  1. Yup thanks guys, we're on it.
  2. Not sure but that could be the thing we have now cleared, but awaiting news.
  3. Last time this happened it was because the site was effectively added to a list when it was hacked, but once it was fixed the name remained on the list until we requested it to be cleared. I also remember it being the case that it's very unlikely that any data on users or accounts was accessed as they are behind a lot of security. The 'hack' merely accesses some basic front end software. ped
  4. [quote name='JensWest' timestamp='1353360328' post='1874286'] Never mind... Just found it. [/quote] Aye, though it isn't fully finished so please check back in a few days!!
  5. [quote name='JensWest' timestamp='1353358993' post='1874267'] It sais "Account Suspended" when I click either of the links in post #1... [/quote] Yes that was the test site which has since been closed.
  6. [quote name='andydye' timestamp='1353350294' post='1874119'] Maybe a withdrawn button rather than a delete one? Mods periodically delete completed threads anyway doncha :-) [/quote] Lol. OK we'll check it out.
  7. [quote name='pete.young' timestamp='1353347742' post='1874061'] A delete button would be a great loss. It's very handy to be able to view old For Sale threads in the current forum when you're trying to price an item (for sale or purchase). I'm also guessing that the picture on the forum listings isn't showing up because the picture upload facility doesn't work. An option to make it all smaller would be an improvement: currently on my laptop I can see about 10 listings on the old forum, but only 3 or 4 on the new one. [/quote] 3 or 4? I can see 8 on mine. I don't think we can make it any smaller; I feel the image preview size is about right at the moment anyway. Perhaps you could try a new browser or play with some settings. It's very hard making a site work visually with the massive plethora of hardware available, but most of the modern updates are optimised for modern hardware so as such we're left little choice.
  8. [quote name='andydye' timestamp='1353345920' post='1874016'] There's also no option to delete/withdraw a listing once it's posted There's a chance this might make for misleading stats in the future when you say how many items have sold compared to how many donations have been received [/quote] You can mark it as 'sold', perhaps a 'delete' button might also be a good plan. You can filter out sold items using the option on the menu.

[quote name='bluejay' timestamp='1353342174' post='1873919'] I wish I was good enough with the actual coding - as opposed to just testing the finished product - so that I could help you guys. Thank you so much for all your efforts. [/quote] I wish I was, too! I feel a bit like a middle man. Colin knows his stuff and has a great knowledge of the admin panel, and Steve is a good project manager. I have an eye for fine detail and long term planning but that just makes me more panicky than the others!! Good help is expensive, but worth every penny.
  10. [quote name='andydye' timestamp='1353342055' post='1873912'] Gallery view...that'd be the bit that's not working then cos I didn't see that option in there? [/quote] That's right. I've disabled it for the time being. It'll cost £1.75 and your advert will have a picture rather than a grey box in the forum index. It'll help people see what's for sale and help people shift their items! There were some preview links in post #1 but now the test site has closed so they don't work. Cheers
  11. [quote name='andydye' timestamp='1353341819' post='1873904'] Adding links to pics on flickr works fine in the new classifieds and you can still use any images you've previously uplodaded onto bc I had no trouble listing my couple of bits [/quote] Yeah, still, our hope is that people will take advantage of the gallery view option when the upload system is ready. We'll see how it goes - if nobody uses it then we'll have to re-think how the forum is financed.
  12. [quote name='andydye' timestamp='1353341184' post='1873888'] It'd be a useful addition matey, I didn't want to list it all twice cos I didn't want to flood the new classifieds with 'me'...there's not much on there yet but it's growing by the minute, come on folks...embrace the change and let's run with it! [/quote] The image upload system is borked so I think the section is rather quiet at the moment. As soon as it's 100% ready we'll close the old section and it'll become a lively and colorful affair

[quote name='bluejay' timestamp='1353340806' post='1873874'] I'm still missing that users online info on FF16, and yes, I'm also missing the latest post/author on each forum, just like you. I think it's the new format of the forum software that has put paid to it, which is a shame because I always looked at the latest post before deciding which subforum to visit first. [/quote] It'll be back. We haven't updated the actual forum software, just patched some areas. The full update is a lot of work and we can't afford it!
  14. [quote name='Hamster' timestamp='1353340055' post='1873843'] Fixed [/quote] Cheers Colin!!! Can you fix the uploader? lol

[quote name='MiltyG565' timestamp='1353340336' post='1873853'] It's fine on safari. Although, it is missing the part where it shows the latest post in each forum on the homepage, is that just safari? or does anybody else see it like that? [/quote] It should be there for everyone, but it's not there for anyone at the moment. It'll be back
  16. [quote name='andydye' timestamp='1353340317' post='1873851'] I've just plopped my stuff into the new classifieds section and marked my 'for sale' threads as 'listed in new classifieds section', very simple to use, liking it so far! One question, if an item is for sale but I'd happily accept trades that's not a possible choice as it can be 'for sale' or 'for swapsies'...is this something that can be changed in the future? [/quote] Hi mate thanks for the comments. I'm sure that's possible, yes - alternatively you could post the same advert in both sections, perhaps for the time being. Cheers

[quote name='rumour6' timestamp='1353339204' post='1873810'] My doctor says I must be at least two people... if BMI goes for owt. Glad (and thanks to all those who sorted it) we're back on track.. felt VERY strange over the past couple of days, BC is definitely addictive (hence my inflated BMI.. well that's my excuse). [/quote] We still have plenty to do but thanks for the kind words - I haven't really done anything so I'll pass it on to those who are under my whip. ped
  18. [quote name='BigRedX' timestamp='1353331661' post='1873681'] Just in case you hadn't already spotted it, the Calendar is currently unavailable... [/quote] Thanks - it's working here but I'll add it to the list. It's probably related to some of the tab/page issues we're aware of.
  19. Just a bit of an update - the uploading system needs adjusting, so until that's fixed we can't open the classifieds section to 'premium' adverts with thumbnail views (as in demo version in 1st post) or allow images to be uploaded within the advert itself. You can currently list items without a thumbnail and use IMG tags in the description, which I know isn't ideal, but I was hoping for a fax today which doesn't look like it's happening now. Sorry about the interruption, we had no idea it would cause such a lot of smaller knock on effects but once it's all finished I'll update you all so you can list away using the full features as intended. Cheers ped
  20. [quote name='BigRedX' timestamp='1353321295' post='1873501'] Could well be down to the other problems. There's lots of site functionality still missing. In the meantime your best off using an image hosting service like Photobucket. [/quote] Yes that's right, we installed a security fix yesterday and I think the upload system needs adjusting. I'm hoping it'll be fixed at some point today. Cheers
  21. I don't think Jack realises that the new section isn't finished yet and we're in a transitional phase this evening. Maybe. Who knows?
  22. Urgh scrub that, seems the classifieds bit isn't working properly now. Old forum will be unlocked until new bit is fixed and I'm leaving this alone for the evening... See you in the morning ped
  23. [quote name='karlfer' timestamp='1353270133' post='1873133'] I'm really confused about what is going on with the classifieds. I like to look through them every day, going back a few days. Looks like that facility has now gone, or at least to a cut off point sometime around yesterday. Struggling to believe there are only half a dozen listings since yesterday, I am obviously doing something wrong. I am going round in circles trying to find out what basses, amps and cabs are for sale. I appreciate what a fantastic resource the owners and mods provide for us, but I am an old luddite and I'm not going to spend the rest of my life trying to figure it out. Thank you all though, for the fantastic site. [/quote] There have been issues with the new section meaning that the listing item button was hardly visible for most people. Literally just now, Hamster's closed the old 'for sale' forums and new listings will go in the classifieds section. You should still be able to view listings in the old section, though. The classifieds area will be great when people start to use it, looking forward to watching it grow.
  24. [quote name='Bassman Sam' timestamp='1353269759' post='1873124'] Good work guys. I'm going to donate a tenner to help with the overtime. Everyone else should too. [/quote] Thanks for that, very kind. A nice conclusion to a frustrating day!
