    My first bass was a "Top Twenty" Woolworth's special. It had 3 strings, less a G when I got it, and stayed that way through every gig for the 2 years of that band. Don't get me wrong, I like the sound of a low B string, and I made sure I could get my thumb over it's very thin neck, but when cash is needed it's going.

It's never left our smoke free home, and has lived in it's Ibanez case for most of the time I've had it. I've tried my best, but a five string is not for me and I'd like some loot for my other ventures. I can't find a mark on this, apart from an very small indentation just behind the bridge, where I temporally had a GK3B on it (pic 5), and a very small mark on the body, but I think it's just part of the wood (pics 1 and 13). It plays well, sounds good, truss rod is fine. It does everything it should do.     There was a Roland GR33 that did a good one, but that's really a guitar synth. Though it might have been playable via midi in from a keyboard. There are a couple of VST versions, also there are two collections of pedal steel loops from Big Fish Audio. One VST is by Idiginus (sic) called "The Steel" which is a Kontakt instrument (full version only), and there is a really complicated one which I can't remember, but you can google it and Ueberschall.com's "Pedal Steel", and another one from ink-audio.com for Kontakt. Sorry for messy post, as stuff happening

    re plectrum Me too. I couldn't use a plectrum now to save my life. After seeing MM I thought if it's good enough for JM, it's good enough for me. Pity I don't have his talent though
