1.
I'm not sure how many shits I give about the future of Denmark Street, if any.
Aye, but massive shame about The 12 Bar Club.
 2.
I never venture in darkest Shoreditch for fear of being 'converted to hipster' chic but this looks well worth a visit. Their logo says established in 2011 so must have been around in one form or another for a while? Have to be pretty big to retain 'main dealer' status for new Fenders and Gibsons, especially with the latest stock holding demands for 2015. Will definitely try to head over there. Must be better than Denmark Street as well. In fact I hadn't been back for a while but was there on Friday afternoon, tried the old trick of trying to get served but it was as tough as ever. Tried walking around, taking an instrument off the wall, playing acoustically for a bit, going to a counter and looking vaguely like a customer but couldn't draw the assistant's attention away from the blues licks he was practicing on a Telecaster without saying "excuse me" quite loudly. When I asked about some info on a bass he said the 'bass bloke' had "nipped out for a bit". No offer to help or even to venture when the 'bass bloke' might nip back again. . .
Well, maybe demolishing the whole street will improve service, if not appearance...
 3. I picked up this Suire P-bass from Croydon's favourite pawn broker for 80 quid. It was up at 120, but they had a sale... The label says "Faulty Button" Which means the volume knob goes round and round and round and ... So, I reckon, new volume and tone pots, replace the missing strap bobbins, new strings, clean up and set-up. Should be a good 'un. John.
 4. This could be disastrous - I work 10 minutes away from there...!
 5.
As above really, on at 10.45, it`s a live gig from NYD 1977 at The Roxy.
Ta. Woke up at 11:00...
 6. Have to agree with the Wilco needed a front man idea - after what he has been through, perhaps too much is expected from him? Paloma Faith I had previously disregarded as just the next one off the production line, but might have to amend that opinion now. Tried to count the total number of instruments being played on the show - shed loads...
 7.
Saw the Haynes Fender bass manual on Amazon. Quite pricey at £16, but looks quite informative for set up and repair. Might work for a learning novice like me? Anyone read or use the book?
S So, spongebob, you bought one yet...? Or did one appear under the tree...?
 8. Feline Guitars in Croydon - very good in my experience.
 9.
If it does not cover knocking out a rod and fitting a new one, its not much of a repair manual is it ?
Replacing a truss rod...? What can go so wrong that you would do that? Apart from doing a Pet Townshend into a stack. So, yes, answered me own question...

 11.
By far the best cables are striped. The two different bass-carrying frequencies of the pigments in the stripes act in unison and allow the electromagnetic waves to amplify themselves bringing clearer tone and lower bass frequency carrying capacity. I have found that cables marked with manufacturers names interfere with this electromagnetic transformation capacity and cause depleted musical performance. If only someone would invent a rainbow coloured cable (axial stripes - not radial, they stop the karma, man) then we can all bass-happy.
See - I knew it! I've always had this nagging suspicion that there was something in the Universes I couldn't quite put my finger on..
 12. I recall really liking them 20 years ago, and seeing them once, possibly at The Astoria (?) Off to tinterweb to remind myself....

 15.
The demos are terrible!!! "and here's an identical guitar without the O-port, listen" - USE THE SAME GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isn't one of the points they make how easy and quick it is to install and uninstall?
Pretty much why I asked. If I had a users view, I might be interested...

 17.
Phew! First draft of the blog is published, here: http://wp.me/p2ZbyY-oz As always, I'm missing some names and possibly some info - post here or PM me if you'd like to see your name or your gear added! 18.
A great day. So lovely to catch up with some folks I haven't seen in a while and to meet some new faces. Bass players are such cool people. And Paul the Drums is awesome. :-)
Oh yes - a great event. Well done to everyone who organised and presented. Yes - Paul on drums was great. When's the next one!?
 19. Very, very good. Still sounds like a 'fresh' artist...
 20. Nice one, Wilko! But -- 11 hour operation...? Jay sus!
 21. Peaches - Stranglers. Plus Iron Man - Black Sabbath.
 22. I am struggling with the concept of keys, tbh. Reading the same tutorials five or six times helps. Actually,I don't think it does...
 23. Wot no titfers? Um, didn't 'we' had any... Still, let us know when we do...
 24. I had tendonitis from playing squash. After the (two) cortisone injections, it's a case of physio for a while, then keep it strapped up when you do anything physical. Just remember not to agravate it and take ibuprufen when it hurts. It takes a few years, but it should be fine. John.
