  1. Incredibly light, back-friendly Fender Traditional 60s P bass bought at start of 2025 from FenderFever (see ad below with pics and specifications). Great workhorse bass, ideal for longer gigs or if (like me) you have back or neck issues. Has a few dings and dongs here and there on edges etc, nothing egregious, and I added DiMarzio creme DP122 pickups (£95) for a Martyn Casey of The Bad Seeds/1980s vibe. The original Fender Japan pickup will also come with the bass. Comes with new Fender padded gig bag (if you wanted to sell on the DiMarzio pickup and gigbag you could probably get the net cost below £700, just sayin'). Selling as the usual too many basses and my Geddy Lee Jazz isn't moving (looks like I will end up using it just for home noodling). Collection safe public space in SW13 London or £15 economy delivery in UK. I need to take some better pics as my two make it look a bit brown. FenderFever pics show the burst better https://fenderfever.com/products/2879
  2. I have rarely seen a relic'd CS bass look so authentically "vintage". The Avantguard scratchplate is superb and the finishing touch. Beauty! Have a bump on me
  3. Fyi, I am selling a new/unused set of abalone crown stickers in the FS 'other items' section, in case you fancy making your dot necked Spector look a little more fancy EDIT: NOW SOLD
  4. I ordered a set each of abalone and mother of pearl oval crown stickers for my new (to me) Ian Hill Spector. The MOP suit the black gloss finish better so am passing the abalone set straight on. Unavailable in UK, had to source these from a US ebay seller. Avoid the transAtlantic hassle and lob £15 my way to upgrade your dot necked Spector!

  5. Recently bought a nice comp/DI pedal off John. All was hunky dory, very pleased. Thanks John!
  6. You could try me with a very near offer as I have definitely decided that - however nice this valve preamp is - it doesn't quite suit my needs
  7. Well, after a couple of recent buys that didn't work out (for weight reasons), I messaged Tony about the Spector Ian Hill. He sent videos of its condition and him playing it and we agreed a price that both felt was fair (which took into account my comments on the post I have quoted above). Totally legit guy, very friendly and clearly his prices are flexible. Hope this is helpful
  8. Flip flopping again...sounds lovely/warm/valvey but not enough grit/gnarliness/OD for my needs. Back up FS. No trades sorry as I have what I need pedal-wise
  9. I've had questions about the noiseless pickups. They are the DiMarzio Ultra Jazz DP149 set (the individual.pickups are coded DP147 [neck] and DP148 [bridge]). Found a video of someone playing these in a Geddy so you can hear the sounds:
  10. Bumping your sale as I don't think you posted about latest price cut Good luck!
  11. If skinny neckness is your thing:
  12. More photos including digital scales:
  13. It's the cat, I feed him extra milk to balance on my head
  14. Bought very recently on the forum, gigged on Sunday (pic attached) and its just too heavy for my neck/back - had significant discomfort after the gig even though its only about 9 pounds. My other basses are c.8 pounds or less and that is what I will have to stick to going forward as my neck condition is not going to improve. Robert's ad below sets out the details - its one of the first Japanese runs - stub of neck dates it to 2001 - and with some upgrades (eg noiseless pickups). The negatives for full disclosure are that the Hipshot A tuner has a bit of play (it holds tune and works but the first bit of a turn does nothing; worked fine for me at gig but can be replaced at about £30 if it bothers you) and it was routed for a battery pack at the rear (at one stage it had a John East preamp, its now all passive again), not that anyone would ever see this. I have swapped out white scratchplate (which I still have) for a black one, so you have the choice. What else? Wearing new DR Pure Blues 40-100 nickel rounds and comes with 90s style Fender hard case. Usual gen from me - delivery by economy courier for £20 on top or collect in safe public space near me in Barnes, London SW13 (usually Barnes station car park). Passing on at the price I paid which is a bargain FS ad on BassChat:
  15. On the very odd chance that some/any of you are attending the East Finchley festival tomorrow, I am depping for my old goth/post punk band The InSect at 4pm on the main stage. A short but sweet 25 minute set

  16. Target reached. Wishing you all the BassChat best, Lee
  17. Paul bought a T Rex power supply unit off me and everything was hunky dory! Many thanks!!!!
  18. One last try at £1750. If it doesn't go at this price I will just keep it for recordings and very short gigs
