Like others have said, Sadowsky are excellent basses and extremely well put together. One word of advice is that if you do go for a Metro make sure it has the passive tone control fitted. I was at the Bass Gallery a few months back on my hunt for a great Jazz Bass. Both Metro's they had never had the passive tone control and I found them far too hi-fi and bright for my taste - although I have tried an NYC before and the VTC done a good job at taming this. I ended up paying 300 quid more for an immaculate 2nd hand Cellinder Jazz which had everything I was looking for, including the growl.

Up for grabs is my all original '61 slab board Fender Jazzmaster. Well almost - the only non original thing is that it has had a super pro refret to original fretwire specifications and the fingerboard was levelled to make it play as well as it did when she was first manufactured. Every other part is original, including the original case. It's a great guitar that is getting no use so if any of you are, or have a guitarist, looking for a great old fender that is a little different from the usual start/tele, here is a beauty. I would also be interested in P/X for a nice old Jazz Bass (60's/early 70's) or a Fender Custom Shop relic. Or would sell for 3900.
As this is only a feeler I think it's Ok to make a comment on the price of the Eden head. Brand new ones are listing at under £900 in the States and because the transformer has a switching power supply they are a good purchase for travellers wishing to bring one back to the UK. £100 discount for an older model type probably isn't going to attract a lot of interest.
I accept partly what you say. But the WT800B and WT800C are virtually identical - unlike the move from the standard WT800 to the B version which saw a significant power increase and the ability to go to 2 ohms (4 ohms bridged). Also, with the current excange rate it's a little over £900 to buy one direct from the states. Add to that shipping, which could add as much as £100, and the fact that there is 17.5% VAT and 4.5% duty which will add another £180, someone getting one direct from the States should anticipate spending between £1100 and £1200. Thomann is selling the WT800C for £1400: http://www.thomann.de/gb/eden_wt_800c.htm Also, if someone wanted the whole stack the price goes down further and I would always entertain sensible offers. Lastly, my preference would be a trade for a bass so that might be a good option for someone wanting such a head that has a spare bass lying around that they don't use. All in all, I feel pretty OK with the price I'm indicating, especially as the head is as good as new (probably better than any that's been on demo) and I'm not really in any hurry to offload it - it just seems a shame to have such a piece of kit that gets no use. -

I have just come back from a 3 year work assignment in the states and thought I might get to do some playing whilst out there so I picked up this amp new from Bass Central. However, work commitments were such that I never got to join a band and the amp sat in my spare room. When I returned from my assignment in June I came back to the amps that I had in storage and the type of gigs I'm currently doing just does not warrant the power of the WT800B (I have a WT400 plus which is my main gigging amp). The amp has had about 20 hours of home use and is as new with no marks or knocks whatsoever. Being from he States it is the dual voltage model (110/220) so can be used anywhere if you are likely to tour. Details of the amp can be found here which describes the 'C' variant, although from what I see/read there is no difference (the 'B' version also has improved cooling and greater power - 440 watts per channel @ 4 ohms/ 550 watts per channel @ 2ohms - 880 watts briged @ 8 ohms/ 1100 watts bridged @ 4 ohms) http://www.eden-electronics.com/products/a...indiv/wt800.asp I thought I would put it up here to see whether there is any interest. (Sensible) Cash offers welcome or trades for a nice bass would be considered. I could also put up two EA CXL112 cabs (one immaculate and one with some (very) minor wear) with the amp for the right bass - this would make an awesome rig.
Hi there... looking to possibly trade my Epifani UL-110 for an EBS Neo 110 to match my 112. It was bought from the Bass Gallery last summer. Apart from a bit of wear on the corners, it's in great condition. Based in South London. Should have pictures up soon.
You have a pm

I have a WT800B and use this in Bi-amp mode so it makes perfect sense having a speaker more suited to the low end taking care of that end of the spectrum and a different speaker type more suited to the mid/high's. I'm currently using a pair of EA CXL112's for the low end and a 4ohm Epifani UL210 for the 50kh and above. Taking the low frequencies away from the Epifani really helps with the definition and I find I don't need so much volume to cut through the mix. Being a 4 strng user the EA's are more than capable of giving a solid bottom end - if I had a 5 stringer I would likely get a 15" speaker.

Fantastic bass in immaculate condition. I don't play it as I have two pre CBS P Basses. Lightweight (under 8lbs), VTC and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Comes with Sadowsky lightweight gig case. Looking for a 60's (with cash my end) or early 70's jazz bass (lightweight - as a straight deal) or a Sadowsky jazz bass. Always open to offers and being tempted by other high end basses, but really looking for a jazz type at the moment.

I've tried most of the pedal compressors out there and none of them do what I want - I still have my EBS Multicomp, Boss and Keeley compressors. I recently picked up a DBX160A (£270 new from DV247) and this does exactly what I want and then some and very easy to dial in (unlike most rack units I've used).

I love my P Basses, especially my '62 and '63: and they don't sound too bad with an active:
