I have an immaculate Badcat Cub II which I purchased new from Charlie Chandlers Guitar Experience about 6 years ago. For three years of it's life it was in storage at my brothers house when I was on a work assignment in the US. For the other three years of it's life it has had very minimal home use and is in perfect condition - being a bass player I never get to play guitar much. I had a Silvertone two tone padded cover made for it, so it doesn't even gather dust. The cheapest I have seen these sell for in the UK is £1700 new without the cover, which cost £40. It seems daft having such a great piece of kit lying around doing nothing and I thought I put it up on here to see whether there is any interest in trading for bass gear. My ideal trade would be for a Bergantino IP112 powered cab or a Millennia preamp - long shot I know but worth asking. I would also consider trading for a quality bass - preferable five string but anything considered.

Revised prices as above. I have decided to go the Bergantino powered cab route, so if anyone is looking to trade one of these :brow: I'm more than interested - with cash coming from my end of the bargain (naturally). Or a trade for a Bergantino EX112ER or HT112ER (which I intend to use with an IP112ER)

Well, my Eden WT800B sold, as did my DBX. Also, one of my two EA Cabs has sold pending the usual. The last EA CXL Cab is still available. These are great cabs and I have have had some great quality slip covers made for them. These are great speakers with a very neutral response, making them ideal for acoustic instruments (guitar, bass, orchestral) as well as bass guitar. The reason I'm selling is that I'm going the Bergantino powered cab route. Some reviews can be found here: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...io/CXL112L/10/1 http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...12+Cabinet/10/1 Looking for 325 GBP for the remaining cab with cover. Collection preferred (I live in Richmond, Surrey), but could meet up somewhere as long as it is within a reasonable distance. Specs on the EA Cabs - looks like EA don't make the the CXL 112 anymore, which is a shame as they are probably the best cab they ever made (IMHO): Configuration: Coaxial 1 x 12" Woofer: Custom Kevlar 12" Tweeter: 1" High Effciency Phenolic Compression Driver Tweeter Level Control: located on rear connection panel Frequency Response: 38Hz to 14kHz Sensitivity: 103dB @ 1m Sound Pressure Level: 128dB @ 1m Power Handling: 350 watts (continuous unclipped power) Impedance: 8 ohm Connection: One Speakon Jack and One quarter inch Jack Size: 19"H x 17"W x 15"D Weight: 44 lbs (20 kg) Handle: One integrated custom cup handle on each side

Regarding the PM's, I would consider offers for individual parts of the rig. Specs on the EA Cabs - looks like EA don't make the the CXL 112 anymore, which is a shame as they are probably the best cab they ever made: Configuration: Coaxial 1 x 12" Woofer: Custom Kevlar 12" Tweeter: 1" High Effciency Phenolic Compression Driver Tweeter Level Control: located on rear connection panel Frequency Response: 38Hz to 14kHz Sensitivity: 103dB @ 1m Sound Pressure Level: 128dB @ 1m Power Handling: 350 watts (continuous unclipped power) Impedance: 8 ohm Connection: One Speakon Jack and One quarter inch Jack Size: 19"H x 17"W x 15"D Weight: 44 lbs (20 kg) Handle: One integrated custom cup handle on each side -
I have this monster rig not doing anything - well the sort of gigs I play there is really no need for such a powerful rig and therefore I have always used my WT400 plus Epifani Cab. So, I purchased the Eden WT800B a few years back when I was in the states, so it is the version that has the variable 115v/230v settings - perfect for touring. I have used this ONCE only at rehearsal and it has been kept in in a rack case, so not even gathering dust! I purchased the first of my EA CXL112 cabs new around 5 years ago. This is in perfect condition. The second I got from a fellow basschatter and is in great condition with just a couple of small indentation marks at the top of the cab which are only noticeable under close inspection. These are great cabs and I have have had some great quality slip covers made for them. The DBX160A compressor is just a great compressor and probably one of the very best for bass - period. I have two (one which I use in my WT400 rig and the other which has been used just the once - with the WT800 at rehearsal). All in all this rig new would set you back over three grand: 1300 for the Eden - ***NOW SOLD***http://www.bassmerchant.com/item_detail.ph...p;category_id=2 1400 for the cabs and covers (which were 35 each) - http://www.thebassgallery.com/ea.html 330 for the DBX160A ***NOW SOLD*** - http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~D...0A~ID~10761.asp As stated, the amp and compressor are practically new and the cabs in excellent condition. Looking fior a nice bass (preferably 5 string but not esssential). Here's a picture of the WT800B and DBX160A: Some specs of the Eden WT800B from the Eden web site: Since its introduction 12 years ago, the WT-800 World Tour has been the number one choice of our touring endorsers. Our new "B" version now boasts an improved cooling system and more power. Conservatively rated at 440 Watts (4Ω) per side with both channels driven, and 880W bridged into 8Ω and a whopping 1100 Watts bridged into 4Ω (with a minimum of 3dB of headroom), the WT800B is still the perfect choice for the touring professional. Standard features include: switchable automatic compression, mute, five-way semi-parametric tone control, electronic crossover, pre and post effect loops, stereo aux inputs, DI out with ground lift, level and pre-/post-EQ select, headphone out, tuner out, and a thermostatically controlled fan. $2,099.90 WT800B SPECS Power 8Ω/4Ω/2Ω 2 X 440W RMS @ 4Ω Power Mono Bridge 880W RMS @ 8Ω Distortion <.1% Frequency Response 10Hz - 15KHz ±2dB Headroom 3dB Dimensions 17"w x 3.5"h x 12"d Weight 26 LBS Some specs on the CXL112: The new CXL-112 features our custom Kevlar 12" driver with coaxial tweeter. Well, being a bass player this gets no use but she sure is pretty, and super rare with a solid Brazilian Rosewood neck and fingerboard. In pristine condition - looking for a top bass in exchange. We are talking Alembic, Fodera, Rickenbacker Chris Squire, early Fender territory here. Maybe a 'special' Wal would just tempt me.

You should get close to dating it by the serial number. Try this site: http://www.musicmanbass.org/ You should bear in mind that, despite being the more expensive bass when sold new, Sabres typically go for 25% less than their Stingray equivalent. What would be handy to know is the weight as some of these were heavy to the extreme - I had one that weighed over 13lbs! If it's a lightweight one it should do a lot better. Best of luck.

I'm loving it. Does anyone remember the Bass Surgery stuff.....

They are fun to play, although the tuning takes some getting used to. Here's mine, a Weber longhorn: -
Musicman Stingray - Such a love/hate relationship
alanbass1 replied to Linus27's topic in Bass Guitars
I have had two Ernie Ball Stingrays and they weren't for me. But my '79 really is a beauty, lightweight Alder body and maple neck. I think the through body stringing and more substantial bridge makes a big difference.
