budget bassist

All my basses have cost me £350 or less, and if i'm honest, i can't see a really expensive £1000 bass doing anything they can't do or doing anything particularly better.

did someone on here ACTUALLY report that?

Don't get me wrong, i'd quite like a battered old 3TS jazz bass to just hang on my wall, it looks good, but i'd like to get it there myself, rather than buying it with lots of mojo, and i do think they're way overpriced anyway.

I don't really see the draw either. In my opinion, instruments are improved upon for a reason, and it doesn't make sense to pay more for something because it's old. i'd rather have something reasonably new that isn't battered to sh*t, and if i did have a mojo'd bass, i'd want it to be MY mojo, not someone elses.

Looks like a bit of a bargain if it's as old as it looks. Ask the seller for the serial number and check it against the ones on the fender site.

oower missus, i didn't know tanglewood did a warwick corvette copy. I've seen a westfield loosely based on a warwick thumb... ugly f***ing thing! Yours looks alright though, looks like it has some potential.

Bought some straplocks and a strap off jono, they arrived today and its all working nicely. He provided some instructions to rival the ones from dunlop too ta muchly!

Around here the majority of the bands are comprised of teenagers under 20, and a lot of them can't afford a decent bass/rig, let alone a car to get it there! So i don't mind letting them use my rig too much, my band's equipment tends to be used by everyone on the night, because (i don't like to be big headed or anything) we have fairly good equipment in comparison to most other people's. Sometimes other bands bring their own stuff, sometimes they ask to use mine, and that's fine. The ones that don't ask, and then act like a prick to me afterwards, they're the ones i don't like and don't get to use it again. Fortunately i've only encountered a couple, and we didn't play with them again. Nobody borrows my basses though. If they can't bring their own bass, then they're not a bassist, and if they beat the hell out of their own bass and break it on stage, they sure as hell aren't getting their hands on mine!
