  1. I keep doing his ... I bought these this week, popped them on my P bass and thought .. nah. Tension wrong. Should have learned last time I did this. Ho hum. They were on my bass for one day only and the silk ends have been only slightly trimmed for a 4-in-line Fender headstock. £32 posted. Most places have them well over £40 (eg BassDirect charges £47 plus £2 post)
  2. I already texted him
  3. I know that @Ikedog was looking for one of these
  4. Martyn just bought an old Fender JV bass from me and it was a top class buying/selling experience. Many thanks!
  5. Brian bought a scratchplate from me and all was good! 🙂
  6. Here is the Low End page to save googling http://www.lowendbassshop.com/node/21963
  7. Lucky fella, I ummed and ah'ed about this beauty
  8. I had a CB Ball bass and the luthiery was absolutely masterful. I have no doubt this will be the same. I already have a short scale fretless (Rob Allen Mouse) or this would be under serious consideration
  9. Just buy an Fdeck pedal (or clone), which will impedance match and - very usefully - give you control over feedback and low end rumble. Put that between your DB and any amp and hey presto
  10. On hold until tomorrow lunchtime while potential buyer mulls it over
  11. Hi Tom, these were a special custom run in 2006 for Japan under the name 'Beach series'. I am afraid I don't know how many were made but my post above (on Tuesday, with the three colour schemes picture) states it was "a limited run" based on a TalkBass article. They appear occasionally for sale in Australia, infrequently in the US and virtually never in Europe.
  12. Next day UPS delivery (within UK) included in the price. £25 extra to mainland Europe
  13. Last cut. £800 posted in the UK (48 hour economy delivery), to include GruvGear bag and with the bass wearing either La Bella flats (760FL; as seen in the pics above) or D'Addario black nylon flats.
  14. Indeed. Wonderful bass for which the original was designed for Garry Tallent of Bruce Springsteen's band - who is no slouch as a bassist!
  15. Following a request for a clearer depiction of the colour, this pic was taken today in daylight
  16. Or very near offer
  17. Bit more info from googling: "In 2006 a limited number of custom finish instruments were produced, intended for the Japanese market: Coral Pink, Canary Yellow, and Coral Blue (though often referred to as Caribbean blue). These were not widely distributed to US dealers, though odd examples did appear online"
  18. I think Gibson always use nitro. It is (remarkably, given its 14 years old) free of dings. The paint is quite thick which may explain, together with it looking as if the bass had rarely if ever left its case, why its in such great condition Edit: I just found another for sale thread from the US a few years back that describes it as a "faded nitrocellulose finish".
  19. Some pics to save you clicking on the link
