1. Easy - find a band with a quality vocalist that can sing the songs in the original keys
2. Any singer or band with any credentials would be daft to put themselves forward for this so called contest - why embarrass yourselves.
3. Brown Sugar Jumping Jack Flash
4.
Yes.
Without appearing to be sexist, that's most probably the common denominator. Myself and the other two guys in our band have all had bad previous experiences with female vocalists, maybe we were just unlucky like you.
5. Were all four bands singers female?
6. I was working in Colchester this week and popped into Peaches Guitar Shop. I was well impressed by their huge range of high end guitars, the selection of basses was quite sparse but they are opening a big new bass section in the next six weeks. The guy in the store showed me an SUHR bass (cost over 2k) and said they were superb instruments, I had never heard of them. Anyone on here play them?
7. Currently have two MB rigs, love them.
8. Sounds OK to me. One concern would be you have only gigged 5 times since November 2013. You need to get out more, I'm surprised the band is still together with that very small amount of gigs.
9. Just checked an Ad for a female vocalist looking for a band on the JMB site, this just about sums it up. No transport - car has broken down. No equipment - not even a microphone.
10. Fabulous band, very underated, brilliant live.................their supporting ZZ Top on some UK gigs.
11. We have been advertising for a vocalist for four months on the JMB website, I cannot believe the d*ckheads that have applied. That particular site does seem to encourage a fair amount of "time wasters"
12. Only 55 and gone. Ex Heroin addict I have just read, this must have had an affect on his general health.
13. Spirit Of Radio by Rush Black Dog by Led Zep especially when played correctly when the guitar riff/bassline goes out of time with the drums.
14. My Musicman Stingray played through a Trace stack. Too damm heavy - gave me hernia - had to sell.
15. You really should get something for that cough !!!!
16. I played in a Free tribute band for two years and obviously had to play it. The original has no bass over the verses, so you do the same - nothing, I usually had a swig of drink. It really makes me cringe when I see a naff pub covers band bass player actually playing an A to D over the verses.
17. We have been advertising for a new vocalist for 4 months now. All we seem to get is time wasters, this "music business" does seem to have a lot of them. We have advertised on Join My Band and clearly state genuine enquiries only - no time wasters. What really frustrates me is that they respond to the advert and then you waste time chasing them up due to no further response.
18. Referring to the posted video clip - Blokes your age - you all need a damn good haircut
19. I'll be down at Dino's Bar and Grill
20. I was in a four piece band and three of us were Steve's.
21. Yes I did see that in your previous posts - he's a British chap currently living in Belgium. If he wins, he could end up representing Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest
22. I wish your pal luck - but Belgium is hardly the centre of the musical talent ,I'm racking my brain to think of any musical talent that has emerged from that country. The coaches - Jali Chimene Badi Stanislas Beverly Jo Scott Never heard of any of them. Your pal David probably has more talent than all of them put together, let alone be judged by them.
23. Firstly I was a big fan of the Feelgoods. This performance by Wilko and his band was dreadful, as I watched it I said to my wife that they would not even get a gig at our local pubs playing like that.
24.
Duffy does a pretty good version in the soundtrack for The Boat that Rocked.
Duffy who. She was all over the place at one time, now you never here of her.
25.
Nah, they were professionals!!
8 musicians and 5 vocalists, bloody brilliant, apparently most of the band are rated session players.
