1.
The red button was a bass boost, no compressor on these.
Might have been the cobra
2.
Carlsbro Stingray on Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carlsbro-Stingray-Bass-Amp-Head-/182471442739?hash=item2a7c254133:g:NCYAAOSw2gxYtZTU
If I remember rightly the red button on these was a 'compressor' which actually acted like an extreme limiter.
3. Bought a nice bass from skb558. Very well packed and good communication.
4. Just got a classic IV pro and I love it. No neck dive but I did do this mod which stopped the bass flipping forward which would have gotten on my nerves. This stops you wrapping the strap around the body which I think looks a bit meh. Othwr may have come to the same conclusion but I thoight I'd share it anyway. The gold is temporary...

6. Great great band
7.
Satellite My first bass in 1986 was a short scale white Satellite bass. Plywood body, awful sound.
That's what I'm talking about. So bad that my brain had erased the memory until now.
8.
I'm still traumatised from the first time I saw a picture of a Lindert Loco-motive P Bass... http://lindert.vinta...-motive-p-bass/
Just when I thought we had a winner that appears. Mad!
9.
I think the Kay Sound Fashion amps deserve a place in this thread. Wretched, wretched things!
Exactly!
10.
Well, the marlin sidewinder wasn't so bad!
I have no words
11. That's going to be hard to beat.
12.
I have nothing but praise for Peavey bass amps and combos.
I never ever thought I would see that. For me peavey were the worst amps of all time. Just a bit of fun though.
13. There's so much cheap stuff that is brilliant nowadays but anybody who was around in the eighties (and earlier obviously) knows what horror show gear was available to try and damp your enthusiam. Here's a few. Have I missed anybody? Marlin Hondo Peavey Carlsboro

Cheers Silver/ped, Giblin genius aside, this is a wonderful bass guitar that, at the moment, is just not getting played in my current musical situation.

16. Hello from Lewes. Enjoy the forum.
17. Bloody Hell!
18. The landlord wasn't Nigel Farage was it?
19. Wonderful,
20. and although my own setup is lightweight these days which I love for many reasons, it was great to feel the air/earth move!
21. Good stuff.
22. Just had a look. They can't even spell it correctly so that tells you something. I bought a telecaster online from CC which was a good guitar but had obviously come straight from a smackheads layer into the shop and then to me without any attempt to prepare it for sale i.e. clean it! It was disgusting. Don't let that put you off though, just be aware that they get stuff in and get it out asap. Bargains can be had...
23. Another great gone
24. My son's old violin. Now onto a full size one but this did him well. Seem to be pretty old and has some mojo. No makers mark. Based near Brighton, collection preferred.
