  1. I bought this 1973 Rick conversion from Gunnar of this parish (aka Studio GC) last year. Its cool AF, mojo'd to heck and seriously modded. Please read the previous FS thread (link below) for details of mods. Has "Crue" roughly carved into upper bout which Gunnar covered with a sticker but I think looks kind of punk/rock 'n roll cool. According to my digital scales, weighs c.8.5 pounds (Gunnar's scales weighed lower) which is still lightweight for a Rick. Comes with a box loads of bits (spare pickups, pickup cover, wiring, and a somewhat battered alternate Hipshot bridge [I reinstalled the original Rick bridge as shown in my pics]). Wearing nicely worn in TI flats and plays very slickly. Reason for selling: I am struggling with the 33.25" scale length compared with my Mustang bass due to ongoing left hand issues (blame the horse) plus continuing medical bills. I paid £1700 and have since added a spendy Mono Sleeve gig bag which I would throw in for the same total price (edit: I also added a Rickysounds treble pickup bezel for ease of finger style playing). Collection from a public place in SW13 London or shipping at cost - however, I would need to source a box if shipping is required, which may delay matters by a few days.
  2. Euphonic Audio 1 x 10" speaker cabinet, 17lb with 4-ohm speaker rated at 250W. Dimensions 15"H x 12.5"W x 11"D. Great for small DB/acoustic/electric gigs, with a relatively flat response. The handle on the bottom is a useful feature, allowing you to angle the cab upwards. Bought on BC in Jan 2023 but selling due to complete lack of use (my Americana band was put on ice last year). Collected SW13 London or can ship at cost well-wrapped (it has no cover/gigbag, unfortunately).
  3. I received this full-fat 120W valve amp from Handbox in August 2022. A combination of my then-band being put on ice and my more recent goth band only ever using supplied backline means it has never left my house, not even for a practice session. Its too good to have sitting around, plus the cash would come in handy. Comes with around c.£80 of extras, namely a custom padded gig bag/cover and a DI attenuator cable (which I bought 'just in case'). Not that keen on shipping given the weight (16kg/35.3 lb) and risks of valves being unseated/damaged by heavy-handed couriers. So its collection only from a nice public space/car park in the SW13 London area, south of Hammersmith Bridge. Specs here: http://www.handbox.pl/WB-100-ALL-TUBE-p150.html
  4. Have you tried messaging Rickysounds? They don't have one in matte black but tgey may be able to source one? And they are responsive https://www.rickysounds.co.uk/product-category/bass-guitars/4003/
  5. I have my eye on something in the FS forum so will drop this to £575 INCLUDING 48 hour delivery while the other bass is available.
  6. My goth lot The InSect are playing in  Brighton on Sunday 10th March (aka Mother's Day). Release the bats!

  7. Attention South Coasters! My goth lot The InSect kick off our 2024 gigs in Brighton, playing The Pipeline on Sunday 10th March (aka Mother's Day). We are the support act, probably onstage not long after 8pm, playing a 45 minute set.
  8. Price drop: £600 plus postage at cost (if required)
  9. Looks like I have a box and can include 48 hour delivery in my asking price
  10. Still FS as those medical bills don't pay themselves. Hard to think you will find an early 70s Mustang in better condition
  11. The stasis is the same on Reverb and eBay. Assume its a combination of post-Christmas belt-tightening, the continuing cost of living crisis and just general geopolitical uncertainty
  12. Since the OP hasn't responded yet, here is the relevant snippet from the ad: "Suitable for all styles except arco (using bow)"

    Peak Wal?

Would not surprise me. Lots of premium objets soared in price during lockdown and have been falling back towards earth in the past year. Check out the second hand market for Rolex watches, for example, which has dived by well over 10%. Pedigree dog breed prices too. And as we can see on BassChat, throw in the CoL crisis on top and the market for buying and selling quality basses is well and truly frozen.
  14. Kay reissue of the short scale (31.25") model famously played by Howlin' Wolf bass player, Andrew “Blueblood” McMahon. Excellent condition. Very light and thumpy and with cool white art deco (?) case. In exact same condition as when I bought it from @kristo nearly a year ago as the Americana band/project it was bought for never came to fruition (common BC story ....). Prefer handover in SW London as don't currently have a box. However, willing to post at cost if given time to source something protective enough. Bit cheeky (hope he doesn't mind) but the picture is one of Kristo's (as alluded to, its not left my house or been used since I acquired it so is in exact same condition) and I attach his FS link with other pics. kvrcatalogmodern.pdf
  15. Like @Beedster its an itch I would like to scratch at some point. Violin basses seem pretty versatile as evidenced by their use by reggae greats (Robbie Shakespeare etc) as well as industrial punksters Cabaret Voltaire (below).
  16. That was a 34" scale "horizontal" banjo bass! I would just be intrigued to hear what a full DB-scaled banjo bass sounds like!
