1. Well jsixties' beautiful Dakota red CS 64J is now 'on hold' so, folks, this is the last CS 64J for sale on BassChat. Get in quick or .... don't! This is a reminder of what my one looks like: G'waan, you know you want it!
2. I find the B width neck (1.625 inches), half way betwwe P and J widths, to be the most comfortable. My 72P has a B width neck and is so easy to play that any idiot could do it (which is fortunate for me). The Alleva WW had a traditional 1.75 width neck and I didn't find it as comfortable as my 72P (although it wasa clearly better made!) You can buy matched PJ pickup sets from Wizard, DiMarzio etc so why not try that on one of your Ps, Gareth? Will cost including installation between £100-200 but that's a lot cheaper than the cost of a Jazz bass.
3.
Did you see any Celinders there Mr. C?
Sadly not. Didn't have time (so I thought) to peruse more shops due to flight back to London. Found out when I got to airport thta flight delayed by hour and a half. I am sat in airport lounge mightily peeved, knowing my evening is now b*ggered. So cheer me up someone and buy my bass. Its an order!
4. The Pino was gorgeous but unfortunately displayed in a glass case so I couldn't get to play it. It was also about £2500 when translated from Kroner, so the strings won out
5. Danish bump - like Danish bacon only less tasty! PS, BoomBass I stumbled across a big music shop in the centre of Copenhagen (Aage? Near the Round Tower). Lovely selection of Fenders (includinga Pino Precision), Sanbergs etc. Of course I only bought some strings!
6. I am amazed this still here. Cracking bass for the money. I think you should get a box from your nearest guitar shop and offer postage, would be gone in a flash in my view.
7. Thanks for the tip, BoomBass! Will try and check out that shop
8.
Danish girls and Tuborg. Very nice. 25% VAT on booze. Not so nice.
I've spotted the Danish girls. They have yet to spot me! Tuborg and Cucumber basses it is then
9. Careful Nigel. When you play his CDs backwards it says "Hi-tops, Hi-tops, Hi-tops ...."
10. I have an hour or two to kill tomorrow afternoon before my flight back to London. Does anyone know of any good bass shops in Copenhagen that I could go snooping round? PS, I think Celinders are made there but at their new prices I won't be buying anything other than strings!
11. Last price cut to £1500 + post. If it doesn't sell at this price I am keeping it
12.
there's a very nice vintage guitar shop in Stockholm - I remember turning left by a bridge somewhere!!
Unfortunately I won't have time for fun tomorrow. On Friday, however, I am in Copenhagen and have an hour or two kill in the afternoon before flight back to Blighty. So if anyone happens to know any cool bass shops in Copenhagen ...
13.
Just lend it to me for a few years and see how you feel then?
What, you mean after you have re-finned it in neon green or checkerboard
14. Today's bump is brought to you from Stockholm where I am told Tom Jones is gigging tonight. He obviously did not know I was available for bass duties ....
15.
so getting marks on it from your guitar stand is probably not worth worrying about.
Except when you are trying to sell the bass in question!
16. Just sold Stewart a Radial DI Box. Paid fast, great comms. Very pleasant transaction. Cheers!

Just bought an as-new Shadow p/u off Stevie. Another good deal with the man. Many thanks!
18. Looking over the FS boards, its evident there isn't much money floating around. I appreciate £1500-odd is a lot of dosh so I would potentially consider another part-cash trade as long as the cash was in the majority. Not really trying to add to my bass collection but I would consider a vgc s/h 2008/9/10 (non-S1) American Std Jazz (only in oly white or sunburst) as part-ex. Very specific I know but I don't like many colours, only want a USA Fender (snob), and I have a lovely P bass already.
19. That phase of my life is over, jon, I'm back in London And Jigster, Kenny were a sh*te teeny band post Bay City Rollers and had a hit with "The bump" - chorus "there's a new dance that is going around called the bump, its the bump ..." etc Yep, it hasn't survived the test of time too well.
20. Hey Jigster, surely you recall the Frech version of the 1970s classic by Kenny: "Venez tout le monde, fait le bump ..."
21. The Fender CIJ 70 reissue Precision has an intermediate neck that is between traditional P and J width and is very easy to play. Cracking bass, recommend you check these out. Appear with some regularity on BC
22. Le bump (from Gay Paris)
23. Thanks for your thoughts JV! I will ask Sims about how they paint clear vs colour. The Bass Gallery in Camden has just taken in a used cocbolo SC Deluxe, for those interested in top end Alembics. Just appeared on their website.
24.
Interesting. Which pup is it?
I presume its the Shadow 950? http://www.contrabass.co.uk/sh_950_pickup.htm I just bought one from steviedee on BC this morning
25. A lot of 'name' DBers (Ron Carter, Christian McBride etc) recommend the David Gage Realist http://www.realistacoustic.com/realist_flavors.php?type=bass
