  18. No affiliation with the sellers but the Peavy Cirrus BXP or the Yamaha TRB in the for sale section by a country mile.
  19. That's really helpful, thanks for that
  20. What's the weight of those 5 string precisions like?
  21. Wish Sire would do a lightweight range. Most Sires I’ve owned have been wonderful but all have also been weighty boat anchors.
  22. Absolute genius. Saw him with Shakti & Mahavishnu John M. Was possibly the most magical thing I have ever seen. Sad to hear of the passing of a virtuoso.
  23. Bye bye darling Stingray ….will miss you 🥰
