3.
I use ultimate guitar and songster when I can't work bits of a song out. I don't get why people get so hateful about tabs. As long as you understand they are unlikely to be perfect, then they make a great starting point.
well said, they are a very useful resource to learn a song to jam with people, I do this and also when Im not learning songs Im learning relative pitch to hear intervals and train my ear, I just worked out the riff to running free by iron maiden , it may not be right though as just going by what I remember of the main gist of the song, if I was learning it to play with a band though i would get some guitar pro tabs off the net, then jam along to the audio once id learned it to see if it was ok. there are some good programs for relative pitch, learning rhythm and reading music on the iphone. so you can practise if youre stuck waiting somewhere
 4.
I use Guitar Pro tabs of Ultimate-Guitar.com personally. Liam
2nd this , if you havent got guitar pro you can also download Tux for mac linux or windows which is a great alternative to gp too.

 13. I got an iOS app called relative pitch lite. It's free it can be upgraded to full for 4.99. It's very good
 14.
Its a fine balance between keeping someone interested, ie learning songs they like from tab and learning the 'proper' (for want of a better word!) way, can both ways be done?
i don't see why not. You need to learn some songs and supplant it with basic knowledge so you eventually work out your own lines
 15. Go on guys..... The Stephen Adler book is awesome my fave rock biog I have read it 4 times , the slash one is ok too , didnt like the duff one so much but it may grow on me after another read. The Stephen are one is my fave though and I have read /collected a few . The mistaken one is quite good. I want the glen Hughes one . I recently bought the hardback of life by keef Richards but have read it before and am waiting a bit to read again, most ronnie wood ones are good too
 16. Well done matey , am so pleased the video was posted on here must have been so much fun playing on the telly show looks like you were havin a great time dude sorry to hear you don't have the bass any more , it looks like mine but mine is a vintage ( brand) v4. Good one on making the performance tape your video single, it's a super performance looks great on the vid posted here too. Have a great new year. Paul
 17. Building rock bass lines by ed friedland starts at the beginning and has other useful stuff for intermediate-ish players too and it is in F clef and teaches basic rhythm too and comes with a play along cd you can't go wrong. Also for a quick start you could download the free Tux program for most systems it's like guitar pro , download a song he likes and you can slow it and play along using bass tab . Trainer hd app for iOS is good for learning bass fretboard and music man app is great for learning bass and treble clef
 18.
Anyone who doubts Cliff Williams musicianship, (which he practises through playing the bass.) should watch ACDC Live at River Plate. A stadium of people turned into one churning mass of celebration and communal enjoyment. Music at one of it's most base, feral and inane levels, but also pure and meaningful as well.
. +1 what a great show I used to think castle donnington was big years ago, the sheer number of fans at river plate show knocks my socks off. Love it

 22.
What Do You Want? by Adam Faith. Can't say I noticed at the time. Good old Wickipedia.
i love to see Freddie Starr doing this, there's a clip on YouTube where he sings it on a show and Adam faith comes on and says he owes him some money for all the times he's sung it
