1. Thanks, I'll weigh it later and see what it comes out at. Interesting that it could have a real bearing on price
2. As above, I have a Yamaha SLB-100 Silent Bass for sale in excellent condition. I'm selling this on behalf of a neighbour of mine who sadly died recently so I don't know a whole lot about it although will be happy to answer any questions anyone has if I can. It has a Spruce/Mahogany body, a maple neck and ebony finger board and overall weight is 10kg. I know this is a pretty specialist piece of equipment and they're pretty expensive new, but from reading replies to my post relating to this (http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=44254) I think around £900 is about right. If you have any questions or want any further information please reply to the post or call 07977 530085. Thanks Toby Now sold
3. Hi all, as per the thread at http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=44254 I have a Music Man Sabre in black, excellent condition with a soft case. I'm not 100% sure of the value as per the previous thread, but think about £1300 or so would be about right. I believe that this is influenced by the year it was made but I don't know how to take it apart to find out, so if anyone was seriously interested then I'd be happy to try and get this done to confirm the date of manufacture. I'm selling this on behalf of a neighbour that sadly died at Christmas hence my limited knowledge of the bass and value etc. I'm based just outside Milton Keynes and can be reached on 07977 530085 if anyone has any other questions. Thanks for looking Toby
4. Thanks, I don't think I'll be taking it apart any time soon, that's asking for trouble! I'm based near Milton Keynes
5. Thanks for the good comments guys, knowing next to nothing about bass guitars even I think they look cool. Forgive my Ignorance but what is a sabre? Is that just a particular make? Thanks
6. ok, sorry for the slight delay but I now have pics of the silent bass and the Vanden bass meantioned earlier, and also another bass guitar - a Music Man. As I said before I don't know anything about these really or what they're worth, but if someone could give me a clue certainly on the two guitars I'd really appreciate it. I hope the pics work, this is the first time I've uploaded pics on this site... I have got other pics and also other instruments (trumpets etc) if anyone is interested in seeing those. Thanks for looking
7. Thanks, I'll have some photos of it over the next day or so and I'll post them up. We spoke to mike vanden but he just confirmed he had made it and who he made it for, no real idea on value. It's colour/design is called sunburst I think. Does look lovely I have to admit
8. Thanks for that, I'll post some pics in the for sale thread when I've taken some.
9. Hi all, This is a pretty shameless one off ask for help - I'm not a musician (although I do love music!) and haven't got the first clue about bass playing etc, but I am hoping that someone can help me. Recently a neighbour of mine sadly died, and his widow has asked me if I'd help her try and sell some of his music gear (he was in a jazz band). He's got a garage full of stuff which I don't have the first idea about. The first thing I've got is a Yamaha SLB-100 silent bass. I don't really know how much it's worth or the best place (apart from ebay) to sell this type of thing, I'm guessing it's quite a specialist piece of equipment. The guy from Yamaha reckons it might be about £900 or so but I have no idea whether this is realistic or not. Any help/advice regarding how much this would be worth or the best place to sell would be greatly appreciated. The second item that I will be helping to sell is a Vanden bass guitar which was made for Dave Pegg of Fairport Convention. Again, I have no idea how much something like that would be worth and whether it would be a collector's item type of thing or something someone would just want to buy to play. Any initial help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
