1.
If you are offering 3/4 part harmony with good musicians you should be playing venues that can afford at least $600.00. I personally don't advise play pubs for $250.00. Sounds like you have put a lot of work into the band. Set your pay accordingly. Blue
Thanks Blue.
2. I'd prefer clubs anyway and imo this is a high standard band. Boy girl lead vocals and three/four part harmony with good musicians. £250 is going to be difficult but might have to start with that to get everything oiled.
3. One of the bands I'm in will be ready to roll soon but as a six piece the fee needs to be half decent. The music is classic rock but with much less focus on the classic crap. Anyone got experience of the Sussex circuit and maybe a list of venues with expected fees? Thanks in advance!
4. Excellent. I hate new strings too. You should send the old ones in to Kew Gardens to test for unknown forms of life that have developed in their own little micro universe.
5. Great sounding album with a great bass sound throughout. Fender, valves, tape. What a combination.

7. Is it just me or will the cure and u2 be contacting future islands about their first song tonight?

11.
Back in my teens in the mid Eighties I was a big fan of Hull band The Red Guitars; their bass player Louise Howard used a fretless Stingray for much of their output and it sounded amazing. I suspect I'm in the minority here but I really dislike that 'mwah' thing... I've never played a fretless but I've considered buying a cheap one to see what it's all about. There'll be no 'Wherever I Lay My Hat' covers though.
I once did a demo at their studio in Hull and used her fretted stingray. I haven't thought about that in ages!
12. 1: You see a JV Squier Precision in the window of your local crack converters for £145. You know what it is, they obviously don't. You buy it. After a couple of weeks you realise you don't like P basses afterall and sell it for £145. NEVER. Guaranteed. 2: You intentionally sell your house what you paid for it 5 years ago. NEVER. Guaranteed. Sell for what YOU think its worth. Buyer will buy for what THEY think it's worth. If they then decide to sell it, it's for what THEY think it's worth as it is now THEIR PROPERTY to do with what the hell they like. Simple.
13. I've persuaded (forced 😄) one of the bands I'm in to do this. Great song and a great band.
14. I'm serious! Fixes car, gets cool bass That's a deal😄
15.
The Hissing of Summer Lawns does it for me. I can't imagine many folks not feeling chilled out after listening to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erQUlp6GYno
This album is one of the greatest pieces of work ever recorded.
16.
I don't know about generally, but in my case it has. - I joined an originals outfit last year and turned up with a fretted. A couple of rehearsals in, I was asked, "Er...can you play fretless?" I dug out my old fretless that'd been lying in its case under the bed for the last 20 years and surprised myself at being able to play it much better than I remembered. I'm now all set for fretless world domination... Mwah Ha Ha!
Great!
