The best type of buffoon! haha, bet your missus loves it I think most of the guys around here think exactly the same as you though
-
That isn't that many tbh... and if you're buying such an expensive bass it's reassuring. Two things are for sure though: 1. that neck is beautiful! 2. The seller has NO IDEA how to string a bass
Its all going my way this weekend, played a blinder of a gig last night, City beat Arsenal 3-0 and I've finally ended up with this bass. I promised Chris I would take his Precision fretless off him if my lottery numbers come up tonight....the way things are going you never know
You can buy us all a bass each then -
Awesome, sounds like you got a good deal on it
The new 1515L's are UNBELIEVABLY light. I can lift one, one-handed at arms length, to shoulder height briefly.
Haha i'd like to see you do that with my ashdown MAG cabs, 30KG a piece!! my rig comes to about 70kg in total, and it's not even that big!

tinnitus scares me i get it after gigs quite often, i should probably wear ear plugs but i never bother, so it's my own fault if i do get it permanently i guess
-
Haha to a point, though what i'm saying is, if i really liked the colour it would be worth it. It's all about what you're willing to pay, though you probably got that
-
Hmm, the more i look at it, the more i like it!
-
That roscoe is gorgeous! EDIT: that warmoth SG is gorgeous too what wood is it made of? looks like walnut?
They were going for significantly less over a year ago. Good basses, but I'd certainly pay no more than £650 for one now Chris
Really? I'd pay £850 for one in good condition and in the right finish (desert gold... yum) considering the rarity. (if i had £850 to spend!!!)
I've played quite a few Sterlings in shops here and don't actively hunt them out. Bongos seem to be thinner on the ground. The new bass looks very promising. I like the shape and quite fancy an SSS fretless.
Damn, i must be looking in the wrong places Ever tried a bongo? awesome necks
-
I'm not one for the whole vintage fad that's going on right now, but that's a nice looking bass
-
This bass looks pretty promising, going to have to try one when they come out (might be waiting a while though!)
Good luck! I've never even seen a sterling in a shop over here and only one bongo, i think you'll be hard pushed to find one!
-
Looks like Sterling's been dodging the pies of late. It looks short scale in that pic but I can't imagine for one minute it is. Does it have a name?
Aye sterling's been on a diet and quit drinking (i'm on those forums WAY too much ) No short scale either, just a really fat body i think And nope, no name yet
-
I've been told that your strings can affect your intonation, though i wouldn't think it would affect it THAT much... My SUB bass is kinda similar in that the saddles are RIGHT up to the end of the bridge/screws
interesting - don't know if I like it though. Do we know what the neck profile is likely to be? - Similar to a Sterling? Just a guess cos it looks nice and narrow.
Yep, very sterling-ish neck profile. At's also supposed to have lightweight tuners with 4 wings so it's easier to tune and a smaller headstock so it balances properly. It looks rather interesting. Also apparently it's going to be available in H, HH, HSS and SSS i think they said. I may have missed some out too EDIT: the words from the man himself
This will be available is single H, 2 H (On the two H the bridge pick up will be where the sting ray and sterling is), HSS and SSS The neck profile will resemble a sterling the electronics will be based on the bongo with a few twists!!!!!!(All of you who liked the sound of the bongo but couldnt get used to it will be happy... There will be a passive component also

If anyone is interested in the streamer and hasn't figured it out yet its on Reverb music. Ciao
Damn, all the musicman SUB guitars are gone They were an effin stupid price too

Here's a thread on the EBMM forums for the new proto EBMM bass. It's supposed to look like the axis apparently and the full model will get a figured maple top, binding and some sweeeet finishes same as the axis. I'm not sure whether i like it or not right now, i'm not generally a fan of fat bodied basses, but i think it will look nicer when it's done. Here's sterling having a play I have to say i'm quite intrigued as to what those buttons do, a lot are thinking each is a pickup select and the bottom button is an active/passive switch then the 4 band bongo EQ, but what does that knob do that would be the blend?
-
Ah right, slap some schallers or gotohs in there Also i don't think they have any more in, i went in last weds and i didn't see any and i had a good look around (nice fretless westone though). My tobias is pretty damn heavy too with it's bubinga wings but ah well.

Looks pretty nice Though that intonation issue is very strange indeed
