  1. Having visited Bloopdad, I can confirm, he has indeed got too many basses (only kidding matey!) But I can confirm "the thing" is quite a beast, but it sounded great in Bloopdads' hands. It seems even more intriguing in the flesh. Rest assured BC members, the seller is a great guy to deal with GLWTS
  2. I'm sure this will be up to your usual high standard Jabba Looking great so far
  3. I was off P basses for a long time. But this was because I once had a 1970's Fender P, and it was heavy as hell, and the neck felt huge. Not just wide, but deep too... Much to chunky for my liking - yet I liked the sound of it, and the general "feel" of the quality, construction etc Nowadays, as the years roll on, weight has become more of an issue, and whether I wanted one or not, that old 70's P would do my shoulder, and possibly my back in. I've also found that I really like the modern C profile / shape P bass neck, and that it's not so much the width of a P bass that I don't like. I can cope with that. I don't mind a narrower, deeper neck either But I just don't like necks to be wide AND deep (fussy old git eh? lol) What I have noticed, from playing Fender Japan Precisions, is that they tend to be P bass width, but shallower - and for some reason, all the Fender Japan necks I've tried have just felt lovely and comfortable. What amazes me, is that even after quite a few years, Fender necks can feel so different from one another - even those from similar eras Yes, everyone needs a P bass in their armoury. Personally, I really like a P/J too. I find that often works for me, no matter what I'm playing - I'll get a sound I like, and one that cuts through, or sits just right in the mix Have fun, and good luck with your search for your "ultimate P bass"
  4. If I didn't already have a full compliment of Sunburst Fenders - I'd be all over this I keep saying it, but I've not played a bad MIJ / CIJ Fender yet GLWTS richardd
  5. Lovely colour, and I must admit, I'd like to hear it, with those pickups GLWTS - looks great value for that sort of money
  6. I may now consider trades on this bass. Possibly a MIJ Precision (I'm fancying one in off-white), or a Squier Classic Vibe P bass (plus a bit of cash against this bass) But no Sunburst please (I like it, but already have sufficient S/B basses) EDIT: I'm also on the lookout for a Markbass EVO bass head (or something similar, with 2 inputs)
  7. Me too - I really regret letting mine go.... but I have too many Doesn't stop me GASsing for this one, of course!
  8. Nice looking off-white P bass. Looks the biz with either plate I think
  9. Yes, I agree - I think you're going to find it hard to sell this if you don't post some photos
  10. I'm becoming more & more convinced I need a Nate Mendel P bass! lol
  11. I was sorely tempted by one of these sometime back - before I got a Roadworn Jazz back in my hands again.... They really do look superb. I like blocks & binding on a neck anyway, particularly either black on a maple board, even more so these Pearl on Rosewood here And that Green is a lovely colour too GLWTS matey
  12. Hmmmm, I've been thinking about maybe either a MIJ Precision, or possibly a Squier Classic Vibe - Then maybe moving on one of my other basses (changing plans slightly) I miss my old Squier CV Precision! lol
  13. Looks great, I must say
  14. Ah, all is explained. Is the Moolon that good then Daveyboy?
  15. Thought you were never parting company with this one Daveyboy? Nice..... very nice GLWTS type bump for a great BC member
  16. That does look like a really nice Bitsa. Yes, they never seem to achieve a higher price range - unless they're Fender branded components etc I've got a nice fretless (MIJ Jazz)...... or this would be very tempting GLWTS
  17. Yes, I realise that - but I thought I'd message the guy first - give him the chance to take it down.... he responded very quickly, telling me he was going to take it down And thanking me for getting in touch to let him know. He took it down shortly afterwards.
  18. I messaged him via eBay too. So he should have had enough messages about it now Lets see if he takes it down.
  19. Good price for one of these with the extras. Good intro for someone looking to try upright GLWTS Richard
  20. Hello and welcome to the forum
  21. Good to hear you opted for the Entwistle pickup. I keep telling people how good they are - heck they punch so far above their weight, for the price They could double the price and they'd still be great value! Yes, an off-white, creamy aged looking pearloid scratchplate would complete the look for this bass NOTE: Before you open up the pickup slot - your Entwistle pickup should fit into a "standard" pickup cover.... I picked a set up for about 4 quid on eBay.... Try this first, and you may find the magnet poles align better, without the need to file / dremmel your new scratchplate
  22. Interested. What is it? I've got a fretless that I rarely use - just noodle with it really, and have recorded with it Think I've only used it live twice - and only for one or two songs at that.... But I wouldn't want to be without a fretless now EDIT: Don't forget to post some pics
  23. £150 for an 80's MIJ quality bass? - This is an absolute steal Surely someone will snap this up now?
