1. Anyone paired an RH450 with Bergantino cabs - specifically the HT112/EX112?
2. Here's my two: The very first bass I ever owned (and still do), an all original '62, that my dad bought for me back in '75: And the latest bass in my armoury, a '72: I've had acquired many basses inbetween (still have many of them) but I do love the P Bass
3. Umm, the Celtic thing never occured to me - maybe she should take it off!
4. Love the Jazz Bass - if only this was in the UK to try out!

6. It's llama time.......
7.
I played in Glasgow with my band last Friday night,in a place called Rockers.....it was freezing cold outside, and my guitar had been in my home office all day(wee room with rubbish, dvds etc) I put it in a soft gig bag,out into my van for the 30 minute drive to Glasgow, then into the band room of the venue......After about an hour,I tuned it and then we sound checked.....it was well out on a couple of strings......I might have bumped into something on the stage,as its a bit compact and we are a 5 piece band.... After the sound check,I tuned it and checked it a couple of times.....I have a small Korg tuner, with the built in mike.....It seemed to be picking up everysound in the venue,so I used the guitar players tuner on his zoom pedal..... When we started to play...it was out of tune again.....I wished the stage would open up and swallow me......I tuned it during the song, but everybody in the bloody place noticed!........Something to do with the hot, then cold, then hot situation maybe!.....its a Tokai Jazz sound bass, never had any tuning issues before.....though the strings were a couple of weeks old...so maybe not played in yet!...any one else had this trouble?
Yep, going from cold to hot will cause tuning issues - however, the situation normally settles down after an hour when left on a stand so if you get there early enough then you should normally be OK. With regard to leaving stuff in vans overnight etc, I know lots of people who have done that without apparent issues, especially when the instrument is in a flight case. If the tour crew were doing their job they would ensure the cases were not opened for at least an hour after unloading at the venue which allows the instruments to slowly aclimatise to whatever the conditions are at the venue. However, I know at least two people who wrecked the necks on their instruments by leaving them in their garage in all weathers. At the end of the day I wouldn't risk it.
8.
I use a markbass LM2 and a neo 15 in a very small lightweight cab for reggae and I thank my lucky stars every time I lift it. There is a compromise in sound compared to a huge heavy cab, but it's well worth it to me for the weight saving. I rarely play gigs without a PA, so my rig is only for stage monitoring and most of the onstage bass sound comes from the back of the PA bass bins. The LM2 is perfect for my reggae sound but I would like to try an Eden amp after your glowing review.
Look out for an Eden WT400 Traveller Plus, IMHO the best sounding amp they ever made. I have owned the WT800A and WT800B which have both been moved on - but I still have the WT400 which I bought new from the Bass Centre in Wapping back in 2000 - gigged three times a week for years without a glitch and plenty of oomph. Although my main amp is now a Markbass TA501 I would never part with my WT400.
9.
I really should know this, but is a 73 P nitro or polly?
Fender changed to using Polyester in 1968: http://www.provide.net/~cfh/fender2.html#pbass And FWIW I wouldn't leave a wood instrument in the back of a van, extreme changes in temperature and humidity (likely to occur due to night/daytime differences) may well cause wood to swell and twist. Your call, but if it was mine I would take the basses with me.
10. I'm another one that used Neo's for a number of years (Epifani UL210's) and have now 'rediscovered' ceramics in the guise of a couple of Bergantino's 112's. Its a bit of an apples and pears comparison, two 2x10's against two 1x12's, but I also tried the Bergantino AE112's against the HT/EX pair I bought - the AE's sounded harsh and less musical in comparison to their Ceramic driver/heavier cab brethren.

12.
LOL, I have to admit that when I announced the imminent purchase to Mrs Beedster I didn't hesitate in showing her that listing
Price is a funny thing - lot's of people I know would not pay premium for 'the bass' yet spend several times more over a number of years cycling through various cheaper alternatives. Great looking bass Chris and if she plays/sounds anything like my '62 you've got one very special bass.
13.
Wow there are some stunners there...but it leads to the question, which is your main player I think my favourites were the StingRay and Rickenbacker!
Interesting question. My 'go to' basses for recording are the P Bass, Thumb Bass and Stingray, and will be in action in the studio in a couple of weeks. I'm using the Clover more live (getting to grips with the 5th string), although I do swap around between the Celinder and the Spector and typically take the Thumb bass as my back up. Only played the Ricky and Status at home but they are fun to play...
14. Welcome and I love the anniversary MM
15.
I checked your pictures and it's the same bass...I recognize the carpet on the pictures I have been send. It is an amazing Alembic (date refers to 2002), really one of the best basses I have ever owned. I've played other Alembics but this MK signature just is something special, superb looks and playability and the leds are a nice bonus (especially since they can not be seen by the audience).
Yep, sure is a great bass and why I stated that this was the one bass that I regret moving on.
SWEEEEEEEEEEET! Yeah I don't think Mike has ever put quite the attention to detail that he does for his basses into his website
Not so sure about that!
17. Can you have a single input driving both channels?
18. Nice one Clarky - I've fancied a '72 P Bass for a long time. The '72's have a great reputation.
19. Welcome aboard
20. My P Bas is my 'go to' bass for recording - for putting a 'foundation' bass line down it sits in the mix like none of the other basses I play. Have owned it for 34 years I will never part with it and will still be using it for many years to come.
21.
This one doesn't look too shabby... http://www.newkingsroadguitars.co.uk/guita...4_Precbass.html
Ouch - that is a lot of money. I don't understand how so much paintwork comes of a bass, especially in the places that this bass is missing paint. I have owned my '62 P Bass since '75 and took it on the road for six years in the late 70's/early 80's - also, played regularly since. It shows wear and I understand why, but I can't think of how the one at NewKingsRoadGuitars has been used!
22. This is my current gigging amp - with a Bergantino HT112/EX112 combo. The onboard compressor is so good and gives the Markbass Sound a smoother and warmer presentation which I love - highly recommended amp.
23. I have the earlier WT400 Traveller Plus head and IMHO it is the best sounding head Eden made (I have owned and sold a number of others including a WT800B) - good luck with the sale.
24. I agree with Mr F. Also, why stick with these two brands? If you want to go for that vintage P Bass tone then you should also consider Wizard, Lindy Fralin and Lollar.
25. I bought this amp earlier this year for rehearsals and thought it a nice little amp which had a big sound. However, I was always troubled by the piezo tweeter which sounds 'spitty' and can't be adjusted. Well, yesterday I had enough of it and took off the front grill and removed the 12" speaker - I then plugged the amp speaker lead direct to the 12" speaker and plugged the lead from the crossover to speaker on the spare lugs of the crossover (i.e. where the lead to the amp used to connect) to keep them from being loose. This effectively took both the crossover and the tweeter out of the equation and boy what a difference. It's quite amazing how well the 12" handles the treble - very smooth and not at all dull. Even at volume the high's have a nice presence without sounding spitty or clanky - and had me thinking again about the quality of Markbass speakers which I previously thought of as average and overpriced. The piezo is not good but I reckon the crossover was sucking the life out of the 12" speaker as well.
