1.
where do you go to upload them on the menu do I go into my controls please help me [email protected]
If it's an external one, then in both reply boxes (quick and full) there's a button with this picture, . Click it and you're presented with easy and straight forward box where you paste the url of the image in, BC will generate the code. If you want to upload them to BC, make sure you do a FULL reply (not quick) and just underneath where you type your reply is a box saying "Attachments". You can then upload an image from your home PC to BC and post it via clicking the browse button on the right and finding the picture you want to upload.
2. Telebass, I want to pick a hole in your post. You haven't actually said you've swapped a BBOT for a Badass, Hi-Mass or Gotoh on one bass. You may have played basses equipped with them, but obviously you won't notice the difference from what that bass previously sounded like with the BBOT as you've not experienced it. I've found thicker and stronger bridges do affect tone and sustain. I can definitely feel that the bass is more resonant with a Badass II compared to the BBOT on my Squier VMJ, and that the tone sounds a bit more substantial. Thicker if you will. The increase in sustain isn't helpful though for my style of playing. I'm erring towards WoT being right, good basses won't benefit, but flakey or average will.
3. Yeah, that's even worse imo. Like I said, new company website that's imcomplete and has no content = Mission and little bit of news. Under construction pages are so 1990's.
4. Cor blimey, talk about a rubbish website. Granted it is functional in terms of design, but if you've got no content for the love of god don't include the hyperlinks (or suggestions of hyperlinks) that go to blank pages, especially not when you're just starting up a company. Front page, mission statement and maybe a news feed. That's it.
5. Before people start going "I'm a lefty, but play right", I'll just throw a link up to the last thread we had on the topic, which is here, so that we keep on the op's topic. Now as for the hand strength and accuracy argument, it's actually probably better to learn the fretboard with your off hand as you'll not only be strengthening it, but when working on muscle memory (hand shapes, pressure, accuracy) you'd be starting from scratch and would have less items interfering with the learning process.
6. Tell the problem and we might be able to suggest fixes. Also, I like the fact you managed to find this section, post a thread (presumably by clicking the "New Topic" button at the top of the page) but still managed to miss the list of Recommened Luthiers at the very top of the page. This is the sticky you want.
7. Gotoh, Hipshot, Schaller...usual suspects do a Fender replacements. Look here on Allparts for examples of what I mean. Replacing the pickup won't do anything if the E is actually going flat. That's either the tuner slipping a bit (or the string not wound properly on it) or the string stretching (if they're new and not been stretched properly). This thread should be in Repairs/Technical issues imo. Welcome to BC though, go post a hello in the Introductions section
8. No Wayne. Not as anything other than a hobby for yourself. If I was going to get something refinished, I'd be wanting someone who not only did it frequently, but also had all the proper equipment (ala, proper spray booth and tools) to get a professional factory grade (or better) finish, so unless you fancy making it into a business, spending the capital and actually making a proper go of it, it's far too much hassle. Let alone the possible legal ramifications and issues that have already been mentioned.
9. If you read the sticky Alex posted it's because he's getting busy and does not want to spend time on forums and by the looks of it, non Bareface topics. If you need him, contact him directly. Which is fair enough for someone who is running a business producing products and is very much hands on.
10. I concur with earlier statements, tele guitar body with a bass neck. As Jon noted, that's not 34" scale, not by a long shot. Not quite sure about that control plate though, don't think Fender ever made a tele one with two single on/off switches in place of the 3 way. So I'd say it's a DIY jobbie.
11. If it wasn't for the Fender headstock and decal, it could have easily been a Peavey Milestone III. There's an excellent shot of it at 3:21 btw.
12. Sticky in Repairs and Technical Issues subforum for buzzing and humming: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=194 Also a link from the basschat wiki: http://www.frets.com/FRETSPages/Luthier/Te...s/buzzlist.html
13. Kinda cool, I definitely appreciate the improving skills being shown on there. The final instruments are markedly better than the first couple.
14. Wow, you lot are certainly in a bitchy mood for the start of the new year.
15.
Stacks of info here - http://wiki.basschat.co.uk/info:amps:impedance_and_wattage It's written by some very knowledgeable people and should tell you all you need to know
Yes. Read that sticky. READ IT.
16. I like the fact it's got 8 bids and is at $56. Some people have no sense or they have money to burn.
17. I think it's just that time of the month for dear ol' Burpster. Personally, while I don't use mutes, and hardly use muting for the songs I play, I think it looked like a proper quality bit of kit with its individual mutes and what looked to be a spring based tensioner to keep the mutes in place when you're playing the string, and I can see how it would be awesome in sets where you need to flick between sounds depending on the songs. I could even see it being handy mid song, muted verse and unmuted chorus perhaps.
18.
Wire wool to remove the gloss from the finish - you don't need to strip it to the wood, and it'll take about 10 minutes. And if you don't like it & want it shiny again, 10 minutes with T-Cut will sort that out. If you do use wire wool, keep it away from your pickups - in fact removing the neck completely is the best idea. Jon.
+1 Infact, do it in a seperate room. My VMJ is still has the odd bit of wirewool around the pickups from when I wire-wooled the neck on a different guitar.
19. Could be a number of things. Dirty pots as already mentioned. Pot could have actually died, rare but if it was a poorly manufactured one that could be it, more likey is that there's a dry/loose connection on your EQ board or that the EQ board has died. It could also be new battery time, some EQ's are quite particular for some reason. As for "is it an Aussie thing", on a UK based forum where one of the owners is a Kiwi (now back in NZ as well), which is open to any nationality, and where a number of people including myself have family in Aus? No. You pillock.

21.
Not quite stupidly easy but Donny Hathaway's Little ghetto boy is the one I get the most pleasure from.
*snigger*
22.
it's not unpopular, it's had 15 bids, i think the low price is down to buyers chancing their arm, basically being cheeky f***ers. It'll creep up, one automated bid at a time... Buyers are still under the impression they have the advantage, and sellers seem to still be touching their toes! I'd give this guy a grand for that bass.
You do realise it ended on the 13th right? That's seriously cheap for a Lane Poor fitted Flea Bass, but I think it's both a casulty of the recession and the fact Flea publically pulled away from Modulus.
23.
Have you tried one? They really are super...
No, but if I was buying one to play and spending nearly a grand on it, I think I'd much rather buy a better specc'd MIA Standard for roughly the same price and find a good one of those, what with it having a better bridge, graphite reinforced neck for stability and the lovely rolled fingerboard edges. Then again, I don't have any strong feelings towards needing to have a used looking over an actual used bass.
24. £899 for a MIM? For that price you'd get a current '09 MIA. Granted, it wouldn't have the relic job, but it would be a better bass and also hold it's value more.
