1.
Yep, it's an 1100s and fine example by the looks of it. I had a slightly later one of these. Fantastic bass, switchable between active and passive, very versatile. Whoever buys will be well happy ;-)
Very true... from the mouth of the Yamaha connoisseur himself!
2. Graeme bought my Headway preamp earlier this week- paid quickly and no hassles... thanks mate
3. Just completed another easy transaction with Iain this week- bought a Peli Storm carry case to house the REDDI I previously bought from him. It was posted within hours of transferring the cash to him, and arrived safely and quickly as promised. Thanks again mate!
4. Hi everyone, I bought this new from the Wunjo Bass shop on Denmark Street last June- I've since switched to using an Fdeck clone with my upright that I'm very happy with, so this is no longer required. It's in good cosmetic condition (just one small paint chip on one side- see photo), and it works perfectly. Great for all acoustic instruments- not just DB! It comes in the original box with the factory 18V power supply, plus a mic stand adaptor ring and detachable belt clip (unused). I'm after just £95 for this- pretty much half of what I bought it for! Fast UK postage is included in the price. EDIT: NOW SOLD
5. Thanks mate, appreciate that!
6. I've just taken delivery of Iain's REDDI this morning. It arrived well packed, and in great condition inside and out- turning up when he said it would. The total price I paid was a bargain too, considering that Iain threw fast insured shipping into the deal... Communication has been great throughout, with constant updates on both the payment and shipping, and photos to show what was happening... couldn't ask for more really! Deal with confidence people! Etienne
7. About time! Did Callum buy it?
8. I bought this superb sounding amp from bobbass4k back in January 2013 on this very forum. Prior to this, I believe it was owned by tayste_2000, so it's been kept in the family! It's the earlier silverface MK I version, and I believe it dates back to the early Seventies. Since buying it, I've spent a further £150 getting it fully serviced and made absolutely tip-top by Salford's valve amp guru Roland Lumby (The Amp Clinic). Aside from the service itself, some minor operational niggles (loose knobs) have been sorted, plus the wooden chassis sleeve has been reinforced, with additional battens glued and clamped to the internal corners. Both transformer's legs have been re-straightened. The original Bulgin power connector had already been upgraded to a modern IEC kettle-lead socket when I bought it, so it's much safer to use on a regular basis. The amp operates either at 15 or 7.5 ohms (operationally, take this as 16 or 8 ohms). I will supply a series speaker connector box with the amp, which will allow you to connect up a pair of 8 ohm cabs and run off the 15 ohm tap if needed. The input section has a quartet of identical ECC83 valves that came out of an old S-W PA 200 I used to own. They're all unbranded except for one ('EEC 83' in white block script). I've been running them in the amp for the past year with absolutely no issues, and they sound great. The output section is running a quartet of Groove Tubes EL34s- these were all tested as good by Roland at the time of the service, and collectively produce the full 100 Watts that this amp is capable of. I used this head along with my REDDI to track all the parts on my band's forthcoming album (using the exact same valve set), and we ended up favouring the mic'ed amp tone for the majority of the mixes... that should give you an idea of how good it sounds! The plexiglass front panel has survived the years relatively unscathed, with just one minor crack to the left of Channel 1, plus a few surface scratches. All four channels work perfectly, and every control knob on the front panel operates smoothly and securely. There is a minor chip on the face of the Presence knob, but otherwise they're all in good order. Channel 1 was wired for a slightly darker, smoother tone when I bought it, and I decided to keep it this way- it sounds excellent for Motown/classic R&B with the tone knob backed off on a P-Bass. The other three channels are as standard, and a lot brighter- lots of fun can be had daisy-chaining multiple channels with different settings! My personal favourite combination is plugging into 1, then linking into 2, for a classic, well-rounded P-Bass tone. This would make an excellent gigging/recording workhorse for somebody- with an efficient multiple speaker setup, it can definitely push some air! It's only been gigged once since I've owned it, and it performed faultlessly through the venue's Orange 4x10. Otherwise, apart from a handful of recording sessions during 2015, it's been kept safely in my flat as an occasional overkill practise amp, and warmed up/run/cooled down at least a couple of times a month. I would like a firm £300 for this, which I think is very fair considering it owes me £500! No offers or trades please, I'm after a cash sale only. ***SOLD***
9.
I sold a gig bag to Etienne. It was a terrific transaction with prompt email communication and immediate payment. A pleasure to deal with
Likewise Gareth!
10. Just took delivery of a Protec Contego gigbag from Gareth this afternoon. It has arrived in superb condition (just as described), helped by the sturdy shipping box and choice of courier (UPS). Great comms throughout the deal, as others here have noted. Highly recommended!
11. Great price! GLWTS
12.
Bought Etienne’s VT Bass DI –a really nice chap to do business with and it arrived it mega fast time. Took me a day to get through the packing tape mind, it was that well wrapped…
Think of it less as 'belt and braces'... and more of a 'biohazard suit' approach to shipping...
13. Steve has just taken delivery of the VT Bass DI I sold him at the weekend- as others have said, a pleasure to deal with. Fast comms, payment was immediate and hassle-free, and he very kindly threw in a bit extra to cover the Paypal fees... what a gent! Thanks again Steve, hope you enjoy using it this evening...
14. I bought this from BC's Kev at the start of February- it's still in the same mint condition that I acquired it in. I'm selling as it's surplus to my requirements- to be honest I'd been GASing for one for ages, and just wanted to see what the fuss was about! It works perfectly, and comes in the tin with the manual and warranty card as shown. Looking for a firm £170 (what I paid for it), which includes mainland UK postage. Will accept payment via Bank transfer or Paypal- PM me if interested, cheers! EDIT: *SOLD AND GONE*
15.
Just sold a preamp pedal to this rather sound chap, paid quickly and he seems to be happy, great basschatter as always!
Nice one Kev, happy indeed!

Kev's Feedback

Just took delivery of Kev's VT Bass DI a short while ago. It arrived packed very securely, bang on time and exactly as described... perfect! Thanks again mate, it was a pleasure!
17. There must be a buyer out there for this! The HS410 is a fantastic cab, as anyone who's played through one will confirm I'm sure. Jake's a good friend of mine, and I know he's looked after this particular cab since buying it from me... deal with confidence! PS I'm pretty sure the Bergantino logo badge is present- it's just covered with some black electrical tape
18.
I just bought a Lakland Skyline Decade off Etienne and it was an absolute pleasure doing business with him. It was a completely smooth and effortless transaction with perfect communications throughout. The bass arrived safe and sound thanks to Etienne's thorough packaging skills! Deal in confidence folks, absolutely no doubt I would do so again. Cheers, Dougie.
Thanks Dougie, appreciate that!
19. Dougie just took delivery of my Lakland Skyline Decade this morning- he was a total pleasure to deal with throughout, and I'm very happy that the bass has gone to a home where it will clearly be coveted! All communication was great, and he paid very quickly too... thanks again mate! Etienne
20. Another shoutout for Wunjo here! I always try to make time for a look round there when I'm in London, and inevitably end up buying something when I do! The staff are always friendly and chatty, and nothing seems too much trouble for them. This was a real shock to the system at first- I'd had a couple of unpleasant shopping experiences when the premises used to be the Bass Cellar, so I really wasn't expecting to be treated like a human being... how nice to be proved wrong!
21.
Actually I don't quite get why you would want to turn them round and put the coils so close together. It might as well be a single pickup bass. Not that there is anything wrong with single pickup.
I agree, that would have been silly and pointless! No, I reinstalled the pickups in their original positions before having the routing done- the magnets line up pretty much perfectly in Jazz Bass position as they are now...
22.
Do you mean that the neck pickup and the bridge pickup are different?
Yes, the magnets in the neck and bridge single coil Chisonics are orientated differently- I assumed that each magnet would be right in the centre of those massive chrome casings, but they're not. Instead, the neck magnet is right over at the neck-side edge of its casing, whilst the bridge magnet is way over on the bridge-side edge. You can check this for yourself by dangling a tiny Allen key over the pickup cover, and observing where the magnetic field pulls it... hope that makes sense! By having them change places, I found that the neck pickup sound tightened up nicely, becoming slightly less hollow (in a good way), whilst the bridge pickup became less honky, and thickened up enough to be really usable when soloed (more of a Rick bridge pickup tone). I far preferred the tone with both pickups on full as well!
23.
I played my Decade through my Walkabout combo on Friday - it did sound great. My pickups are both still in the original positions.
Mesa & Lakland are a fantastic combination, definitely! The Walkabout really gets the best out of the Chisonics- I can get really close to Ben (Incubus) Kenney's recent live tone with the pickups where they are now, especially with a good dose of preamp gain. Before I committed to having the body routed, I also tried swapping the neck PU in place of the bridge PU (and vice versa) as an experiment- this also sounded great... very Rickenbacker-esque!
24. I put a couple of pics up in this thread ages ago when I first had this modified, but thought it justified another round... this sounds the business through my Walkabout head!
25. Another Japanese Octaver here- s/n: 278800, February 1983.
