1. Need to update mine a bit. Also here's a picture of my action at the last fret: Vigier Passion GK by chiscocks, on Flickr Vigier Passion GK by chiscocks, on Flickr Vigier Passion GK by chiscocks, on Flickr
  2. Argh it seems the site shows the same as you've set on yer' mobile, rather than remembering your preference on each device. We're on it.
  3. Hi guys The mobile site should now be fixed. We're looking into image uploading and the blobs next to topics now. Thanks ped
  4. Make sure you go and see the back in Yneslas (sp?) above Borth, about 20 mins drive out of Aber. Amazing beach.
  5. Hi Chris I went to uni in Aberwotsit. It was a great time, 3 years of hard work but the social life was great. I'm not the 'clubbing' type so Aberystwyth's range of pubs and bars suited me just fine. It was great for live music, too. My band played in most venues around the town and further afield in Birmingham etc. There was a music shop of sorts but it was just your average small town shop selling sheet music and Performance Percussion drums, nothing to rave about. It was during this time I was doing lots of trading on BC as a result! Let us know how you get on - I'd recommend 'Rummers' bear the bridge for live music, they used to have some fairly cool people on. I don't know what's there now, I left in 2006 and haven't been back. I don't think I ever will because it was such a cool time being there with my friends I like to have it as a excellent memory. Cheers ped
Probably A
Aha! I see now, it's because you placed an order, as opposed to a donation. Those go elsewhere for processing, hence no email from me. Of course we appreciate it just as much as a donation, but my workflow deals with those emails separately. So, a big thanks from me for your order. I went to see Dave today and his back office is like a sorting room! He even went out specially to buy you a padded envelope yesterday Cheers ped
With the lanyards you could have done a plug for the site & had an "Access All Areas" pass already in it, ready for any meets. Just make sure it's a Basschat logo complete with a "B" or, as previously highlighted, it could have been really awkward .
LOL great idea, might work.

OK I've just emailed everyone who donated to say thanks. Very kind of you all. We're almost able to pay Ben now for his time and now saving up to pay for the upgrade to the latest forum software that should solve one or two small bugs around the place. I also realised most of you are called Michael. Cheers and please consider donating if you haven't done so yet, as it will go right back to your forum. ped
  12.
So I'll ask my question again - how does one bump in the new classfieds? Thanks for any info
Check out the first post
  13.
I'm slightly confused about what we're supposed to do as buyers and sellers. As buyers do we have to look in both places now ? I mean, are sellers being asked to post in both the forum and the classifieds ? Can I rely on finding any given for-sale item in the forums when I search ? Or is there a recommendation to use classifieds only from now on ? Or ... what exactly ?

Sorry, Ped, you didn't answer a single one of my questions. 'Or what ?' Doesn't count as a question but I'd like to know about the others.
There's two sections at the moment, and when the new section is ready the old one will be closed to new posts. What you do in the meantime is up to you... use as you see fit. Thanks

At that point we'll close the old forum but leave it visible for a while whilst we change over. I admit its a bit confusing right now but it'll all be ok in the end
  15.
topic in 'general' deleted till classifieds is finished. thanks ted
Cheers ted let's see how it looks. The plan is to use it for a month (from full completion) and then have a feedback sesh. Look forward to hearing opinions then, Many thanks ped
  16.
If it's going to cost development money to finish the classifieds, I'd think long and hard before carrying on... removing the classifieds from the everyday community is a massive backwards step, and I can see no good come of it. Just my tuppenceworth..
No it's all sorted. Just the developer has had to leave it for a bit due to other commitments but we'll be done soon. Thanks for the feedback, we'll see. If it doesn't work, we won't carry on with it!
  17. I'm on my phone so if you could delete your post it would be appreciated, or delete the content and title and contact a mod to remove. Thanks.
  18. Hi ted. Thanks, however to avoid confusion I'd like to create such a thread when and if the time comes if that's ok Like I said, wait until its had a fair trial and let's see! Thanks ped!
  19.
This a a classic 'it wasn't broken but we've fixed it'... Who was complaining about the old 'market place' forum?? It was, and is. running perfectly well. This is really annoying to be honest.
Thought I had already explained it somewhere - it's to raise some funds for the development of the forums. We felt this was the fairest way to do it and want to at least try it and refine it as we go. Sure it'll divide opinion, but that's natural. Remember how many people HATED the new forum software? It's also much easier to work with for our mods. The fact of the matter is that we simply need a way if generating some cash and this is the fairest way to do it. I, and lots of other members, like it too. I think once its all done you'll find it really attractive and easy to use, especially as a potential buyer or browser. Can we all chill out, wait until its finished, try it and then either modify it or change it? We have got other ideas and we can always have a re think so don't worry. If anyone else has any other ideas we could use, shoot! Cheers ped
Hi. Just donated. I'm not a frequent poster, but I do love this site. If funds are tight for the site - if you love this place - I'd say donate a few quid, everyone! Cheers. jbn4001
Thanks everyone. We're just talking to a developer for some long term support and the recent donations are greasing the wheels. This will make us be able to bring in the support and modifications you want. Cheers
  21.
Ped... Is there a possibility that the clickthrough ratio on ads has dropped since the constant thread updates problem began? It must have affected traffic to the site, surely?
Yes we're feeling the difference mainly due to the mobile theme issues.
  22. Meant to say - the new section, when finished, will be customisable to allow threads below the posts etc. However that'll cost some dosh so until we start making some we'll adapt as we go.
