Saw Tori Amos at Manchester O2 Apollo last Tuesday - yes, not 'next' - and she was brilliant....!
Had to drive 240 miles to see the gig, mind...
And the bass player was very good...
I don't think a lot has changed regarding how 'poor' new music is since I was a kid in the 70's. Basically, people who were my present age then were saying what a lot of people my age now are saying these days...
Or something like that...
I want to start trying string bending, for no reason other than I think it will be interesting.
Apart from advanced stuff like Primus, can anyone recommend a track or player I should look at for starters...?
I use a G4M electro-acoustic which I bought used from a percussionist mate. The main reason for actually wanting one is that I live in a flat and can use it for practice late evening and not upset the neighbours. That said, it has come in useful when rehearsing in peoples houses rather than a studio.
Seems to knacker the P3 batteries pretty quickly...
Played an open mic night at Winston's café, Greenwich, last night.
Tiny - very tiny - place, and not many people there, but we played really well, IMHO, so all good...
I was told by a guitarist last night that I sounded solid in the studio. Which was nice...
He has been playing since the 60's and I have been trying to learn for just over three years, so he must know something I don't...
