  1. Thanks v much! it’s a really nice bass and if it was wasn’t for an incoming Spector I’d be keeping it. Sensible offers considered !!
  2. Had the pleasure of selling my Fender USA Marcus Miller V to Steff - what a great guy, clearly a superb player and with exceptional taste in cars as well as basses! 😄 Steff, it was lovely to meet you and I hope you enjoy the bass - happy gigging and don't overdo it over Christmas - ha ha !! Best wishes David
  3. Sold to Stefan - great guy and clearly a great bass player too!
  4. Hi there - I would have done, but its just been sold. Sorry about that. If you are interested in my Fender USA Precision V See this listing.
  5. +1 for the KZ10 which I've been using for a couple of years now. Great Video and great bass playing - I found this comment in the Youtube comments section interesting: "a completely computer formatted show with metronome loop and voice countdowns. Even the audience participation on Let the Good Times Roll is formatted to eight bar patter and eight bar audience singing. Zero left to chance. Even their “walk out” is timed. The drone note is “in the can” and I have a feeling the background vocals on the first song are partially canned as well. I listened to Ben giving a lecture on his methodology and it was basically focused on discipline and preparation. So this makes perfect sense. Decisions are made, sequences are worked out and rigidly adhered to. He’s a gifted singer and a brilliant musician who also has a degree in business and marketing. Perfection is the goal. I have no problem with any of it." Maybe I should be less surprised at how "tight" some gigs are! That said, I heard "Ghost Note" at Ronnies a few months back - no in-ears in sight anywhere and an incredibly tight and funky set ! Show less
  6. It looks, sort of naked without strings !!🤨 Lovely bass though and GLWTS
  7. 4.1kg thanks. Which is light for a 5 string Fender !!
  8. Here you go!
  9. Much loved and used genuine US Marcus Miller 5 string from 2011. Very rare in black. Lovely maple neck with block inlays. Strung with Elixirs. Looks great on stage as you can see from the main photo but there are plenty of knocks & scratches which I’ve tried to photo. Electronics all original but I didn’t like the mismatching controls so it’s sporting all Black jazz ones. I’ve got the orginals and the chrome pickup cover. Happy to supply with either a genuine Fender road-worn hard case or a relatively new Thomann hard case. Only selling this and a Precision to make way for new Spector.
  10. Love this !! - brilliant !
  11. Thanks - that sounds like a really interesting role. Hope the automation doesn’t cut you out! The stuff that basschatters do never ceases to amaze me! ………so back to the original question, do we know who the actual bassist is (assuming it’s not programmed) or is it a whole variety of players?
  12. @LeftyP love what you did there! Must have been an labour of love (scuse the pun!!) Our “cafe church” event went pretty well. Most challenging for me was “a Christmas Overture” for which the words were adapted to fit our theme. There are some bass “stabs” with quite tricky timing (for me!) but I got there eventually. The original song is here: Sounded great in the room but lousy on livestream!!
  13. Well to answer your question @Stu-khag I’m not sure which episode as the Mrs deletes them after watching!! That said, my point was a general one about the nature of the bass bits - and they come in at odd points throughout each episode - I wasn’t thinking of the theme tune. So do you work/contract for the BBC then?!
  14. Me too - if I wasn’t already over my “quota” I’d be all over this!!
  15. So having been stuck at home during Covid, me and the Mrs got hooked on “Bargain Hunt” and it’s now on permanent “record”. What’s this got to do with basses I hear you ask?! Well has anyone else noticed the well executed and quite funky sometimes, bass riffs during the programme? I could swear whoever writes it is a bassist! Does anyone know who’s involved?!!! from a sad BH addict! (Well it’s cheaper than GAS!)
  16. I’m in the market for a Spector 5 string. Any chance of some better pics and more info re the spec, pickups, weight etc? cheers
  17. Anyone remember the techno disco “Show me Love” by Robin S. Well here is a cover by the very talented Charlie Moreno (track is his band “Powafunk”) His bass lines a super creative and quite difficult (for me!!) to replicate!
  18. Sorry to hear this Trevor, and hopefully you’ll find a new “home” where you can use your talents. First time I’ve posted on here but I’ve enjoyed reading your contributions. I’m the main bassist at a large church in Essex. It’s a full band, and I usually play a 5 string Fender PJ or JJ although with the curse of GAS have used loads of different basses over the years!! Signal goes into TC Electronic Staccato head with post-EQ D/I and although using IEM I like to also hear the low end via a Vanderkley cab. We control our own in ear mix via “Visi Listen” and use OnSong but I’m nowadays only using it for the occasional prompt. The stuff goes out on livestream with mixed results!
  19. Yes, someone please make it go away 😂
  20. Wow - great video, great band I've never heard of, and great bass playing GLWTS!
  21. That is a stunning finish and a lovely example of these basses. GLWTS 👍🏻
  22. Lovely 2016 USA Professional 5 string Precision bass in the relatively rare black/black/maple colour combination. The original Fender P Pickup has been replaced (included in the case) with a Seymour Duncan "Quarter Pounder". The bass has also had a SD Musicman Stingray Ceramic pickup professionally fitted in the bridge position making it a versatile instrument if you want more than the classic “P” sound (which it does brilliantly) The controls are volume/volume/tone. Bass is completely passive, so no battery worries in gigs!! Bass weighs in at a comfy 4.2kg on my scales, which is good for a 5 string Fender as many of you will know. Comes with original moulded hard-shell case and all the case candy including keys, truss rod tool, allen keys and info sheets. Collection from Essex or London or will arrange insured courier to you.
  23. Please make it stop!!! You’re killing me with these lovely 5ers!! 😂
  24. Me neither - it most certainly is orange! 😂 GLWTS
  25. Great basses these and excellent value for money imo. GLWTS 👍🏻
