Jesus, what a poor response. Surely there must be some players on here who have covered Emerald by Lizzy. I have done a fair few Lizzy covers, three in our current set but unfortunately I have never done Emerald otherwise I would help.

Just watching it on BBC2. Awesome tight band , real quality musicians. Female vocalists - whow, I'm pretty sure they are the two original ones.

Glastonbury is just like a big version of Jools Hollands show - A few decent acts but most of it is utter dross. The presenters follow up by saying every act was amazing or brilliant, it would be great to hear one of them say that was f*cking sh*te.

One of my favourite female vocalists Christine Mcvie was featured at the end of The One Show tonight singing Songbird. It was pretty dreadful, all wobbly and pitchy, has she now joined at lot of the older great vocalists who are now shadows of their former selves. Such a shame.

[/quote] IMO you should only really play covers that suit the instrumental set up of the band i.e. If you are playing a load of covers in your set that prominently feature a horn section, get a horn section, I know keyboards can try and emulate this but they never sound right to me.

Totally understand using them if you are a solo artist or duo. If you are a full band i.e. guitar, bass, drums etc, IMO I call it cheating.

Just got back from seeing Limehouse Lizzy tonight. Two new band members, drummer and lead guitarist, both excellent. Ears ringing, should have taken my earplugs.

That didn't look like Wellers usual bass player with him tonight. What an appalling bunch of acts on tonight, some are just laughable, what the hell was that crazy woman wearing the big pink net curtain ?

Luckily I have been in the USA for the last couple of weeks and missed this pile of sh*te.

Forgot to watch it. The listings had Jameraqio (can't spell it) as being on. Nobody has mentioned it, were they not on?

Next weeks show will be worth a look, Robert Cray and Jamiroquai.

That's fairly modern stuff, I think the youngest song in our set is Dakota, pretty sure that was released in 2000 !! I agree with Dan Dare, I hardly recognise any songs in your set list.

Just flicking through the channels tonight and came across Later, a black woman on guitar and backed by a band made up of Mumford and ZZ Top lookalikes - bloody awful IMO.
