1. Ther is also the much ignored but much wonderful... Warwick Reverso AS. Nothing like a P or a J or anything else you'd seen. Despite the weird look, astonishiungly comfortable and light. 38mm nut width.
2. Would you be kind enough to give the measurment of the neck "pocket" ? Do you think this could be shipped over to France for a reasonable amount ? Thanks, H
3. I just bought my first 5er. My advice : try a bunch. I finally discovered that I needed a large string spacing to be comfy. Tried a lot of basses, but finally ended up with... A Squier Jazz Bass Deluxe V. 50mm nut width, 19mm string spacing at bridge... a dream to play... for me. Some people like tight string spacings and 44mm nuts with 15mm strings spacing. Really, try a bunch. Pickups, electronics can be changed, so sound wise, you have options. But try and find a comfortable bass for you. The Squier I bought was nowhere near my first and second list. But when I found that a large nut and string spacing was necessary to me, it becam obvious that it was THE 5er for me. (and I paid 130£, so i can even change the bridge for a Babicz, put nordstrand p'ups and another 3-band preamp in there (the OEM one is a three band. ) And, yes, a Corvette STD german is a good bass... but will it fit you ?
4. I'm gassing for a "plain P". I admit. I'm 42 and until 2 years ago, I always assumed I was A Jazz Guy. But couldn't be satisfied with any Jazz or double Signle coils I found (except for a Warwick Dolphin). And then I had this babe in my hands : And then all hell broke loose : I discovered I was a P guy, and I had to fill this void. So here came the rest : But that was not enough. Nowhere near... So I bought a beat-up Stagg bass and started experimenting. It finally was loaded with an EMG P and BTC control. Neck is straight, and truss is OK, a great chunk of bass for so little money... And tomorow, I'll go see, try (and probably buy) a MIke Dirnt Squier P. But believe me, there's nothing like a double P bass. The Clayton Signature will be modded to add a second P, and controls will be : stacked vol/bal, neck P'up Treble bass stacked, Bridge P'up Treble bass stacked.
5. Would you be kind enough to give the nut width on this one ? Is it a standard 38mm Jazz ?
6. Have a bump on my wife threatening to - quote - "make me discover if my left and right ball taste the same" if I buy this bass. :-)
7. ANd location, maybe, would help also :-)
8. Hi :-) Do you by any chance have the serial number of the Dolphin, please ? Very tempted, but fear my wife's reaction as I already have a NT and a BO (Pro2). Thanks.
9. Is the color that faded or is it the light reflections ?
10. Great bass. I have it already, though. (strung with piccolo strings .18/.50, it sounds killah. I would also recommend you to look for a Regal Dobro bass, it's a short scale, quite cheap and sounds great. With a better budget, you can also look for an Ortega D-Walker for example.
11. Sold my SUNN combo in order to get something a tad smaller. So now i'm in full SWR mode. :
12. Raaah, I'm looking for a 4-stringer. Had the chance to play this model, excellent ergonomics despite the looks : your arm rests on the "wing", it is well balanced (at least the 4-strings are). Plus it's really something your guitatr player will hate. :-)
13. I have this bass. Really good looking and great sounding bass. Although I put on some GHS Piccolo .018/.050, so I can pretend I'm a Folk Singer. :-)
14. Be quick, already 60 spots on the 85 that are available are taken.
15. I personally went down the "MuscleCar" road and play an amazing SD Curlee Curbeck 2. Not a warwick, but 2 Dimarzio P's, reversed and mirrored. (OK, the pic is bad, I just had it on hands, and it shows the P'up config). The price list on the Waqrwik is..; well, the pricelist. You should go to you preferred Warwick dealer in order to have a proper Street price. But you'd still be in the 4.5/5k range. I forgot to say that there are some Buzzard Bolt On, with the Warwick head and not the Buzzard one, that are more affordable. But they are quite rare and hard to find. Here's the "standard Buzzard Head" :
16. Yep, it pretty much sums it up. Buzzard and Stryker, and Corvette 2005LE. I don't know for the 5th anniversary. You can order through a reputed dealer a Custom Shop Vampyre. Base Price is for an NT vampyre is 5454.90€ (oil finish) Alternate P'up selection is around 300€ (you have to ask, ot's not on the price list) Alternate routing is 254.10€. And here you go.
17.
This
OoooOoooooh, shiny :-) Was that the Chrome Streamer that was on the EvilBay not so long ago ?
18. Yes, truly. They were dirt cheap a few years back and now impossible to find. I'm still on the lookout to get another one. Just in case.
19. For those who dig 2x10 combos... Just don't look. x SUNN BetaBass 100w 2x15"Combo + HenryThe8x8" Waking'up my neighbor's neighbor's neighbors. Yes, with only 100W. That's my idea of Downsizing.
