1.
Bought a BF Compact from Etienne, pleasure to deal with and he REALLY looks after his gear. Cheers!
Thanks very much George!
2. George just called in at my flat a short while ago to collect my Barefaced Compact- like Pete says above, a smashing chap to deal with! Hope you enjoy the cab mate, thanks for an easy deal! Etienne
3. ... and replied. Now sold [s]pending payment[/s]- cheers! EDIT: NOW GONE- Collected this morning!
4. Just had a rethink on the price- I will now accept £370 for this including UK shipping & packing, or £350 collected- It's a steal people!
5. ***NOW SOLD*** Hi everyone, These came out of my Simms-Watts PA200 head- they've been inspected and tested at a healthy 53V each by amp wizard Roland Lumby of Salford. To buy a brand-new matched pair from Watford Valves would set you back £62.40 inc. VAT, plus shipping. I'd like just £30 for these, including UK postage and secure packing- no offers please! Bank transfer preferred- please check my feedback... PM me if interested, cheers! Etienne
6. Hi Paul, hope you're well! I don't have any scales to hand, but I'm reliably informed that this cab is around 14KGs, give or take (the current version is 12KGs). Like I said, it's still stupidly light- I still get kicks out of watching bandmates picking it up and nearly hitting themselves in the face with it, ha ha!
7. ***NOW SOLD*** Hi everyone, I have two of these fine cabs, which seems a bit greedy really, so I'm putting this one up for sale... I bought this brand-new from Alex Claber back in 2009, when Barefaced Bass was still a one-man business- it has done countless gigs with me since, and has never once let me down, nor failed to sound great! As it's an early-spec hand-built model, it's a bit heavier than the current CNC design (but still stupidly light though), has black plastic corner protectors (rather than chrome metal corners) and didn't originally come fitted with any rubber feet either. I have since added a set of chunky heavy-duty feet on the side opposite the handle, which do a fine job, epecially when transporting it with the cover on. I also have a spare matching plastic corner that I had lying around, which I'll throw in... The cover itself is made by Roqsolid, and is in used but good condition- it's done a great job of protecting the cab's finish over the years, and is a nice snug fit too. As you can see from the photos, I have removed the badge, as my preference was to stack my two Compacts sideways, and I thought it looked more 'stealth' that way! Don't worry though, I still have the badge in a safe place, and will include it in the sale. I'd say the cab itself is 8.5/10 cosmetically- I've always been pretty careful when transporting it, but over time the odd minor ding here and there is inevitable. However, the finish means that you can easily touch up any scrapes and make it look good as new- to be honest, I'm very impressed with how durable the painted finish has been since I've owned it! Needless to say, it works perfectly, and sounds fantastic (I miked it up with my Walkabout head and used it to record my band's forthcoming single only a few weeks ago). It's a regular gigger's dream, and I'm hoping that whoever buys this will get as much enjoyment out of it as I have! I'm looking for £370 for this, including UK shipping and careful packing. I will accept £350 if the buyer collects it from my flat in Liverpool city centre. No offers please! PM me if interested... thanks for looking!
8. I just collected Jon's mint Bergantino HS410 earlier this afternoon. Had a great chat with him, aided by probably the best cup of tea in the Midlands (special thanks to his mum for that! ) - an absolute gent and a pleasure to deal with. Best wishes for your future in Oz mate... Cheers, Etienne
9. Thanks Jake!
10. Jake just took delivery of my Jazz Bass scratchplate today- another smooth deal with a fellow Basschatter completed! Thanks mate...
11. Just remembered that I had this knocking about in my spares box! It came with an 80's Fender Jazz body that I bought a couple of years ago (now part of my main bass)- I wanted a brown tort guard instead, so I had Howard (The Bass Doc) make me a replacement for this one... it's in used but good condition, and is fitted with adhesive copper shielding around the pickup rout on the reverse. It has 11 mounting holes, plus two each for the pickup cover and thumbrest. I'm after £18 for this, including UK postage. **SOLD PENDING PAYMENT*** Thanks for looking!
12. Richard bought my Gig Skinz bag a few days ago, and took delivery of it earlier today. Good comms, and a prompt payer too- thanks mate!
13.
Hi Etienne.PMd If still available.
Replied...
14.
Still available? What are the internal dimensions?
PM'd- I'll add the internal dimensions to the main post for anyone else wondering...
15. I've just about recovered enough from yesterday's epic Liverpool-Glasgow round trip to leave some feedback, so here goes... I drove up and bought Tim's lovely Stentor double bass, fitted with Innovation Silver Slaps and a K&K mic/pickup system, for a very reasonable price- to say I'm pleased with my purchase is an understatement! I'm an absolute newbie to the DB, and although this was the only one I actually looked at before committing to buy, I very much doubt that I could have found a better starter instrument for the money. Tim very kindly threw in some very useful accessories (including a Simandl method book and a practise mute), which turned an already great deal into an unbeatable one! Tim is a lovely fellow, and couldn't have been any more helpful throughout the deal. Whether it was sending me comprehensive directions to his flat with accompanying pictures, or giving me loads of useful playing, transporting and technical tips- he really did go the extra mile, making this my best Basschat buying experience to date by far. You know you're dealing with a good man when there's a plate of Jaffa Cakes waiting for your attention when you first arrive... Thanks a million mate, it was a genuine pleasure to meet you! All the best, Etienne
16. Thanks very much for the kind words Tim, it was a pleasure to meet you too! Oh, and don't worry- I promise I'll take good care of her...
17. I picked up a used silverface Walkabout in excellent condition on here very recently, and can testify to the positive comments above- it's a fantastic sounding head, and puts out a lot of volume through the right cab, even with an 8ohm load. I own a pair of early-build Barefaced Compacts, and it can keep up with my band pretty easily using just one of them! It wipes the floor with the Shuttle 6.0 I used to own a while back for volume and weight of tone... The fan on mine is very quiet, even when I'm playing at very low volume in my living room. I paid £550 for mine including shipping, and consider that to be an absolute bargain...
18.
Great bags, these - Streamliner fits perfectly. By coincidence, I had to sell mine... because I moved to a Walkabout!
Thanks Michael! Yes, I've seen the light with the WA- it sounds amazing through my Compact!
19. Hi everyone, This great little bag has served me very well over the last couple of years, but it's too small unfortunately to fit my recently acquired Mesa Walkabout head in, and since I've just bought a Mono bass case that has room for all my accessories, I don't need to keep it as a leads bag either. It will accommodate the usual micro-head suspects (LM-II/III, Shuttle 3/6/9 & Streamliner, G-K MB, etc). It's the older black dragon print design, and is in pretty good shape considering how many gigs it's done- the webbing that wraps around outside of the bag is slightly bobbled, but that's about it. All the zips work great, and the velcro retaining strap in the main compartment still grips really well too. The plush lining inside all the compartments is in great shape throughout- no rips or snags. The only issue is that the lining of the small pocket on the inside of the main flap has torn (but it's still fine to stash a couple of folded-up setlists in). The approximate internal dimensions of the main compartment are as follows: W: 300mm L: 280mm D: 85mm I'm looking for just [s]£30[/s] £25 for this- no offers please! I will accept a bank transfer, or Paypal (if sent as a gift). The price includes UK shipping. ***SOLD PENDING PAYMENT*** Thanks for looking!
