  1. Rush 1982 Signals tour. Bought at Wembley Arena. A bit knackered, to be honest...
  2. Well into double figures f gigs now and still nervous, excited, a bit scared beforehand. Cannot see why I would not do it, now...
  3. Warm Shelter by New Model Army with Tom Jones on lead singing... Look it up, it's true..!
  4. Let's hope they can keep going...
  5. Wandered into a shop in Gloucester yesterday called A. Remus Sound (in Barton Street) Not my area at all, so unlikely to go back, but they stock stacks of basses. All sorts of brands, styles, fretless etc. Two really cool guys working there, too. [Usual caveat that I really have no link to them] Recommended..
  6. Played a half hour slot in the Performing Arts marquee at Carshalton Eco Fair on Monday. Thee is also an impressive Main Stage and smaller Live Café stage, so a lot of bands / artist / performers. Went down well and I thought we played our set very well. The weather was the big downer - plus the mud..!
  7. I forgot how to play this afternoon, five bars in to the fourth number of the set...! Sort of winged it for a bit, hit some root notes for a while, and it came back to me. Apparently, this happens at my age....
  8. Our band is an originals job, but we run the set on a two of ours; cover; two of ours basis. The simple reason is, the crowd starts to switch off if they do not hear anything familiar..
  9. I hold the view it's a last desperate attempt to stay in business.... Hope I am wrong...
  10. Buy the cheapest one in the shop. They are all designed to last about 3 years, no matter what anyone says.....
  11. I gave him a chance and sat and watched his set. At least, some of it Not my sort of thing, tbh. Honest opinion - karaoke.
  12. Good idea about the pick. I used one I rehearsal last week and the drummist asked me what was wrong with the bass...
  13. Oooh, your fingers...! How many tracks will you play in that time? We played 12 in a little over an hour.
  14. Given that it wasn't the busiest venue - 12 people there - that went quite well. We actually played an hour and ten minutes as it turned out. I thought we played well, and so did the 12...!
  15. That's not too far, then, Synthaside...! Kick off is 7:30, apparently.
  16. Following our (my) second gig last week, we now have a showcase booked on Sunday. This means playing for an hour - not played for that long yet!! The Moot House in Kingston does these quite regularly, apparently... Looking forward to it and nervous at the same time...
  17. Played my second ever proper gig Friday night, We - Apoplexy - played 8 numbers in 43 minutes. I made faaarrr fewer mistakes than before!
  18. Another musician at an open mic night told me I was "Mellow.." Just sort of stood there and said "Ta", really...
  19. Nice cast, Timmo. Hoping for a bite...
