1. I'm hoping to get a VB99 soon.. I'm happy with my bass and haven't SERIOUSLY craved another for 10 years or so. Although it's nice to have options. Hmm. OK a LeFay Singer 5 and the spalted top Kubicki for sale here on BC. Please!
2. 'STR Cool' sound clip is pretty cool
3.

It even has it's own little sofa
4.
This is Danny from Bass Japan Direct. Didn't catch this till now, and thank you Gary Mac! No you wont need to pay 25% tax if you use our new Facebook store instead of Ebay, or go direct through our website. We have ways and means! Why not just contact us direct, visit our facebook page www.facebook.com/bassjapandirect and see what people are saying there. We have a good reputation so far with many happy customers all over the world (admittedly mostly in the US), most of whom avoid using eBay due to their exorbitant commission fees which pushes up the listed prices! Thank you for your interest and feel free to contact us if you are interested in anything. Best regards Danny
Danny - we've spoken about advertising tax evasion before - probably not a good idea
5. Sounds interesting. I'm an avid V-Bass user and just about to upgrade to the VB99 so this should be a pretty synthy time in my house

Any pics?
7. I went to TC a couple of years ago and I found them all very attractive
8. This stuff is great http://www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Double-Automotive-Number-Plates/dp/B009IQCET2 I bought a little bubble pack of 5/6 strips which I cut down to size from a camping store. Very tough and leaves no residue, and it doesn't make the ashtray bounce around like foam tape.
9. Yep - no pound sign and no decimal places. Numbers only
10. Yeah it's an issue on iOS 9 and Chrome... seem OK on Safari.
11. I do it all by feel but I like a straight neck with very little relief. I don't have a truss rod so luckily it's right for me but being graphite it hasn't moved since 1988. I like the action as low as possible so it clanks slightly when I dig in. 12.
Oooooo!!!! Look what I found on Facebook!
I told them I wasn't able to play this year!! Better tell them
13. I think it was the excitement of this that gave Dood a nosebleed And here I am meeting Patrice Vigier, who was just a charming bloke although he looks a bit star struck here obviously
14.
I've asked them if they do (or are planning to do...) a high 'C' for fretless 6-string (30 gauge or the like..?), but haven't had a reply yet. If I can get a whole set I'll buy 'em, as they seem good for what I need from a bass, judging from the feedback so far here. I'll be back if I get a reply...
They do a medium gauge C (0.032) in Nickel, part no. 15332
15. Am I right in thinking the most recent Nightwatchman album is the one with a 'full band'? Or have I got that completely wrong.. (Which one's best for metal)
16.
For me it's definitely my Tom Marceau bass. I can have all the 3 "main" bass sounds (pbass, jbass, MM) while retaining its character. I've rarely played a bass that could fit so much voicing while retaining its own identity. (And it's also dead confortable and the Low B is surprisingly good for a 31" bass!)
That looks great! I'm not normally a fan of single cuts but it just looks so balanced and I bet it feels great.
17. Lovely looking bass, and great sound clip. Really dig your playing. Bass has a lovely sound to it... and it looks so unusual.
18. Just a heads up - BC haven't 'endorsed' this promotion in any way - although we'll let it stay here we weren't asked about it beforehand so as others have said, be careful!
19. Although I think my Vigier bass is very flexible and suitable for most things, it's since I installed the Vbass pickup that I can truly call it a 'Swiss Army Knife' as it now does a perfect MM, Jazz and P bass impression too (those of you at the SEBB a few years ago would have heard it) I agree that a lot of the sound is in the playing but you simply can't create a MM sound with a P bass and vice versa, so it's nice to have them on tap. ped
20.
I found that using nickel strings on my Flea really helps it. It softens up the sound somewhat. You still get that searing clarity but with a rounder edge. SS strings really enhance the treble/top end, which this bass has no small amount of naturally anyway!!
Elixir Nickels, for this exact reason
21.
Well,I tried the method................nada! I did notice that it says I have used 31.52MB of my 30MB upload quota!
Hi there In that case you can clear some room. Go to your name in the top right, then click 'my settings' then 'manage attachments' Will check tomorrow and make sure you've got it sorted! Cheers
22. Here you go! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/265885-ampeg-svt-head-and-mesa-410-cab-both-flightcased-l350-each/ And probs let me know Cheers
23. I play in D all the time and use light strings. I love the lower tension and the clank you can get from digging in. I thought about getting a D tuner to drop the D to a B and even thought about putting one on the A string too. Floppiness aside, would a standard D tuner drop a D to a B? Or an A to an E?
24. Time for a 'Show us yer' graphite' thread? Edit: Graphite basses, not any other graphite you might own, like pencils
25. There's a consistency and a sort of compressed clarity that I love about graphite necks. Personally I prefer them, especially their stability. If you're making a bolt on it would be interesting to try both. I had both on a Stingray and the graphite one stayed on. My main bass has a graphite neck and no truss rod so it's lucky it suits me as it hasn't, and can't be adjusted!
