  1. Further to my last, as they say. Just found a snap of my 7er.
  2. Many years ago, a bass chatter actually worked out that the dots form a sort of scale.. a weird one mind, but that wasn't the plan. Both my 7 and my 6 string have the same inlay. I guess you could call it a single strand of a DNA helix. We originally planned (or rather I had the crazy idea) of having a complete DNA design across the fretboard. but it just looked daft. I guess we had the same view as Josie is having about LEDs in general. It was just way over the top and from a distance made no sense whatsoever. So one single thread winding down the fretboard ended up being a way more tasteful and stylish addition. Interestingly, the original design that started life on my 7 string was made up of clear blue dots. It looked understated on the massive bird's eye maple fretboard. When I came to commission the 6 string headless, we went with the same colour scheme, electronics, everything so I had a 'little sister' to the big 7er. However, unbeknownst to me, Jon Shuker was hatching a plan. A very thoughtful and kind gesture which he surprised me with when I went to collect my six string. Somehow he'd managed to keep secret that the blue dots were not blue dots.. Imagine my surprise when he flicked up the switch and my new fretboard lit up! I don't have the LEDs on all the time. Sometimes they go on just for fun and that's what they are for. No big "hey look at me" moments or ego boosts needed
  3. Apologies for not replying sooner! I have to say that you know what, you're right. Your cabs etc should have plenty of bite. I'd give EBS_freak's suggestion a go! (The TD650 is one of my favourite amps)

    Line 6 Helix.

That's a shame! I've just had ten minutes just to muck around with mine and I am finding that I am getting closer to the sounds in my head than ever before. Sure, I'd love HX FX to be able to do all of that so I can have an even smaller box to gig with, but this thing is making my life really easy. I'm becoming more comfortable with using Line 6 Native too, so I can take my recorded sounds out with me without too much fiddling. Stick with it a bit longer maybe Nick? Will you still be working on those extender buttons or anything like that?
  5. It would be entirely possible, but not in this case.
  6. Try this one. Maybe Instagram images don't show, hmmm.. can anyone else see it?
  7. Any excuse, here are mine:

    Markbass

At a total load impedance of 1.6 ohms I wouldn’t recommend it with these kinda amps
  9. Hey isteen, I think the classic can do top end, so I’d ask what bass/cabinets you are using with the EBS? Could help in diagnosing where your sparkle is
  10. When I saw the title of this thread I wondered if it was a new phenomenon. Courier Con, like ComicCon, or a convention trade show.. Couriers meet to swap, buy and sell dented van doors. Have competitions to see who can rev the most amount of black smoke out of their engines. Then see who has the noisiest door slam or who can shout the longest meaningless abuse at passing motorists in a single breath. Prizes for who can throw a parcel the farthest without looking and best excuse for not actually showing up at an address.

I would also love an option to backup to cloud too. That would be great. I lost some amazing patches when I had to format my iPad. Totally forgot that they would be wiped out.
  12. Rich jumped on the train today for a nice sunny trip to my homestead and we had a good afternoon talking bass and is now the owner of one of my bass cabs. A pleasure to deal with and happily paid up front before coming to collect said wee beasty! Brilliant. Nice to meet Rich and a thumbs up from me to another BC long timer. Dan
  13. Echoing the above! Paul bought a pedal from me, super quick payment and spot on comms. Yup, no problems here at all Thanks Paul!
  14. Without the budget it is unlikely to happen, but I do really want to try out Steinberg's Dorico, which is already in to it's version 2 release. The adverts look like it might be a great app, but possibly way more than the average punter needs.
  15. Ooh! I've not heard of that one. I've been using Guitar Pro 7 but have been meaning to give the (free) MuseScore a go - Adam Neely I notice recommended this recently so all the more reason for me to actually try it after having the app installed for..well.. probably a year ha! Thanks for the suggestion. I'm always looking for something easy to use.
  16. £130 for a basic set for our subs is a bit outside my budget, so I think I might continue the scrims route for now.
  17. I just googled "sub safe" and it return the first answer: https://subsafeaudio.com
  18. Yes let me know! In terms of my basic understanding of electronics (I have forgotten way more than I remember these days) most off the shelf headphone driver op-amps are capable of driving down to very low impedances. I'm not sure what Shure would use in their kit, but I can't imagine it was anything proprietary for the job of driving headphones. Maybe the 9 Ohms thing is just precaution?
  19. H2n is great! - Just a quick post to say that it only has four microphones in. Two arranged in MS format the other in XT format. You can set the H2n to either record the pairs down to stereo as a single file or you can have files for both the front facing and rear facing microphones. The latter would allow you to mix to taste in your DAW of choice. Interestingly though, I seem to get more headroom in the latter setting on the dial rather that the 'mix down to stereo' settings, meaning that in a loud situation I have to go with separate files. In a small rehearsal room with the amps cranked, you will peak the inputs even with the gain all the way down on the stereo setting. That said, the H2n is a little blinder and I find it fairly useful. - Especially, as in a video I recorded ages ago (long since gone now) I demonstrated using the H2n's live microphone output feed as an IEM or 'active hearing protection'. Very cool. H4n Pro looks amazing as it has a much higher SPL capacity, which I believe is up to 140dB? Not that I will need THAT much, but I could do with a little more on the H2n. Tough choice: small compact and awesome little dude that has it's limits or it's big brother with lots of additional functionality, but is much larger for the gig bag.
  20. Oh right, I hadn't spotted a minimum impedance on my own devices (errr, maybe I should look ha ha) but that could prove to be a bit of a confusion point for many a consumer who won't wanna risk damaging their arm and a leg priced IEMs. Hmmm!
  21. 'Can' even lol
  22. I was thinking that if we got scrims, we could hide a tiny sniper behind one. It'd be like that old kids game, Tin Pan Alley..
  23. They certainly do deliver cinema levels of surrounding low end, that I agree! Well, I've been off sick this week and my head probably isn't seeing it, but I picked out the 6Ohm impedance, which seems ridiculously low for any IEM. Though off the top of my head, I'm not sure that will be a problem for low powered devices running from batteries. Nah, you got me!
