The EHX Micro POG has three controls. One for dry signal, one for low octave, one for high octave. It's versatile. Just blend between the three to your taste/ requirements. It really is a great pedal, and like I alluded to before, it tracks perfectly. I'm not aware of another octaver which does. The effected sound isn't the "cleanest" that I've heard ... but it's a great sound and I LOVE it. These are circa £150 new, and it's relatively rare to see them second hand (probably for good reason). You were asking about something cheap ... I've had a couple of Boss OC-3's. These also have a polyphonic function (both octave up and down), with a range control. In this mode the effect definitely sounds clean and it tracks really well (way better than the OC-2 and Octabass that I've used). It also has an "OC-2" mode, although it falls short of replicating the OC-2. You can get it quite synthy sounding with the dry signal rolled back, which is cool, although the tracking in this mode is as poor as an actual OC-2. There's also a "Drive" mode which sounds properly dirty and fat with just a wee bit of low octave dialed in. I like the OC-3. It deserves more love. I think that somebody is selling on here for £45 at the moment. Not bad, I reckon.
Dnt think the oc-3 has an octave up dude does it? Andy
I don't think you want the Organizer, it's a bit more specialised, it has lag control and does +2 & -2 as well. Look at the EHX POG or the COG T-65, definitely look at the latter.....currently waiting on mine Si
As i said above only good things to say about the t65 from cog mine doesnt have the loop part which makes ieven better! The filter is awesome aswell
yeah getting a bit nervous about the weight! I weighed my SWR and flightcase, thinking it would be similar, it isn't. SWR and flightcase only 50lbs, SVT head 80lbs. However as Im the poor sod with the majority of the PA as well, ( active subs, passive tops but no more wedge monitors thank god) and a sack carrier is mandatory, Im hoping I'll get away with it. The Warwick 411 is so heavy it's now on castors. Seem to be going in a completely opposite direction weight wise to the majority of people on bass chat! But.....always , always wanted a 300 Watt Tube monster.. and you only live once...
they are bloody heavy! andy -
How the neck dive (if there is any)? One of the very few complaints ive read by a few owners have mentioned this.
i use a dunlop strap and dnt really notice any neck dive, i do have my bass very low, but dnt notice that im holding the neck up, unlike when i had a gibby thunderbird which hurt. andy -
Ordered the Mini's! Got on the way the Mini Corona Chorus, Mini Flashback and (the not so new) Mini HOF reverb. I have downloaded the TonePrint editor too, looks like you can do anything you want on the pedal. I will keep you posted. Byron.
do you know if you can add to the pedals, ie can you setup to sounds like they do in some of the toneprints that they have? andy
is that -3dB at 37hz, -6dB at 37hz, -10db at 37hz or what? it's almost meaningless as a number without that!
tbh i dnt know, doesnt seem to say anywhere on the ashdown site. andy
-
Interesting re "the fridges", plus Ashdowns speakers seem to operate only down to about 70Hz as well, and they`re seen on many stages all over the place, with many pros using them. As above, tone is in the mids.
apparently my mag 810 goes to 37hz! weird? andy

this def works, i use the cog effects octave for this to fatten up things as well as kicking in a second dirt pedal. andy
From what I've been told on here & other places in the past, a good compressor needs good metering to be used effectively as a transparent compressor. Unfortunately, there's only a select few that fit that criteria & the only one I remember the name of is the MarkBass Compressore. But it might be a little too large for you.
yeh sadly the mb is a bit to big, looking for something about the same size of the boss maybe a bit smaller andy -
FEA used to do a pedal that was crazy controllable that, a hi and low side, you can change the filter positions and how much drive each had and a clean blend too IIRC. Solid things sound great just rarer than a rare thing
however on the root i do have the low gain on full lol andy
I think you and I are looking for very different things out of a compressor. I'm wanting a subtle always on compressor. One with no low end loss. One that doesn't sound like a compressor, just adds even-ness and "punch" in the mix. IMO, and Ovnilab's, the MXR is in a league above the compressors you mention.
this sounds like what i want, to be able to comp things a bit but mainly just even out the extremes andy -
i can see this happening! serious earthquaker gas is happening, and am getting a few pedals to review for a new you tube thing im doing. keep the idea coming guys im checking them all out andy -
If money is no object check out the Origin Effects Cali76TX. it's awesome!
did consider that only problem is the size, tried them out at mansons and they are nice! andy -

hi all! [sharedmedia=core:attachments:161174] basically ive just done my tax return and will be getting a nice chunk of monies so thinking i might upgrade a few bit on my board! the heart of my board and going nowhere! is my COG Effects custom " Red 5" which covers my reverb, chorus, octave and fuzz. i also have my Mesa flux drive which covers my more grindy low end overdrive needs, and from Lateral Sounds ive got the Root distortion which covers my high gain crunch (basically filth) sounds. however here we come to pedals im thinking of upgrading, as my rack eq died and i was using that to cut everything below 20hz going to my amp (we tune to d standard and lower) as some protection for the speakers,so thinking of grabbing a boss eq to deal with that. but i also have a boss limiter to squash things a bit and take of the peaks to again protect the amp no this was what i thought could be replaced. my ideas straight of are the aguilar comp, the Earthquaker devices Warden, or the mxr comp now there a bit of a difference in price and the earthquaker being the cheapest but also seems to give a little bit more with it having a tone knob to dial in a bit more which i kind like the idea of, this would be on all the time. any thoughts welcome. andy

finally got to use this in a full band context on sunday! everything sits really nice, need to get used to having an octave pedal again but each effect is very good! the versatility of the fuzz is what i love can go to knarly treble fizz to quite frankly ridiculous subs! its a beast! plain and simple! andy
Nice bass tone! On the Root pedal, can you leave the lows clean and only distort highs?
not totally clean, but the girth control lets you keep alot of the low end. andy
