  1. Wow! I had one a few years ago and wish I still did (alas the usual comment about not having sufficient funds, esp as none of the 3 boutique basses I have up for sale are moving)
  2. Following several comments on my status update/rant, could I suggest the following be adhered to once an item is sold on BC: 1. As soon as is practicable, edit the title to include SOLD so that potential buyers do not waste their time browsing through the thread and mods know when to lock the thread - it will also save the seller having to answer pointless PMs asking if the item is sold. 2. Sold items are a valuable source of pricing information and specifications for potential sellers and buyers of similar/same items further down the line. So please do not ask for the thread to be removed and do not remove all the details. Unless you have some specific circumstances (tax liabilities, ex-partner trying to get hold of your assets etc!) this serves no purpose whatsoever. Photographs of course are a different matter as these take up your attachment storage space on BC, so its understandable if these are deleted. Thats all folks Yours faithfully, Mildly irritated of Barnes
  3. Small rant but when something in the FS forum is sold can the seller please type SOLD in the title. Would save a shedload of wasted time

  4. True re short/medium scale, but Alan refers to it as short scale including on his website gallery page, so I went with it! ATB Clarky
  5. FYI, shipping to Europe with UPS (the best in my view) would be £70 next day or £35 economy (3-5 day)

  7. Needs must. This is a fabulous bass from Mr Cringean that was made in 2018. Cocobolo facing, slick 32" scale, weighs 8.0 pounds (3.6kg), thick ebony fretboard and John East electronics. Full details and more pics are here: http://www.acguitars.co.uk/project/0306recurvess4/ This is a decent discount on new cost (c.£1900 including delivery) and - considering the bass is in fabulous condition - represents very good value in my view. Comes with basic gig bag and will be well packed if delivery needed. £1400 including UK delivery (I generally use UPS) or £25 less if collected from me in Hammersmith area, London. No trades, this is a fundraiser. Up to date pics on post dated 16 Jan 2020
  8. This would pair beautifully with the Recurve 4 for sale by @Bigwan , with the same Wal/Alembic type filter preamp
  9. Sheesh, thats amazing value. I bought one new last year and it cost more than double the asking price here. Mine is a simply excellent bass and I have no doubt this similarly spec'd one (except mine has cocobolo top and ebony board) is amazing too. Absolute bargain alert!

    Mustangs!

Recently acquired MIJ in aged Candy Apple Red with competition stripe. Wearing La Bella Mustang flats
  12. I have just ordered another one of these 🙄 as the EBS Valvedrive - while fabulous - does not really fit on my super compact pedal board and also requires an additional power input (needs >700mA to drive the valve whereas my T Rex power supply delivers 120mA from each port). ... sooooo does anyone have a recommended setting on the Mojomojo for that [back to the OP!] warm, valvey Motown sound? PS, I will be keeping the Valvedrive as it sounds fab, before anyone asks, just not for this particular pedalboard setup
  13. here's the manual for the EQ01 http://www.acguitars.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/ACG_EQ01.pdf
  14. Hi there, the bass has an ACG EQ01 filter pre-amp from http://www.acguitars.co.uk/ This features two low-pass filters, one per pickup and a global high-pass filter, giving you the ability to EQ each pickup independently. Its similar in concept to the filter based pickup system from Wal. The internal controls (which I admit I have never touched) include gain adjustment for each pickup, treble path selection, and a trim pot that allows you to choose which pickup supplies the feed for the high pass filter. The small switch on the face of the bass allows you to select the piezo pickup in the bridge or the two magnetic pickups and the small light indicates that the battery status is good when you first plug in.
  15. Thishas received a bid on eBay so I guess that means its on hold???? Not sure how that works (eg, if buyer later backs out)

  22. Bought recently off the forum from Steff but, after comparing the two, I now prefer the fat valviness of my Orange Terror Bass amp (and I have discovered the latter has all the headroom I could realistically need). Still in good condition and comes with the Mesa padded bag. Collect London (Hammersmith area) or delivery within UK for £15 extra. No trades, sale only - unless you have a Fiesta red MIJ Mustang bass ....
  23. ahhhh I posted this in Amps section of Gear forum but see this had already appeared in the General Discussion forum. Apologies for double post then
