Thanks for everybody's help. I'm certain the jack is now correct. Black and red from the top of the board are to the battery.Gnd sw and out go to the jack and appear correct. I'll check the wires haven't melted together. I'm snowed under but determined to get to the bottom of this soon.

Thanks Andy. Yes, the red is on the longer one and contacts with the tip when a lead is in. I also though about the battery and replaced it with one from a working bass. Interestingly it didn't wreck the battery as that works in the other bass.

Thanks Andy, that was the point I'd got to which seem the same as your instructions and still no Joy. I've had everything apart and everything seems connected and in place. Red and black wires you see from the pre are going to the battery. The wires you see connected to the jack are from the underside of the pre and there seems to be no loose connections. I'm not sure what I could have actually disturbed whilst doing this. Dog was no help btw😀

After further investigation from the LR baggs forum it seems the black is the switch and the blue wire was not from the battery but some sort of additional ground from the cavity shielding. I soldered accordingly and it still doesn't work so I'm worried I may have blown something in the preamp with my messing about. I imagine that's fairly unlikely but... Many thanks for your help John. I'll continue over on the LR Baggs forum to see if they have any more ideas.

No luck with this either I'm afraid. I even tried another jack but ti no avail...

Thank you. I''ll report back tomorrow.

Hi, I traced the wires back and the blue is actually coming from the battery so is that the battery Neg? If so are you saying the blue should go to the centre and the black and shield go to the left?

Hi, I've just replaced the output jack on my Godin A5 (Non midi version) and I'm getting no sound. I thought I'd followed what was there before but obviously not. Any ideas? it's a piezo system which I imagine is what the extra wire is coming from...

Good point.

I'll have to write that one off to experience then. Oh well.

Thanks all. We will be taking action soon as the guy has had enough chances. Anyway, at least you know if you end up heading that way in the near future. Cheers!

Just a heads up that if any of you are about to play the Pier Hotel in Bognor, have agreed a fee beforehand and expect to be paid that fee then tread carefully. I don't wish to go into details here but please dm me if this may affect you and you can make your own mind up. This happened about a month ago and after repeated contact it's not looking good. I think it's only fair to let people know.

Whats the most ridiculous thing you have been asked for on stage?
julesb replied to ubit's topic in General Discussion
A woman came up to me in the middle of a song with a wad of cash and shouted in my ear 'Can you give this to the DJ?' In the MIDDLE of a song! What am I going to do? Put it in my mouth?! -

Brilliant gig and he's still playing a Westone (thunder 3a as far as I could see)

If anyone is going tonight it's at the Electric Ballroom in CAMDEN NOT ELECTRIC BRIXTON . I received an email from viagogo tickets stating the venue is Electric Brixton which it is NOT! Good job I double checked...It was originally at Camden KOKO.

Awesome. I have a sunburst from the same period and it's my main bass.

I've being playing Mark Bass (Combo) for a while now and they're great. If you like tubes though I would condisder the Markbass Randy Jackson (TTE500?) Great head! If I had the budget I would get that in a moment.

Posted almost the same thing at the same time. I'll delete mine as this is the sort of thing I'm looking at.

Hi, I recently picked up an old Perfect 10 for next to nothing for home practice and I have to say I really like the sound. My gigging amp is a Markbass CMD102p which is fantastic in many regards and ticks loads of boxes including size and most importantly weight. It's 300/500 watts and is always more than enough for the stuff I do. So, my question is...is there an Ashdown equivalent that ticks the same boxes? I'm not adverse to a normal size head but the cab has to be lightweight with preferably 2x12 unless their 2x10 does the business. Reliability is important of course as the MB has never missed a beat. Thanks in advance...
