My left hand, which I damaged in a horse accident in 2023, has regained a decent amount of mobility in the past year and my main issue nowadays is a degenerative neck condition (which could also have been hastened by aforementioned accident). So a long scale bass is now more comfortable for me (I have been using short scales almost exclusively) ... but it has to be super light. I spotted this Fender Traditional 60s P bass at FenderFever and it stated an amazing weight of 7.6 pounds. I asked them to double check and they confirmed. So I snaffled it and installed a DiMarzio DP122 creme pickup for the full Martyn P Casey of the Bad Seeds look. Very happy with it. No band at present but, when I get back in the saddle (obvs not a horse one), it should be very gig friendly.

Back up for sale as its just sitting there in bass rack doing nothing, while I am not in a band currently, and I pick up my Wilcock whenever I fancy a noodle. With D'Addario nickel rounds its £800 including post (within UK) or £775 collected from a public space in SW13 London. I can swap the strings for a spendy (cost me £55) and virtually new set of TI short scale flats for an extra £25. My post from November 7 with the Richtone advert has the most comprehensive set of pics (and it's not left the house since I acquired it from them) -
My bad, I did some googling and the 1966 to early 70s Mustangs had a 40mm nut width (not a 38mm J width). It was only the CIJ/MIJ reissues that had a J width neck.

The original US Mustangs up until the early 70s and the CIJ/MIJ reissues from the 90s and early 2000s have slimmer necks with a J width nut. From the early/mid 70s the neck profile on US Mustangs became more P like and the JMJ and current US and Mex models emulate the chunkier neck profile.

Oh darn it. Sorry it has started to fall apart. The fact a hard slapper like Lee Rocker plays one made me think its very durable. I just checked website and last price was £6k but also it's "currently unavailable"

Oh no! I know that Kolstein had been through the mill, with the neck etc, but I assumed it would (a) be fine and (b) that I would buy it off you one day, lol! Good luck tracking another down, sadly a new one is uber spendy by the time import duties and delivery from US are included

Nope just stick em on. Need to press hard to make them adhere properly or they can shift a little. Once in place they are pretty stable (they only move if you apply a lot of pressure and slide them or if you deliberately pick them off with finger nail). The pack comes with multiple sizes of dots and longer lozenge shapes -
