  1. Thanks for that. @charic anything we can do this end?
  2. I actually find that anti virus progs on Macs cause more problems than they solve. There's definitely something causing it - let us know if it happens again and on what site.
  3. D'oh! Never update flash from anything other than Adobe.. it might mean you have a trojan on your computer that has infected your browser and points you towards malicious sites. Are you using Safari? Give your computer a scan with Malwarebytes and see if it finds anything.
  4. Yep just click the circled bit here
  5. You’re at the top of a slippery slope! Welcome to the forum and good luck it looks like a great little bass!
  6. Loved it when I went, but we only had two days as it was part of a tour from there to Vienna then Budapest. Here are my pictures if you’re interested https://www.flickr.com/photos/chiscocks/albums/72157674444771521 I really enjoyed it as I’m interested in the history. We did a great (but very long!) waking tour. Learned a lot.
  7. Sold Antonio a fretless Vigier. He came all the way to York and we had a nice natter about all things bass, travel, work and everything else. Couldn’t have sold to a nicer chap. Hope you enjoy the bass and I’m glad you listened to @Hellzero (thanks for giving him a nudge haha) Hope to see you again at the bass show!

    Travel Bass

People loved it at the LBGS!
  9. Hopefully the people who make the software will listen and improve this in the next update
  10. I’d tell him to post personally. Much easier for the seller to deal with any issues should they arise. Perhaps you could use it an excuse to visit Manchester?
  11. Royal mail stuff goes Parcelfarce over a certain size I think.
  12. Yeah good call. The websites can be impossible to use so call them and prepare for a long wait.
  13. It's impossible to say because it all depends on the particular driver working for the company - often through an agency. The safest and best way is to hire a man with a van for the job in hand but that's not always feasible. The only thing you can do is make sure you pay for insurance.
  14. Can’t wait to see yours. Any idea when it’ll be ready?
  15. No worries should work with yours too, try it in a shop first. As mine is a single cutaway the foam block on the top of the stand fits perfectly into the carving between the neck and body

They do some very nice looking instruments. I really like their single cutaway basses but haven’t ever seen one. Perhaps they’ll attend LBGS next year.
  17. Can’t rememebr the tuning, but low! I think he uses fairly normal gauge strings so there’s a lot of clank and buzz - again, part of the sound 👍🏼
  18. Time for me to share one of my favourite new bands with you. What pushed me over the edge into letting you all enjoy them with me? New EP out today, and track one features Paul Jackson Jr! Here’s the tune if you’re on Spotify : A lot of their music has synth bass lines which are great fun to copy and jam to. There is some live bass too and it’s very tasteful and fresh, a great example of modern tasteful electronic funk. They have four EPs now, and there’s isn’t a bad song on any of them, which I think is unique among my favourite artists! Simlar bands you might like in this same vein are TENDER and HONNE Hope you enjoy and I encourage you to delve in to their other tunes. Good bass in ‘Sunburnt through the glass’
  19. For those of you don’t like his tone, check out the bass sound in this, I think it’s great - completely different to what I’d normally find great, but it’s definitely got something and I love clicky bass sounds. This song would sound rubbish with clean fingered bass. I used to rewind the bass ‘solo’ at about 2:50 all the time!
  20. Personally I like his percussive style. It sounded great with the band, and was really different to anyone else. It’s easy to poke fun because of the genre and because he’s not playing hundreds of notes but actually he did a great job laying it down and poking through the mix, imo. When I was 14 I loved it. Thinking about it, I subconsciously incorporated his open hand slap technique into my own polishing, using both sides of the hand for alternating slaps. So cheers ‘Fieldy’ If that is your real name

I think you're paid up until Feb 6th. If you go to create an advert it should have the expiry date above the price box
  23. I acquired a Vovox instrument cable recently from my dad who got some for work. Really like it - I did a quick A/B against a Fender, Roland and Planet Waves cables I had lying around and found it did indeed sound better. I was really surprised. And pleased! https://www.vovox.ch/en/professional-audio/products/link/instrument-cable/
  24. I always think that if you like your gear you are inspired to play more and have more fun doing it, so yes I think it matters from that point of view. As mentioned elsewhere, I buy gear for me and my enjoyment, not for the audience, my band, or anyone else - though everyone benefits when I feel comfortable with what I'm playing. That said, it has little to do with how much that piece of equipment cost.
