1.
ordered a D and G for my double bass.. They send D and a FULL set , including the G in it. Shoudve kept quiet but tell them the error, thinking I could send E A D back... oh no , they want the full set back BEFORE they send a replacement for the G I have in my hand. Not very logical and not very Vorsch Sprung Technic if you ask me.
Why not just keep the strings ? you have told them about the mistake and it is going to cost you and them money to get it sorted so just keep the strings it is the most sensible thing to do
 2.
I only know of Steve using a heavy precision, extremely heavy flats and trace elliott amplifiers - I've never seen him using pedals live
Nor me I heard that he had his amps turned up so high that a roadie once strummed his bass with a plectrum and blew them I think Steve gets his sound from high volumes but just tickles the strings lightly maybe this how "his" sound is achieved?
 3. Hi dunc I see you are also looking for trades what kind of things are you after ie another bass or effects etc tanks
 4.
No the screw holes are different. Best to drill holes where the screws go before you fit the tuners. Those particular wilkinson tuners are bigger than the ones on your squier as they're based on vintage 70s ones. So they cover the screw holes left by your old tuners and the back of your headstock will look quite neat and tidy once they're fitted.
I get you cheers for that thanks
 5.
Measure the hole in the headstock. If it's 17.5 to 18mm it will fit the Wilkinson bushing (the circular thing that you fit in the hole before you fit the tuners). I just bought a set of these.and they fitted perfectly.http://www.chguitars...tuners-891.html
Why thank you kind sir Do the screw hole line up nicely also thanks
 6. Hi guys can anyone please tell me what model wilkinson tuners I need for my Squire VMJ please as I understand the hole for the Squire tuners are smaller than the standard Fender hole thanks in advance

 9.
I always leave feedback when im buying as i feel its the proper thing to do, i dont always get it back though which i think if your buying quite a bit of gear on here, which i do, its important for a seller to know who theyre dealing with.
Agreed I have bought lots of gear from here and have never had a problem and in honesty most people do leave feedback when they remember to do so but leaving feedback is vital as alot of transactions are done here in "faith" and it is nice to see who you are dealing with
 10.
Thanks for that!
No worries hope they are what you need

 12.
I have a set of twelve - but they are all metric. 17. I have just started to get into Rush not listened to that album yet but will do soon I am listening to Rush spirit of radio greatest hits and am loving it
 18. I always cut about 3 inches from the end of the tuning peg that the string is going on off on my bass
 19. This is great I use one and it is good value too http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://images.thomann.de/pics/prod/264101.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_powerplant_junior.htm&h=326&w=400&sz=46&tbnid=Dwd0Ay8pQk4XYM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=110&zoom=1&usg=__H_j5Zsiag9bqZg7dxPpHGwjOJA8=&docid=ebAWh-ndKDCv2M&sa=X&ei=qlkrUr7WBvOY0QWFvYDoCg&ved=0CDwQ9QEwAg&dur=622
 20. I am not in a band but I think if I was I would do it for enjoyment but if you get paid at least it pays for your gear and maybe a few extras
 21. Wow they look ace wouldn't mind trying one of those myself
 22. I am no expert but I was watching a video on youtube about this and the guy said it could be the bridge is wrongly adjusted or the strings are old and have a stretch in a certain place let me see if I can get the link to the video as I did not get it all but you might This is one of the vids http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEiaq0znGL8 the guy has a few others on there that could be relevant? hope this helps
 23. Hi Mates just wanted to let you all know incase anyone wants one of these in the future http://www.amazon.co.uk/Stellah-BB-02-Guitar-Fixed-Bridge/dp/B008JFTL6W they fit straight onto a squire VMJ all the screw holes line up perfectly its just a case of screw it on and all is good to go now apparently the bridge is made in the same factory as the Gotoh 201 I don't know if thats true but it is top quality and sounds great I am just tweaking (intonation etc) it now its taking me ages as I have not done it before but I am really pleased with it and the sound difference it makes is amazing to a standard bridge so if anyone is doing a bridge change on a budget this is a very good buy and hell of lot cheaper than the alternatives out there I hope this thread helps someone else out and cheers for the help guys
 24. Or use a larger screw but punch out the strap with a leather punch so it fits on the new bigger screw/pin
