What numpty paid 385 quid for that! Goes to show, there`s always a sucker about. Like the bit about not knowing where the volume and tone knobs were. Lemmy`s got them in his back pocket I imagine. You can ask the next time you are having a chat with him. Jez

I, like Clarky, have a love of T birds due to Lord Pete of the Way. I have owned 3- 2 Epi bolt on and 1 Epi pro. They are one of the coolest looking basses on the planet but you need a left arm 4 foot long to play an F on the E string or the body down at your knees and the neck around your left shoulder. This is the reason that me and Tbirds just don`t get along. Jez
Update on this guys, meeting up with Bassassin this weekend, had good offers from a few of you(and appreciate it)but Assassins minutes down the road saving posting etc...plus his Ibanez is the same colour as my bike lol (Yam R1)
Ah Bassassin you old desert fox! Using the old "the bass matches the colour of your motorbike" ruse. No wonder we beat Jerry in 45. Jez

It sure ain`t no Fender Jazz Steven. But they have a sound all of their own and nothing (and I don`t care what anyone else says regarding ATK`s AND G&L`s) sounds the same as them. Great basses. Had one for a while but after having it slung over my shoulder for 3 hours, it was starting to give my shoulder jip due to the weight. But it sounded great and looked the biz! I think that you will enjoy it. Are you gonna see sense and stop buying Epiphones now? Jez
Nut width? (The bass - not yours!)
Spookilly I just measured this and it`s 40mm. Nah talking mince, it`s 44mm. But it doesn`t feel like that as the neck is not very large in your hands. You would need to come round and see it. I have a Jap 57 reissue p bass neck and it feels like a club next to Bob. Jez

Just a wee extra. I read an interview with Rod a few years ago and he mentioned that the guy who co wrote Maggie May, Michael Quittenton, went slightly nutty and lost the plot..... Jez

Steven. Have you tried Sammy Dows in Nithsdale st Glasgow? Your knid of music would go down well in there. Unlike us who died the death of a thousand deaths! Try Rockers in Midland st, McSorleys in Jamacia st and The Clutha Vaults in Stockwell st. Also, there is an overabundance of your type of band, all trying to get the same gigs, so my advice would be to get a decent demo, get out there and see as many bands as possible and as said before, get talking to the people who book the bands and try and build up a relationship with them. It`s the old chicken and egg syndrome, they book people they know. Jez

I got this a couple of weeks ago from Krispn in a trade but need some cash, so am looking to move this on. It`s a great bass, in great condition, just some light scratches on the back, on the poly finish which isn`t through to the wood. I am looking for £575 collected or meet up within reason or £590 posted. I will also take a part exchange for a cheaper bass, your bass plus cash for the Lakland. Any questions fire away..... That`s really impressive looking! Like the idea of a self build cab. How did you get the carpet covering to fit so well? Might have a go at one meself...... Jez

Frog dude! I think that finding people who have their own transport, can play, are reliable, able to commit time to gig and reherse and is not a total twonk head can be quite difficult. There is always 2 or three people on Glasgow gumtree looking for bassists. Go for it and enjoy yourself and if you are playing through this way, gies a holler. Jez
One of the adverts during the World Cup coverage includes a Focus track, which I think is 'Hocus Pocus'. How great is that? They must be minted now...and good luck to them.
Pete The track was written by Van Leer-organ, flute and yodelling? and Akkerman-guitars. Sadly for Akkerman, he gave up his royalties to his wife when they got divorced!! What a bummer. They are still a great band and well worth seeing as already mentioned by some knowlageable chaps. Jez

Flippin heck. They are dropping like flies recently. We always play you really got me and all day of the night and they always go down a storm in the 2nd set. Strangley, he is in the bass tabs section of Guitar and Bass mag this month and it mentions that he was the first guy to own a Ricky 4001 (I think) in the UK and then Chris Squire and the others followed. RIP buddy
