My old Fender Bassman - don`t know what wattage it was - was incredibly loud, but at those volumes a clean sound would not come out of it. I`m sure it would have given my 500 watt mini-amps a run on volume, but clean, not a chance.
lozz is spot on my old orange ad140b valve amp was bloody defining however was totally over driven and dirt, where as my tb1000 can go silly loud and unless i crank the gain stay clean, however best loud clean amp ive had was still my markbass lm2. but in general i have the 1000 even tho really id be fine with the 500 just so if i need to push the volume up a bit im not running the amp at above 12 o clock andy

boss ls-2? allows you to toggle between a and b for input? andy
-
loved this program, hated the parts with the edge, although it is funny when he gets lost in his effects board! jack and jimmy are the stars of that show! andy

I have a orange tb1000, i wouldnt say its trying to hard to be a valve amp, proper valve pre, you will never run out of headroom on it. The eq is limited however for a rock sound its fine. Well worth a try. Andy
Here's my 'Aeolus' pedal Tom built. It's his Darklighter drive on the right hand side, a Hao Rust Ride clone on the left and a Brown Source clone in the middle. And here's a very basic demo I recorded straight into my Mac with a Lakland Duck Dunn P bass (Lindy Fralin p/u, tone wide open). Its Brown Source clone, then Darklighter then Hao clone then same order again only lower down the fret board and finally all three together for that gnarly tone! hi guys got this as i had an idea for a sound and its just not worked out, nothing wrong with the pedal its brand new! just didnt sound right for the song. the phase 99 is basically 2 phase 90's in one box (the same size as a regular phase 90) you can switch between the script and block type phase sound with the vintage button and also choose to have the two phasers run in series or parallel, or you can sync them both together and control both with one knob. but if you want to just have a standard phase 90 theres an internal switch that means you can turn of the second one and it becomes either a script or block letter phaser. oh and it has an out for each one if you want to run stereo. really is a very nice phaser indeed! its brand new so £95 posted is what id like, im always open to trades so pm me with those. andy

so had it in the rig for band practice yesterday, and its a very cool sounding pedal, sound wise after the dirt i have on my board it sounds very nice but sadly the idea i had for it hasnt really worked out and my cog effects (red 5) chorus is actually working out better so this will be going up for sale i think. andy

My guitarist just got this head and i have to say we are all massively impressed and anyone looking for a very affordable loud amp which sounds nice for rock metal or blues seriously should check out the engl gigmaster 15 or 30. and they are 2 channel! with a mid boost! that is all! andy

our gig last night was the hottest gig ever! venue is in a basement, with no aircon! go figure there was sweat on the walls and all over the floor! but the show was sick! played with a london band called "one for Sorrow" and a cornwall based band called "bad horsie" awesome night and a decent turn out! andy

only a few days away! any basschatters fancy coming down! andy

i use a few different distortions to get a bit more variety my terror, have a mesa flux drive gives a nice grind to the sound and boosts the treble with out loosing low end, but if im in a really boomy room of need to cut thru guitar walls ill hit the lateral root, yes it cuts bottom out but again almost re eq's the amp for me to take away the boom. but the main thing that i do or used to is to use a rack eq infront to add to the eq options worked really well. andy
I had a play a good while ago. The combination of the two phases can sound amazing! Some amazing textures here. I loved the feature of setting the two phases sequentially too. Enjoy your new toy!
this is what im thinking ill use vintage setting with them running at the same time. andy
-
will let you know as it maybe a bit much, with it being two! andy

just grabbed myself on of these from evil bay. i do like how the phase 90 sounds on bass and looking for something dif to my chorus, and as this is 2 phase 90 in one box it should be a lot dif, looking forward to trying this out with some dirt. andy

bargain id say! love these amps always wanted one but alas never been able to find one for the right price andy
-
anyone use this to help mould a dirty signal? just thinking of something like this at the end of all my pedals to add a bit of eq and bass boost, and its smaller than both the aggie and sansamp di's plus i dnt need the dist from those. andy
-
def starting to sound like theres something up with that amp, looking at your settings there nothing extreme going on with the amp, and if you have turned input and ouput to max you shouldnt be able to stand near it let alone want it louder! andy
-
its for this cabling reason i bought myself a speakon to jack cable so handy when you turn up to a gig using another bands cab and they only have jack inputs. it could be down to the 115 not being the greatest cab in the world, doubt you head not being the same brand has alot to do with it. andy
If you bought it from here for what seems to be the going price you have no doubt got it for what seems to be the going price for Aq Octimizers and the B3 does an awful lot more besides. Plus, if it's not for you, you'll shift it on pretty quick. Win win really.
ive always found multi effects just made me crave the single pedals again, but hope all goes well! andy
Andy, Yeah, the guy I bought the Ashdown off keeps saying that I should check out Sansamp bass drivers or whatever. It just really doesn't feel loud enough, like EQ aside, its really not jumping out there, there's none of that bass boom. It's weird. I need to try it through another cab really to get an idea. Josh
well worth a try thru a 212 or 410 cab. andy

id be tempted to try the route of eq first, i have never been wanting for volume when using a trace 1153 a few years back with a markbass head which only put out 300w at 8 ohm. also if its a i cant hear myself volume problem then i would def try eq as alot of things could be in your freq range especially with two guitar doing a mid scoop sound, try as has been suggested above i think try cutting the bass and boosting mids (mids are your friend) also there is the possibly sad truth that you just dnt like the sound the mag puts out, so maybe a dif head or a preamp pedal into the poweramp section, ie something like a sansamp or dunlop m-80 could be a cheaper solution to a new rig andy
