  1. I had an AMAZING 2013 US Standard Fender Jazz which to me was every bit as good as the Foderas, Overwaters, ACGs, Modulus basses, etc. I've owned. I only sold it because I transitioned 100% to a 6er. It really was a case of playing a few (around 20 I'd estimate) until I found 'the one'.
  2. I deinfitely get it’s not everyone’s thing. This is a short clip a guy recorded on his iPhone at a show we did in June. It’s really quite hard for us to explain what we do live to be honest. http://listen.minuspilots.com/
  3. Here we are mate - it's definitely not to everyone's tastes! https://minuspilots.bandcamp.com/album/seeking-the-spheres
  4. I was in the same boat but I'm now 11 months in with a brilliant and super reliable drummer. We're a bass and drums duo playing original material touching the realms of modern classical/ambient/post-rock - ideally there would be three of us but quite frankly, I don't think we will bother with another member now because it's just too easy being the two of us. We turn up when we say, let each other know in good time if something does come up, etc. No nonsense at all. We're playing dates in France, Netherlands and Belgium in October and have a show in New York 5 December. It's been a great experience.
  5. It's mental that this hasn't sold. £435 is crazy cheap!
  6. What is your budget and would you consider second hand?
  7. A 1996 Mexican sunburst Fender Jazz I used for about two years before buying an American sunburst Fender Jazz.
  8. I currently own just a Fodera Emperor 6 but I am going to buy 2 basses soon - 1 US Fender Jazz and 1 US Fender Precision.
  9. Beautiful bass... and £6249 cheaper than the Emperor II Elite 5 that Bass Direct have for sale currently.
  10. Wow. That is seriously incredible! PMd.
  11. Nice! What you getting?
  12. Yes I know why the string tree is there - It's just that I personally don't like them that's all.
  13. Can't you return it for a refund?
  14. My only real critique is the incorporation of a string tree.
  15. I personally prefer having the jack on the front for the very reason that it gives me the option of sitting or standing. I don't have an issue with the look of it either actually. I've just commissioned my first Fodera build - it's costing a fair amount but I'm obviously comfortable otherwise I wouldn't have proceeded. I play 6ers and my tastes are generally quite conservative/boring - I find they're one of the few builders who make extended range basses that I like the look of - I've gone for an Emperor 6 by the way.
  16. Yes a Gruvgear duo is a great choice. Also maybe one of these? https://www.amazon.co.uk/SoloStrap-4-0-Inch-Guitar-Strap-Black/dp/B00V8299XS/ref=sr_1_sc_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1526296667&sr=1-1-spell&keywords=gruvgeat+strap+4
  17. This won’t be around long.
  18. Part of it is that he's obviously able to command that amount because people are prepared to pay it.
  19. And there I was thinking this was going to be a discussion about the song.
  20. I bought a pair of secondhand SL112s for £800 from somebody on here and imported two brand new TH350s from Los Angeles for £630. I acknowledge that they are expensive but I do love them.
  21. Walnut body - here we are. https://fodera.smugmug.com/Newborn-Gallery-Vol-IV/Newborn-949
  22. Nice one. I thought the beginning sounded quite Rothko actually.
  23. My new bass arrived today. I'm super pleased with it.
  24. Any recommendations for a 6-string bass stand? Anybody use the Hercules GS414B Guitar Stand successfully with a 6-string bass? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000EEHKVY/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza
