1. Nothing to see here, it's a gonna
2. You should also give Bergantino a try. I have moved over to their 1x12's (previously used Epifani and EA Cabs) and am not looking back at all. These are really uncoloured and amazing cabs
3. I've got a Warwick Thumb NT and a real nice Cellinder jazz, and a cool '62 P Bass (not to mention my Spector and 'Ray). But recently I was down ay Bassdirect and played a Clover Avenger 5 and, well, walked out of the store with it in my hands (having paid of course). This is such a versatile, great looking/playing bass that before picking it up had never heard of them. I just think that it's worth going to a few good stores and trying out what they have rather than narrowing you 'vision' as you might come across a real gem, as I did.
4.
This is a feeler thread for a few reasons. First being a Rickenbacker I don't expect too much love here It's also a fairly rare and absolutely mint bass that I've kept as an investment and not played. I'll get some photos up tomorrow. It comes with all the case candy in a silver tolex case etc. I realise that having two fairly rare rics and worrying about how I'm paying for my new build is daft. I'm keeping the 4001CS which I'm inclined to play a bit too as it's too nice to be hidden away. This the the 'Macca' bass with the reversed headstock, vintage reverse tuners and the modified body shape. No sharks teeth markers on the neck but dots. Tis a beauty. Looking for £2,400 which is sadly less than I paid for it, recession and all that. Peter
Trades?
5. The time to look at importing direct is when the exchange rate is favourable. When the pound was worth nearly two dollars it was worthwhile, but as the exchange rate is only around $1.35 to the £ and you have to fork out around 20% VAT and Duty, plus higher shipping charges, it's not really favourable.
6. Welcome aboard
7.
Lovely bass mate, but I think you mean "26 years old!"
Good spot. ***SOLD PENDING THE USUAL - THANKS ED***
8. In response to lots of requests here are some pictures of the back, cavity and label:
9. Back on the block
10. Probably better off getting a Badass - but a black 'guard does look cool with a maple neck
11.
This your man? Heard extremely good things about him. http://www.bravewoodguitars.co.uk/
Unfortunately Bravewood only relic guitars they make/supply. They will refurb an original pre CBS Fender and apply their relic treatment as part of the refurb, but they don't take in a typical off the shelf guitar and apply their relic treatment.
12. Madness over. I've keeping the amp to retain the Eden sound in my arsenal, and this is the best sounding Eden amp I've heard.
13. Sold pending payment - thanks Geert
14. Well, being a bass player who dabbles on guitar I purchased this amp new from Charlie Chandlers Guitar Experience for 1750 GBP. It has had minimal home use and is in immaculate condition - I have also had a Silverstone two tone cover made for it so it doesn't even get dusty. The amp is too loud for strictly the home use I put it to so thought I might put it up to see if there is any interest in trading for a bass. I would also sell for 1100 GBP.
15.
If I didn't owned 2 already I'd buy it! pa
The Epifani UL210 cab I'm sellingmatches this amp so well - seriously. Beinga 4 ohm cab it allowed the WT400 to handle loud drummers and two noisy guitarists with ease, never needing to turn up past the 12 o'clock position. The cab can handle 500 watts (which is conservative) and was never under any stress - if you haven't you should try one of these with your WT400's.
16.
Alan, you'll regret it, you know ;-) Have a free bump (btw the weight it 31lbs, but I wish you were right!) pa
I think you might be right. I have owned this amp from new and it has performed flawlessly. It has more warmth and low definition than the WT800B I had and has more definition and 'clout' than my friends WT550. This is the one piece of gear that I wouldn't mind hanging onto - so if it doesn't sell I don't think I'd be too bothered. And the weight really is 13lb - my WT800B was only 26lb.
17.
are you ready to ship?
Do you mean would I ship? Yes, as long as you cover shipping costs - I have the original shipping box and the shipping weight is 20kg (says so on the box) - so if you want to look up the costs my post code is TW9 2EN
18. For sale is my Epifani UL210 which is in excellent condition and comes complete with cover. These are great speakers and the only reason I'm selling is because I have gone down the Bergantino powered cab route. Looking for 435 GBP including the cover. From the Epifani site: UL-210 The UL-210 offers the player superior power handling capability, true linear response and enough cone area to manage any professional performance situation. Each cabinet is equipped with two 10" 250W custom-made Epifani speakers and a 100W bullet tweeter capable of handling tremendous dynamic range. This compact, light weight cabinet is perfect for just about any situation but for added flexibility it can be coupled with another UL-210 (8 Ohm), the UL-115 or a UL-410 (8 Ohm). •Speaker: 2 x 250w RMS Cast Aluminum Frame •100w RMS Tweeter •Freq Response: 40hz - 16khz •Power Rating: 500w RMS (1200w Peak) •8 or 4 Ohms •Suggested Wattage: 200w - 1000w •Sensitivity: 102db SPL @ 1w 1m •Dimensions: 18 1/2" H x 23 " W x 17 3/4" D •38 lbs.
19. I purchased this new from the Bass Centre back in 2000 when they were located in Wapping. Always kept in a quality rack the amp is in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This early version of the WT400 is one of the most sought after Eden amps and the only reason I'm selling is because I have just gone down the Bergatino powered cab route. Looking for *** GBP which includes a Gigskinz 3U semi hard rack case/bag which is also in excellent condition. WT400 Specs Power 8Ω/4Ω 235/400W RMS Power Mono Bridge N/A Distortion <.1% Frequency Response 10Hz - 15KHz ±2dB Headroom 3db Dimensions 12"W x 3.5"H x 12"D Weight 13 LBS
20. Both cabs sold pending the usual
21.
Beautiful example and, if you haven't done so already, I would recommend posting it up on the Walbassesnaturally forum on Yahoo Groups as well. Am happy to do that for you if like? Good luck with the sale!
Thanks for the heads up. I have just posted a message there.
22. Well, I'm definately not a fretless player and I have my eye on another bass so have decided to see if there is any interest in this bass. Olive ash facing's on a mahogany core, ebony fretboard. Has the hallmarks of a well played but looked after 26 year old bass. Comes with original case but the latches are broken - not sure if they are reparable. I got this from Beedster in a trade - I had over £2k into the two basses I traded. Looking for £1900. Hope Beedster don't mind that I'm using his photo's:

Sadowskys

I agree about the VTC. On the two Sadowsky's that I have owned I rarely used the preamp boost but was always tweaking the sound with the VTC. I tried a couple of Sadowsky's at the Bass Gallery that was not fitted with the VTC and found their treble a little too 'strident' - so in my view the Sadowsky pre amp without the VTC is not a great way to go.
