  1. I remember you saying when we were discussing a "Funkmaster" bass. I live in nearby Gourock. We tend to have death grip like hand exercises 🤣 The other thing to remember, is to make sure your hands are warmed up before attempting any of the exercises, or you could end up doing more damage than good. It's also worth taking any pain relief (if you're on any) about 20 minutes before your work out. I've found that helpful.
  2. @TheGreek That looks like the legendary "Braeside Fighting Hand" positions
  3. I remember my old Trace Elliot manuals saying don't put the master any higher than 4, which I think was about 10 o'clock. The rest of the control was only if you were using it as a pre-amp into another amp. Possibly something like this ?
  4. Why not just tell us what the amp is ?
  5. A physio gave me this tip, which helps. Always run, or bathe your hands in hot water for a bit before playing
  6. Same. Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, CFS, and all that goes with it. It's getting for 18 years since my last band, and I'm still dreaming about gigs we played/wanted to play every night. I just do what I can, when I can. My calluses are gone. Not enough playing. A lot of the time I'm just too tired to concentrate. (Must be all them nocturnal gigs, eh ? ) As I got worse, I stopped being able to get out and about and haven't seen anyone from any band I've played with for years. Basschat helps a lot, but there's no substitute for a good gig. Keep at it as long as you can, but don't overdo it. Take care.
  7. Please send your Stingray to me, and I'll buy you another "Fauxdera"

    Oh Lordy

Between having crap, almost hollow walls, and the chance of hitting a cable or a pipe, wall hangers are off the menu for me. Back on topic, I'd have to do a "one out, one in job". The trouble is I can never make my mind up which one I want out
  9. As am I + Certainly hope so
  10. I've failed miserably again. I've bought a Scarlett 18i20 3rd gen interface to be used as a feeder for my Presonus Quantum 2626 via ADAT, and small mixer duty when the PC is off. Theoretically I've been told it will do this, but if not I'll send it back. So *could* be back in later
  11. One 5 string is enough for me. Even then I keep threatening to sell it
  12. Sold my FM3 to get a FM9. I know what you mean
  13. HX Stomp. Plenty of Bass amp and cab sims, FX etc. It's also a good audio interface. Comes with free Cubase SE just now. However, I like Studio One
  14. Nah, SRF700
  15. I always feel there is one missing here....
  16. Dr Bonkers' Bass Guide for Axe III is a good start, and there is always Austin Buddy's Bass Pack to be going on with, but I doubt we'll see any more bass amps. I just don't think Cliff is interested in bass
  17. Great wee unit . I've just sold one, and missing it already This will go quick GLWTS
  18. Count me in too. Bought too much last year (again), though sold much of it to buy something else. I would make an exception for an Ibanez SRF700, but as I'm liable to be playing acoustic in the dark with our energy bills next year, it's unlikely.
  19. Me too. Thought it was 'flu, but tested positive for Covid this morning
  20. Probably my Fractal FM9. Had to sell lots of stuff but worth it in the end. Also my SSS Stingray, bought used from Bass Direct. It's now set up splendidly
  21. MiniMidi
  22. Failed miserably. Sold FM3, etc Bought FM9 Not really...I love it Definitely in it to win it in '23, so I had better get anything I need now Merry Christmas A'body
  23. Sold my C4 to Chaypup. Very nice guy and good to deal with Thanks
