1. In the interests of disclosure, I should mention that I'm currently selling one of these! The quality of these is very good at the price point IMO- I handle and work on Korean-made guitars and basses on a daily basis in my job, and the quality is comparable with instruments selling at twice the RRP of this. I'm selling mine purely because the neck + middle pickup arrangement doesn't really gel with the tone that I want to achieve, and I have too many instruments anyway! The short-scale makes this effortless to get around on, and the neck has a nice comfortable profile (narrower width than a P-bass, slightly deeper than a Jazz). The short scale means that it balances well on a strap, despite the body shape and the light weight of the instrument. I think I'm just a died-in-the-wool Fenderhead when all's said and done, despite my attempts to branch out... Hope that helps!

  3. Hi everyone, This has been my main gigging head for several years now, and it hasn't missed a beat once. It's been racked in an SKB case the whole time I've owned it, so it's in very good condition, and everything works as it should. The only reason I'm selling is because I have just downsized (in power anyway!) to its little brother the 700RB-II... I've recently changed my speaker setup from a single Barefaced Compact to a Berg HS410, and I just don't need the massive power & headroom that this provides anymore! EDIT: Comes with rack ears installed, in a GK shipping box complete with manual and as-new power cable. Although not shown in the photo, the 4 rubber feet on the base and carry handle are fitted! The power section puts out a whopping 700W @ 4ohms/460W @ 8ohms, plus a separate 50W tweeter amp for those of you with GK cabs (I never used this feature myself). This amp is a fantastic match with the BF Compact IMHO- plenty of juice to work the Eminence driver hard, with fantastic tone at loud rock drummer levels of volume, whilst giving the head a pretty easy ride... I'm after just £350 for this- the price includes UK postage. No offers please! Will reduce the price of course if the buyer collects from Liverpool city centre. EDIT: NOW SOLD PM me if interested, thanks! Etienne http://
  4.
That's a cool bass. Flats on that would sound magic.
I agree with you there- it's got a real Hofner vibe to it, particularly with the neck pickup favoured slightly...
  5. Happy New Year everyone! I bought this from BC's ikay in early November- it's a fine instrument and great value for money, but after gigging it a couple of times, I've decided that it's not for me tone-wise. Since owning it, I've set it up with medium-high action, given the frets a polish, and tweaked a high fret that was buzzing slightly. The shortscale D'addario rounds fitted are still in great shape, and the bass positively thunders through my Walkabout/Berg rig... Here's a couple of pics: http:// http:// http:// The hard case is included of course! I paid £225 for this (including shipping)- I will accept £210 including UK shipping- no offers please! EDIT: NOW SOLD Of course, I'd be happy to let this go for a bit less if it's collected from Liverpool city centre. Not currently interested in trades, but will have a think and update the thread if GAS strikes... PM me if interested, and thanks for looking!

    Feedback for ikay

I just took delivery of Ian's Epiphone Allen Woody Rumblekat this morning- a fantastic instrument at a great price from an excellent Basschatter! Great communication, well-packed goods and super-fast shipping too (+1 for Paisley Freight)... thanks mate!
  7. Graham took delivery of one of my Barefaced Compacts last week. The whole deal was arranged via PM, so we didn't get to chat on this occasion, but he came across as a very nice fellow! The communication was excellent throughout, whilst the arrangements for payment happened exactly when he said they would- great stuff! Hope you enjoy it mate...
  8.
I've just bought your other one from George, Wooks is delivering it for me on Thursday. I can't bloody wait.
Good work there mate! I'm sure you'll like it...
PM'd
And replied... sold pending payment!
  9. ***SOLD PENDING PAYMENT*** Hi everyone, This is the second of two Compacts that I've owned up for sale- the first one was sold recently to George (AKA Fellrunner). I did plan to keep this one originally, but after acquiring some long-lusted-after Bergantino gear on here recently, I'm now looking to move this on too. The cab is in very good condition, is in full working order, and sounds fantastic. This was apparently the third Compact that Alex Claber ever built (according to the previous owner), and has an extra-thick paint finish compared to other early models, which should last for years, particularly with the Roqsolid cover to protect it! The cover itself is in very good condition with no rips or tears, and is a great fit on the cab. Being an early model, it's a bit heavier than the current version, but still an easy one-hand lift- I'd say it weighs about 14KG. As you can see in the photos, the cab doesn't have any corner protectors currently fitted, but I think it looks better without them! I traded in the original black plastic corners with another Basschatter for his full set of metal corners and screws, as used in the current Barefaced range- these will be included in the sale, but not fitted (I'll leave that to the discretion of the new owner!). Also included will be the logo badge, which I carefully removed when I first acquired the cab. The early-spec Compacts didn't come with any rubber feet fitted , so I have installed a good-quality set (much better than the ones Barefaced now use IMO!) on both the base and the side of the cab opposite the handle. Also, the original rubber handle sleeve had worn out, so I've very recently replaced it with a brand-new one... I'm looking for £380 for this, including UK shipping and careful packing. I will accept £360 if the buyer collects from my flat in Liverpool city centre. No offers please! Please PM me if interested... thanks for looking! Mr. Foxen

Oli bought a pair of KT88 valves from me recently. My second deal with him- just as easy as the first one!
  11. Thankyou Mark! I've been playing through them pretty much all day, and can see why they're so sought after- they sound amazing!
  12. I bought a Bergantino EX112ER from Mark a few weeks ago. The deal went so well, that I ended up buying another one from him! As others have said, a total pleasure to deal with- I would not hesitate to buy from him again. Great comms, sturdy packaging plus rapid & good-value shipping. Oh, and the gear's pretty good too... Thanks mate! Etienne
  13. Just got round to reading this- great interview!
  14.
Sorry, they must have been removed as per forum rules following the sale.
Indeed... sorry to drop you in it George! I had to take the pics down to make some room and restore my upload allowance... I can personally vouch that the older cab is a great bit of kit (having owned it from new until very recently when I sold it to George)- good luck with the sale!
  15.
By manage attachment do you mean my media? My Media? That only shows attachments you already have. To add new attachments go to "more reply options" then "choose files"
Thanks Charic! I was just wondering how to do exactly that myself.. nice one!
