I'd agree with the above, I have a second hand F1 that is use as a spare/ back up head. It's great because I can chuck it in my gig bag, but it's powerful enough to look after itself when used in my big rig! It does indeed come with rack ears and I think the 2nd hand prices make it very attractive even to use as just a power amplifier! So very light!

As I have a preference for Speakons for speaker connections I bridged my LH1000 and daisy chained from the head to the first 410 and out of the first in to the second. If you want to make use of the balance control then option A will allow this. It is disengaged when you bridge the two 500w power amplifiers together for option B I'd not do option 3 even if you do use the balance control to attempt to mute channel B. it is infact still outputting signal, but you won't have a speaker connected.

hartke hydrive 1x15 - 500W power rating discrepancy?
Dood replied to steve-bbb's topic in Amps and Cabs
I'd take both the eBay lister and the TalkBass posts with a pinch of salt as it says nothing about how the cabinet or indeed about how the gear is being used. e.g. driving excessive low end (sub frequencies) in to it. I'd say that about any person making general comments about any gear. There's no fact in the reference to the power handling. I could make a speaker cabinet 'fart out' with not a great deal of power which could lead to premature failure of the speaker. Or maybe, just unlucky, the guy had a faulty cabinet? It does happen after all. -

Commenting on for sale section prices?
Dood replied to stingrayPete1977's topic in General Discussion
We've maintained the 'no commenting rule' throughout as not everyone has managed to maintain the decorum of BassChat when it comes to the peaceful and friendly environment we have here. - I mean, we're not a 'stereo-typical' forum - certainly nothing like any other I have been on. I'd urge potential buyers to stand by Caveat Emptor and to do their research before parting with your cash - you'd do the same when you bought a car right?? And basses are a WAY more valuable commodity than a motor!!! ha ha. I think it is right to drop the seller a line and have a polite chat about the price - If they are a n00b then it helps to invite them in to the community if we are supportive. If the thread has gone awry then contact myself or one of the other moderators. Use the report button, which is very effective - all the Mods get to see the report and we can then deal with appropriately. I think that if anyone is selling an item for too high a price, then they are probably going to realise it's on the high side if it doesn't shift. and finally, those selling kit - as Pete says, doing a bit of homework - use closed For Sale ads to see if you can find similar pieces of gear and their prices - or indeed Google. It is your friend! -
It's a bump for a bargain! Selling to fund a bigger purchase and aged knows I should be putting a higher price on this fine example! Would love to have a deal sorted asap, it will be going on eBay soon with a higher starting price. this price is exclusive to my fine BassChat friends and I won't I'm afraid be lowering it. That would be crazy! I can arrange a 'meet half way' within an hour or so journey for fuel cash or you are more than welcome to come over for a good playing session. Shipping will require some sort of solid case. You can either send one through, or pay extra and I will source a new one locally to ship the bass in. This bass is too precious to stick in a cardboard box and I'd prefer collection. I will hold the bass with a non refundable deposit subject to time/amount etc. Ok, so talk to me people! PM me so that I get a notification to my Mobile (fairly instantly) and I will endeavour to reply as soon as possible! 700 of your fine English pounds to seal a deal!
....so not 70s P bass weight then?
I've got a CIJ 70's reissue and it's light as a feather! - But yes, I know what you mean, some of the 70's P's were heavy! - Well, it's a 6er and has a lot of hardware on board, so it's not lightweight, but even me with my bad back didn't struggle. It balances well - it's substantial but not ridiculous.
