1. if only it was in black...
2. sooo who was that then?
3. I don't get that, i think it looks pretty contraversial, i really don't think it looks like a loo seat though... unless you had like a cheap plastic looking white one...
4.
Would these prices be correct if the Black Cherry Burst or Pacific Blue Burt had matching coloured heads or would this bump the price up a little more?
trans blue colours tend to be pretty desirable, i'd pay up to about £800-£850 if i found a good condition single H pacific blueburst SR4 with maple board and unmatching headstock. It's more what you're prepared to pay than anything. If enough people think like then obviously it'll sell for more on ebay, and the one's i've seen do.
5.
2. I have four headless basses. The idea is that you can play faster as there is no weight on the left wrist & the balance of the instrument is as good as perfect. Also as a previous contributor mentioned, you have a decreased chance of hitting your headstocks against people/walls/other stuff.
My lead guitarist head butted the headstock of my MM at a gig once he managed to hit the G string tuner too so not too pleasant i'd imagine
6. A nice trans blue bass will always win me over, a pacific blue burst musicman stingray, yum! A nice back routed trans blue burst jazz bass with a flamed maple top would be pretty sweet too.
7. between £550 and £750ish depending...
8.
Was just wondering outa curiosity...what do you gain from having a fretless bass? Or a headless? (Apart from looking good) Another one....how loud can acousto-electrics go? A third random question!...How does the sounds change as the neck scale increases/decreases? This is mainly because I'm wanting to get another bass somewhen soon...when money appears....and wanted it to be 'different' Is it true that red basses make you play faster? And finaly...how are you today?
1. 'that' fretless sound, and an unending possibility of notes i guess, and not a clue! 2. Not very 3. not a clue, never tried a shortscale 4. yes 5. I'm not too bad thanks, and yourself?
9. wow, there's some stonking basses going up for sale tonight!
10.
that looks a stella price, should be snapped up
+2! that should be gone in no time!
11.
How come this has had 3 different owners in such close succession? I can’t work it out cos it looks like a great bass!
It's a very nice bass, but with two musicmans (one of which i wouldn't be able to sell and the other one being pretty special to me) it didn't get played much, don't get me wrong, it's a very nice bass, i'll vouch for that, i just wanted something a little different
I nearly let you know first so it wouldn't be such a shock. It's the idea of turning two into one that appeals most. Plus the ever elusive search for tone and "The One" I used to be like this with girlfriends until I got married
That's fair enough man. I would like that G&L back, i'd like that SR900 even more! i can't afford either though Good luck selling anyway and i hope you find the right bass!
12. how come you're getting rid? That G&L is becoming a bit of a basschat bike! EDIT: it was you that nabbed that SR900 i was going to get instead of the G&L! haha
13. Thanks i saw that one earlier, might give it a go, thanks for your help guys!
14.
Has anyone emailed them a link to this thread? [email protected]
I did that a while ago for the last bass cellar-bashing thread, obviously they paid no notice and i never got a reply.
15. My band's 'last' (this will be our second 'last' gig ) gig, it will be at the seven stars in hucknall, i'd imagine things will kick off around 6 o clock ish on halloween obviously so friday night. It's £3 on the door or £2 if you're dressed up, so make sure you use your imagination I think the music will be a mixture between metal, rock and punk, so something for everyone! I'll be well chuffed if some of you guys could come watch us I think some other bands have been added to the bill so doors may be opening earlier, not too sure yet, but here's the poster, corrupted fate is my band, get your asses down there!!
16. Ah thanks guys, i only need to be able to change the channel and that's it, under the output jack for the footswitch it says reverb though, but it's not switchable on the front of the amp so i'm just assuming you can only switch channels. The amp is a randall RX75R but i might try a marshall one. I'm pretty sure it's this footswitch i need, but i can't find it in the UK or be arsed to ship it, though at 10$ it might be worth it, if i can find someone that will ship here. Oops, just found one here, but they're a bit expensive How do i find out if it's a momentary or latching switch?
17. admittedly i was being a bit harsh and i sent a PM apologising to the OP...
18.
Personally i dont think it was rude and i would have had a come back to it, but then i wasnt there. If you go in to a shop with an attitude (and im not saying you did but im sure you had an idea about what people think of that shop) then you probalby will be on your guard and we all know the BC is a very easy target. Walk out by all means and i wasnt really haveing a go at you for doing that, it was more the way everyone chips in with "brick the place" etc. I find threads like this tend to escalate with people who werent there or have never even met these people giving opininons on everything form how they should die to whether his perents were married before he was born. Im all for reading about good and bad shop staff but when it gets personal and i find it then looses the point. I find you above post very childish though. so you expect people to be polite to you but you would go in to a shop with that attitiude. Im guessing you wouldnt really do that but im also guessing you would like to. How about this. Dont go back there. That way you have the satifaction of not maiking them any profit. This is just my opinion. I know im the only one with it so ill bow out of this. Hope you get the bass you wanted at some point, It will help make up the numbers ;-)
I wasn't the OP by the way, if that's what you think? And i'd never be rude to someone in a shop unless they were to me. I'd love to be able to go in there and be treated well and try some nice basses out and possibly buy one, have a good chat with the staff about gear and stuff and walk out of there thinking i was treated well and didn't feel obliged to buy anything necessarily like i do in so many other place, but that's not really going to happen, from what i've experienced there before. I'd just like to be as stuck up to them as they are to some of their potential customers because i don't think a lot of people stand up to them and tell them what they really think in case they come off as rude or something. Personally i think it's time that people start speaking their mind, people don't tend to do that a lot these days. What i said may have been slightly childish, but the way the staff in that shop is nothing but.
19. There was a guy that was going to buy it but missed i think.
20.
Ewww!! There again, I think the important line in the description is Model: StingRay 5 Size: 13-3/8" wide, 1-3/4" thick, 45-3/4" long (34.0 cm wide, 4.5 cm thick, 116.2 cm long) Weight: 10 lbs (4.54 kg) - varies slightly Body Wood: Ash and so on... Just how does he manage to get the weight of the thing to change??
They quote that on the musicman website, not every piece of ash weighs exactly the same

22. alright then, anyway, i'm gonna leave this guy to sell the bass, obviously he doesn't want to take our advice, whether his thread title is blatantly trying mislead people or not.
23.
I don't have to. I'm right. You're wrong.
Although i think squier was in the title to begin with?
24. Right. I said you're making yourself look like a bit of an idiot by putting spam words into the thread title and that he's just making himself look a bit of a twat because it looks like he's just joined the forum to sell his bass. That's what i said. I didn't mean it as offensively as you're taking and maybe i could have worded it better, but that's what i said.
